In this version we focus on add Difficulty levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), and making the exercise more intuitive.
- Word Order Exercise Improvements. When you tap the Check button, words in the correct position will be displayed in green, words in the wrong position in red. Once you've seen these clues, all the words to the right of the first wrong word will dissappear, so you can focus on guessing the next right word.
- Write Exercise Improvements. If you spell a word incorrectly, the letters in the wrong order will appear in red and will be removed from view.
- Say Exercise improvement. Lingidy will now check if you have given permission to use your device’s microphone and to enable speech recognition, which are necessary to complete this exercise. If not, you will be prompted to turn on these Permissions in in iOS Settings.
- Difficulty Levels. Go to Settings and choose Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. If you choose Beginner, then Word Order Exercise and Write Exercise will only show the words and letters in the correct answer. If you choose Intermediate, then an extra word or letter, not found in the correct result will appear in the list. If you choose Advanced, two letters will appear and the first word in the phrase will not be capitalized.
- Removed the dancing Panda animation which was a throw back from earlier versions but we plan to replace it with a dancing Dolphin that will rock your world.
- Added Dolphin chatter on startup. You can adjust the frequency or eliminate it all together in Settings.
- Fixed bugs causing crashes for some users when tapping on More > Settings or Phrases > Exercises (blue circle with arrow icon).

Tap on Chat in the tab bar and try asking our AI Tutor to be a celebrity like Shakira or Leonardo da Vinci or Michael Schumacher and teach you languages like Spanish, Italian or German. We were the first to integrate Chat GPT, even before the owl guys), to provide this amazing feature and it’s only gonna get better.
- Changed the Say exercise to use iOS record button and animation to increase familiarity for Apple users, and everybody else.

Great app for learning what YOU want to learn
I like this app because I can choose what kind of phrases I want to learn. For instance, when I’m going to a new country- I just want to be able to speak in a restaurant. Most language learning apps force you to go through lessons completely irrelevant to phrases I will ever use but this app has tons of categories like “at the bar”, “at the cafe”, “at a museum,” or even activities like “surfing” or “hiking” so it’s nice being able to choose yourself what I will personally find useful and skip the others.
Keep in mind that when it’s listing phrases, you can also click on the phrase to hear it out loud. I didn’t realize that until I had used the app for a while. Also, if you hold down on the phrase, you will have an option to add it to your favorites.

Swedish Dolphins Rule 🐬🇸🇪
I tried previous versions of this app a while back to maintain my Swedish and I liked it a lot. But this version is amazing because you can just have a chat conversation in Swedish, or German French Italian whatever language and the app will respond in that language, and in English translation too so you can compare. And you can chat and respond in Swedish, or English if your Swedish isn’t great and it will translate it in real time. I read that you can ask the tutor to pretend to be any celebrity so I asked it to Bridget Bardot, and it did 😂😂😂😂😂 Hej Bridget, hür må du? Haha So funny, and the tutor can talk about things that only BB would know. And it says that the next version will have real voices, can’t wait for that.

Lingidy German trial: too little there!
I’m still using the free trial for German. I’m disappointed that there is no feedback (a simple ding of affirmation) for my pronunciation. Also, I really would like further guidance in the form of grammar & usage. Maybe German usage has changed, but are the polite forms of the second person no longer used? What there is in the app is very good. But I don’t really feel a sense of mastery, or insight into usage with any of the content. I’m still trying it out, but it appears I’ll want a different learning program with greater variety & depth. My reasons for learning German include not only travel, but eventual reading knowledge and ultimately some fluency, as well. Your German dictionary app is excellent (premium version), so I simply expected much more in the lesson app. Thank you kindly for the free trial. S. M.

Good language app
I tutor students online for a living, and a bunch of other things too so I appreciate good learning tools when I see them. Ligidy is a good app for several reason but I would say the best is that the lessons throw you some curveballs every so often to keep your attention. You can only hear « What is your name », « my name is » so many times, but what other app teaches you to say « Are you pregnant🤰🏽?» as part of a lesson called Making Enemies, which comes right after Making Friends. Lol The new chat feature is a fun way for student to learn a language and about other subjects of interest at the same time. This is the way to the future for language apps.

Excellent and efficient app to learn language
Lingidy is an excellent language app to learn Spanish. I have taken continuing education classes for Spanish at high schools and college before. And I practice everyday and try to learn to speak better Spanish.
Lingidy’s strong point and maybe the best part is it offers learning opportunities with so many different categories and situations you can choose from. So I can delve into my interest and specific need for which I can learn and improve my language skill. I was even intrigued by category of Swearing. Lingidy may be the only language learning app which can teach you how to swear. I admire the courage for that.

Chat feature rocks
I downloaded this app a few months ago to learn Spanish and I like the lessons a lot. I noticed the recent upgrade had a new chat feature so I gave it a whirl. I tried chatting with Pablo Picasso in Spanish about art. So fun and really useful because it will correct you if you ask it to. If you don’t know what to say in Spanish you can just say it in English, and see what the translation would be. Hoping they will add voice so I can practice my pronunciation like for the exercises. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

One of the better
I’ve been using this app to learn Spanish, and I really appreciate how this app base it’s learning in phrases and not just a laundry list of words. I love that I can save favorite phrases; that way I can easily find back to the ones I want to practice more, or know I’ll use more. I like how everything is organized in categories. It makes it easy to navigate. And I really appreciate the simplistic design - especially with the lessons/exercises.
I’m giving it one less star because I wish more categories are open on the free version. And I don’t like ads. I’d rather pay a little upfront and upgrade as I go.

Amazing language app
I was born in the US and raised in Argentina so I appreciate travel, culture and learning languages. I’m also a musician and Italian is the language of music. So I’ve been trying some apps to get a basic ability to converse. This app allows me to learn Italian from English and Spanish so I can understand some of the nuance and similarity of latin languages. And the exercises are fun. There are thousands of phrases to learn and if you can’t find one the app goes translator on you, so it’s pretty much unlimited.

Effective learning
Love this new app, I’ve been a member of Rosetta Stone for decades and still haven’t retained much of anything. I’m currently living abroad and a second or third language is a must! Using this app and it’s conversation starter along with some slang has been key to meeting new people. I’ve become more confident entering into the unknown. As stated below in these reviews, learning apple for the hundredth time isn’t doing it. I recommend trying the app and seeing if it fits your needs.

This version has some nice improvements like different difficulty levels and hints for some of the exercises. On the last version if you got stuck trying to spell a word, it could bring you down. Now when you Check, it shows the letters in the wrong place in red.
