Love Literati, but the app needs some improvements
Our 2 year old book lover constantly need new books but we still avoid going to a library, since he sometimes “plays” with his books and rips out pages. So this subscription program has been a perfect thing for us. However, the monthly Book Preview alert goes only to my email and not through the app. Is this normal? All my phone notification setting is on for Literati and there’s no setting in the app I can adjust the notification frequency. It would be super helpful if I get monthly notifications through the app since my email gets swarmed by junk daily.

Pretty messed up how they advertise their program. It takes you to the website and asks a couple of questions to “create” a personalized box for your child and it does not give you further information on how the subscription works. It takes you to your total of about $10 but they leave out the fact that this does not cover the books only the shipping. You pay for the books you end up keeping and send back the rest. I caught it after a few minutes of placing the order and reached out to customer service to cancel and make sure they didn’t ship out the box i LITERALLY just ordered and they will not refund or stop the order from shipping and I’ll have to send back the books once received. A complete joke. I’m waiting to hear back from their customer service as i am ready to dispute the charge.
Update: someone on their customer service end reached out and offered me a refund at the end for the issue. While i appreciate them helping resolve this issue. They should definitely consider fixing their advertising and providing customers with less misleading information.

Great way to Engage Children in Reading
Literati is such a wonderful way to keep children engaged in reading. My boys get so excited each month when the box comes and they have new books to dive into. It is a wonderful way to experience a wide range of books and stories! We absolutely love our experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to make reading a big hit in their home.

We have been loyal subscribers since 2018...My kids always get excited to see the blue box on our porch! As I browsed through the app to see our purchases of the past, I realized that most of my kids’ well-loved and re-read books have come from Literati.
There is obviously a lot of thought and care put into each box’s theme and book choice. We definitely recommend Literati!

Decent app for reviewing Literati shipments
The app is a handy way to review your books delivered and adjust subscription details, payment methods etc. and toggle between users/kids easily. Much better than looking up the website!

I was SO excited seeing the ad for this. As it turns out, your subscription doesn’t cover any of the books. I had to look at the reviews after I already filled out the subscription & payment info before I realized my massive mistake. I’m truly heartbroken by this & will be making it a point to simply go book shopping monthly will my little one instead.

False Advertising
$9.95? Free shipping? Not a chance. They don’t mention you also pay PER book once you decide what to keep until after you’ve given credit card info. They claim they beat competitor prices and I can guarantee that isn’t true. A $4 book online ends up being $15 or more if you decide to keep it with this scheme. Disappointed.
