-Great news, we updated to the brand new Google Photos API! LiveFrame no longer requires access to Google Drive to display all of your photos. For current LiveFrame users with a Google Photos account, a reauthorization is required. We have attempted to make this reauthorization as seamless as possible. Current LiveFrame users will see a (!) beside their Google Photos account in LiveFrame when they launch this update for the first time. Simply tap the (!) icon and reenter your Google Photos credentials. If anyone encounters issues with the new Google Photos integration please contact us.
-Google Photos Shared Albums are now supported with the new Google Photos API. You can now add all of your Shared Albums to LiveFrame!
-Added 3D Touch feature to start/resume an already configured slideshow by simply 3D pressing the LiveFrame icon from the device home screen. Device must support 3D Touch for this feature to work.
-Added a sleep/wake feature that will turn the screen black while sleeping. Now you don't have to worry about stopping your slideshow at night and starting it again in the morning! This feature compliments the auto shutdown feature that already exists.

Backward compatibility
I finally got this working on an old iPad mini to work as a picture frame. The two non-obvious steps were disabling lock screen mode (settings only available during the slideshow) and paying to avoid ads. Very happy.
I then went to install this on a second, older iPad v1 that only has ios5. I was happy to see that there was a version available (it appears some of the data feeds are limited, but I can live with that). But now it appears there is a problem with “restoring prior purchase”. It isn’t working for me.
Should my payment give me access on multiple machines? Do I need to buy it again?

I don’t ever review apps, I’m not sure why. However this one has been nothing but great. I’m using it on an iPad I have framed to turn an unused old slow iPad into a gorgeous digital picture frame. This app doesn’t disappoint and you can’t tell you’re looking at an iPad (except for the picture quality). We were able to seamlessly select the Apple share drive we have all my sons pictures on and shuffle them. There are over 1800 photos now shuffling and auto updating as we add more to the share. I love you can tell the app to turn off at a certain time. My only request is to have the app turn ON at a certain time, and begin shuffling photos immediately. I can tell my jailbroken ipad to turn on at a certain time, and then the app to open and shuffle automatically. And then it’ll turn off at a specific time. It would be nice to have my frame running 5p-12p every day automatically. Here’s hoping they add it, but nonetheless, definitely recommend it. It’s $2, don’t bother with the ads/free version. Just spend the $2.

Great digital picture frame or slideshow, enjoying the app
I wanted a Shared Album slideshow that my mom could start with a Siri voice command after she uses Siri to check her Messages and Calendar. I couldn’t figure a way to do that, even with Shortcuts. This does that (“Hey Siri, open LiveFrame”) and a lot more. The slideshow can include not only photos from your iPad, but also from all your social media accounts, which is pretty neat.
Things I figured out about the app that other users might want to know: photos are ordered by creation date, not upload date as stated on the web page; Disable Lock Screen works per the web page, not the App Store page; Check for New Photos works per the web page, not the App Store page; and captions are IPTC captions, not the other things like title, file name, and Photos description that might be considered a caption.

Simply the best (but video capability would be so, so nice!)
I’ve struggled for years to find the perfect photo frame software for my iPad. Apple’s own slideshow feature crashed if you tried to display too many photos. Other software wouldn’t support the old iPad I was trying to repurpose as a frame. Some programmers thought you’d only want to view photos in a single album (seriously?).
But LiveFrame checks (almost) ALL the boxes.
It lets you select multiple photo albums on your iPad, or chose on-line sources (don’t know if you can mix and match). The time and weather overlays are elegant. The ability to pause and swipe left/right to view other photos is so cool, and the little film strip of images is brilliant! You have granular control over almost every aspect of the display. Even setting the sleep and wake time is well-designed.
I’m gushing, I know!
What’s missing? The ability to play videos. I shoot a lot of video to capture the essence of events or places, so that was almost a deal-breaker. But the developer has said it’s coming. So I have faith. 🙏🏻

Fantastic App
This is such an incredible app. I love photography and looking at pictures I have previously taken. I used this app to take an frame an old iPad and hung in my kitchen to shuffle through 20,000 + pictures stored in iCloud all day long. It's great walking by and seeing old photos. Family members have liked it so much that I helped them with a similar setups.
I've also emailed the developer of this app for previously issues that I had and they responded promptly and let me know in what release the issues would be corrected. Great customer service!

Great for Grandparents
Downloaded this for the grandparents (late 70s/early 80s) who live out of town. All of the kids and grandkids were easily able to add photos via different apps to instantly share in their grandparents “digital frame” AKA their iPad! It was easy for the grandparents to use and enjoy! Thank you! Wish we could connect multiple Facebook accounts though as they share the iPad and the iPad is displayed in their home as a digital picture frame when not in use; would like to see both their photos from Facebook.

Finally! The perfect way to use my old iPad!
I have an iPad 2 that won’t support anything past iOS 9.3.5. Otherwise, it’s in great shape with nary a crack. I’ve been looking for a way to reuse it as a digital photo slideshow FOREVER. None of the other apps I downloaded worked and I didn’t feel like putting a ton of time and effort into uploading all my photos into another photo stream. I am thrilled with this app - it cost $1.99 to get rid of the commercials/breaks. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Thank you for developing this fabulous app! I’ve got my iPad on my kitchen counter and enjoy it so much.

Wow I’ve been researching for days to find a app or physical frame that created a shuffled slideshow of photos that could pull dynamically from a shared iCloud Photo Stream. You’d think that would be common but no! This app is one of a kind! If there was a way to launch the slideshow automatically at a certain time, or even pop up a notification at that time that would launch the slideshow when swiped that would make my digital photo frame experience perfect.

Buy the no ads upgrade on a more modern version of iOS, otherwise it’s completely useless as I kept getting hung up on the payment verification screen on the old iPad since it wouldn’t load. So I bought it on a newer iPhone then transferred the purchase seamlessly. I just wish videos would also play or there was an option to skip any videos so they don’t show up in the slideshow.

I have an old iPad that couldn’t be upgraded past iOS 9 so wanted to use it as a frame. This app was able to access my photo library, even shared libraries in Photos so I could update photos from other machines. At first I had a problem how to select custom albums but their support quickly gave directions. Turned out I still had a folder full of 1000+ albums from iPhoto events that bogged down the iPad before displaying the list.
