Look, the bar for artists releasing any kind of mobile game is low. Not naming any names here (*cough* coheed *cough*) Pretty much all this game would have had to do to impress me would be to be playable and have some nice Aes beats.
Well, not only is the game playable, but it’s fun? And switches up the gameplay every level in innovative ways? And contains enough little collectible tokens to make it replayable? Truly unheard of.
Honestly the only thing keeping this separate from any other popular mobile platformer is that they don’t have a team of devs making it 100+ levels long, but honestly it’s better for its brevity.
I did have some intermittent unresponsiveness with the controls in level 3 that made things needlessly frustrating, but that might be something on my end. Overall this is way more fun than it has any right to be. Big ups to team Aes for pulling this off. Go Larry.
