RalphMRivera,
This app is genuinely awful.
This app is terrible and many steps backwards from the prior version. Aside from the cumbersome setup, many of the instructions are not in English and can’t be changed to English. Also, units of measure are inconsistent so you constantly have to calculate between metric and imperial when entering data. Finally, you have to have an account to work with the app, but the account is different that your lifespan account. There’s no indication of this as you try to repeatedly log in with your lifespan account. This app is a rough beta at best. The app that used to pair with the treadmill before is vastly superior. It was simple and worked.

Update: it’s been months since my review and the app still does not work. I’ve contacted support numerous times and the company seems unmotivated to either fix this app or return the old app that worked perfectly. I wish I could return this treadmill and get a competitor product. This company is unfazed by their low quality and user feedback.
Cruiserunner,
Has a ways to go
I recently purchased a Lifespan 5500i treadmill and have been using the app for a couple of weeks. It is quite basic and leaves me wishing it provided a lot more information. Once you figure out how to sync data (make sure you turn on the Bluetooth speaker button on the treadmill before you start your workout), you get daily and weekly totals of steps, calories, time on treadmill, distance, average heart rate and maximum speed. Problem is other key data that shows on the treadmill is left off the app such as average pace per mile and highest heartbeat. I wish monthly totals were shown, too, as well as graphs of the data. I have had a few problems with the data provided. My maximum speed has shown as 0 mph on each workout so far. For one workout only average heart rate zone showed up on the app with all the data showing as 0 %. It does not show up on any of my other workout days. Such inconsistencies and the lack of more substantial data is why I give it just three stars.
LGalKY,
Abysmal Functionality
The app is terribly antiquated which would be fine if it worked regularly, it doesn’t. Most often it won’t connect to the device even though there’s no issue with the Bluetooth in the device or my phone. Not to mention the fact after paying all this money for this treadmill desk it doesn’t whatsoever sink with apples activity app, nor is there Apple Watch app. I suspect it’s because there will be a vast difference in the step count or mileage. Your customers went about half a year or more with no app at all, the hopes were that the next would be better and it’s really not even an upgrade.

Works Well Enough
I use the app exclusively to transfer and input steps from the Lifespan treadmill to Apple Health. For that purpose, it works well enough. The app connects to the control unit via Bluetooth and syncs any steps it hasn’t recorded yet. It makes sure to only record new steps and doesn’t double count.

The only concern I have with the app is that sometimes the control unit thinks the app is still connected. When this occurs, the app is unable to connect via Bluetooth. I try to sync steps whenever I take a break from walking, but due to this intermittent issue I have had times where I was unable to sync some of the steps I had taken.

The past reviews mostly say this app doesn’t work, but that isn’t true in my case. I’m using iOS 16 with an iPhone 14.
Lauraaaaaa,
Unreliable and poorly done interface
I like my treadmill desk, but the quality of this app is unacceptable as a feature for a $2000 piece of equipment. It’s unreliable and often doesn’t register major step count progress— for example, sometimes if I’ve walked 10k steps and connect to Bluetooth, it restarts the treadmill erasing my step count and doesn’t record the steps on the app. Also, the interface is terrible and was clearly put together by a non-native English speaker and just plugged into a generic app rather than one tailored to Lifespan/this piece of equipment. Again this is unacceptable for a $2000 piece of equipment.

OK app, unintuitive Bluetooth sync
The app works OK overall. Connects to the treadmill control unit via Bluetooth mostly reliably, and syncs steps with the Health app.

The Health app doesn’t seem to count treadmill steps towards daily goals, so one might still get prompted to walk more even after hours on the treadmill, but I don’t believe this is a problem with the LifeSpan app.

The Bluetooth sync UI is unintuitive though. This app detects that the treadmill control unit is in Bluetooth mode, and gives a visual cue, but it won’t actually transfer any data until one touches the Bluetooth logo on the screen.

There are no hints that the Bluetooth logo is a UI control, and since the app has already responded to the treadmill, one is inclined to think that data is being exchanged. This took a while to figure out.
a student and reviewer,
Very buggy
This app is pretty buggy bug I was able to figure out what not to do to keep it pretty reliable in recording your walking data. However since iOS 15.5 it will sometimes just say it is saving data but then record nothing. Ie it shows nothing for the session in the history and does not show up in the apple health app. It is very random when this happens, sometimes it works and sometimes not. Very buggy. Please hire someone to fix this app as the treadmill itself is great, the app is terrible.
chris b***r,
Hot garbage
This doesn’t work at all because it won’t connect to the TR1200-DT treadmill via Bluetooth. Renders it pointless. The LifeSpan support email sent me a canned response of things to try and of course nothing worked. They admitted after my response that the app is “currently being worked on and does not run perfectly.” It simply doesn’t work.

For as much as these treadmills cost - and they are fantastic treadmills - you would think they would be able to develop a working app. Absolutely unacceptable.
sen-mik,
Stats are not in sync
It is so barebones, it is not even funny! But at least the existing functionality should work but it is only kinda works, sync with my treadmill happens haphazardly, there is no way to update it manually as in good apps by tapping some button to get in sync if it didn’t automatically. I would expect AppleHealth integration from treadmill that costs almost $2,000. Very disappointing.
Mechjagger,
Potential but bit behind the times
App works okay, syncs good to my tr1200i. UI is good and provides good details. What is missing is the ability to sync the data to other health tracking apps. Hopefully the developer will add sync to Apple health and activity, this would allow the app to expand greatly since that ecosystem works across insurance health monitoring apps. I don’t think anything else in the app is needed beyond this.
