EmilySunfish,
Cute, simple, rare single-purpose app
If you’re the kind of person who needs a reminder to take your meds, chances are you’re also the kind of person who doesn’t want or need to be bogged down by dozens of features, bells and whistles, and general junk. Max knows its job and does that job well. I do think the app is a little bit under-developed, and I hope the devs can expand on its functionality somewhat. One thing I wish you could do is mark meds as taken for previous days. I take one pill at bedtime and sometimes that ends up being past midnight, so I can’t mark it as taken for that day. It would also be nice to toggle the call reminders on and off for each medication; I want Max to give me a ring for my morning meds but not late at night. But these are small complaints— I’m overall very happy with my virtual service dog! 😊
crx81,
What a great app should be!
This app does exactly what it says, and it does it simply, and well. I needed something to remind me to take my meds, as well as let me know later that I actually did it when the doubt set in. I don’t need an app that also tries to do 10,000 other health related functions that my other apps already overlap.
While this app doesn’t work on Apple Watch, as others have said, the alerts DO come through on the watch, which is good enough to remind me. That being said, I’d love to see the developer expand the app to full functionality on the watch... at least to get the alert AND mark it taken. I do believe that would be worth paying for. Keep up the good work!
jamaicanmademeesh,
Love this!
It’s simple, intuitive, and super cute! I just really wish there were one more feature. My favorite feature is receiving a reminder phone call if I don’t mark my medicine as taken. But if I decline the call or still don’t mark it as taken, there are no more reminders. I get some people don’t want to be constantly reminded but I wish there was a setting the user could choose maybe like “continuous or once” on the reminders. Sometimes I really can’t get to it right then then and then I forget. The user could even be able to adjust how often they receive them until they take their medicine. I wouldn’t mind a push notification or call every 15 minutes until I take it. Somebody else might want every thirty minutes.
thanks_4_the_birb,
Lovely app
It works great for most of my medications.

Though if I get distracted past midnight and take my evening meds late I can’t actually mark anywhere that I’ve taken them, which is frustrating. I like using the history feature as a reference for which meds I’ve taken, and have to either count pills or leave myself notes for anything outside a set calendar day

Barring that, my experience has been pleasant. The call notifications are different enough from my other alarms that I can notice them, which is nice.

It would be wonderful if I could mark medications as “taken” from my watch too, but the notifications showing up on it serve my purposes fine

The clean interface and lack of distractions are a godsend for helping me remember to take my medicines, some of which I need to take to focus and remember things, and this breaks the endless loops of forgetfulness I used to get trapped in

I also very much appreciate having the option of Chuck the bird. He is cute and wanting to see him again has motivated me to actually open the app and take my meds when I otherwise wouldn’t feel up to it
BuzzBee986,
Nice, if you have ADHD
I’m someone that has ADHD and dyslexic and this is some thing that will help you if you are the same because it’s easy to read and has good reminders that you can sit at your own time and they even give you reminder calls if you forget to notify them that you took your medicine 17 years old and though this may be used for children if you have ADHD then this may help because I need constant reminders and alarms throughout the day. It does not help if I cannot remember what I sent them for so this is a nice way to have an alarm with a reminder of what you’re supposed to do.
HLPINTX,
Just what I need
I love the simplicity of this app. Just exactly what I need to take my medications, each with different daily quantities and times. It relieves me of the burden of trying to remember or the annoyance of multiple alarms on my phone. Almost even better is that I don’t have to second guess myself whether i took something or not. And marking it taken could not be simpler. The reminder call is so handy (and cute!). I am so glad I found this app. ♥️ In a world where ‘more’ seems to be better, the laser focus on its purpose is what makes it so special. Thank you for recognizing this need.

Cute idea but didn’t work…
I was so excited to try this app, it’s a fun way to get a medication reminder. I only set up one medication reminder for every morning at 8am, but it never gave me a notification. I had notifications turned on for the app and set up the reminder in the app correctly, but it never sent a notification on my phone. I would check the app an hour or two after it was supposed to go off—I opened the app and went back out and only after having opened the app did the red notification for show up on the app icon. It was like I had to open the app myself for it to refresh and notify me, but even then it only had the red dot, not a banner reminder or anything else. Wanted to love this app, but did not work right. :(
PaintpalArt,
Funny & Practical - Love it!!!
This is a very simple app. Choose a mascot, enter your prescriptions one at a time and the time(s) you want to take it and forget it. I chose Max the dog, so my phone barks when it is time to take the pills.

It If you don’t take them, or forget to check off what you have taken, expect a phonecall from your mascot 20 minutes later ( I am not kidding - it was a pleasant surprise when I answered the phone and heard Max barking…LOL). Made my day!
Thank you for a simple and clever pill reminder!
Disgusted App User,
Needs DST adjustment!!
This app has been perfect and super user friendly, however it doesn’t adjust for the DST time change, so it doesn’t matter what time you enter it’s entered in the app as an hour earlier. So, if you have anything to take after 10:59 p.m. there’s no way to add that reminder because even entering it past the midnight marker doesn’t adjust it. This is based on EST. That really needs some adjusting because other than that fluke it would be a great app. So, for the entire “fall-back winter time” season I don’t have any late night reminder, which is my most important medication. Hopefully it’s back to normal come mid-March.
Jana4444,
So good I looked for a tip jar!
I never rate apps, but here we are. This app is ideal. The ‘call’ feature is ingenious and effective, the interface is uncomplicated, the ability to customize your avatar friend / icon ingenious, and it doesn’t ask for intrusive, private data. You can add as little or as much detail as YOU want. A nickname, not your name. A generic drug name, or just ‘morning meds’. And an easy chart to view your time stamps of taking meds. Perfect.

Developer. 1. Kudos. 2. Give option to tip in app. Or at least a link.
