And, if you work with a health professional, MealLogger allows you to connect directly to your dietitian, nutritionist, fitness trainer, etc for feedback, advice, and support on your mobile device.

You can get great social and one-on-one support from MealLogger, but now you can also join custom Nutrition Programs. Or if you're joining MealLogger via our fitness club or health partners, you'll find programs published specifically by your club or company sponsor.

Tracking servings has never been easier. Just snap a picture and tap the serving amount. No looking up food; no entering grams and calories. No more looking up one food type from hundreds of examples. And MealLogger lets you know how you're doing, meal by meal, how many more servings you need to eat that day.

Connect to your friends with MealLogger groups! Create your own community based on your lifestyle, connecting with friends, family members, colleagues, or anyone sharing a common interest. If you're not yet ready to share with a group, follow a public group to learn more how others motivate each other to eat healthy or to research a specific diet you've always been curious about.

Designed with privacy in mind, MealLogger groups can also be completely private -- no need to worry about posting updates to social networks or public forums where everyone can see. With private MealLogger groups, you can get same social support you love in a place built specifically for personal healthy eating conversation with those you trust.

CandyceInCincy,
Really great app, but could use a bit of work
Edit: The UI issues are real issues, it turns out. The concept is great, but there are errors and stuff that make this harder to use than it should be.

Original: I used to use calorie counting apps frequently, getting decent results, but I sometimes found that too cumbersome/tedious, particularly when eating out. And sometimes the focus on calories in/calories out/nutrient counting meant having days where I ate less than wholesome food (processed) that looked deceptively ok when plugged into an app (within calorie budget, added vitamins in ingredients, etc.). I switched to counting servings of food types, but was left wondering about energy balance. So being able to estimate calories consumed from servings of food types is magical!

The UI is less than intuitive, though. It took a minute to figure out where to find the calorie estimates, and tracking exercise isn't nearly as easy as tracking food.

I wish I could export calorie estimate data to HealthKit and possibly import exercise data. I also wish for further customization of nutrition plans (for different sized bodies and needs like pregnancy or breastfeeding).

But this is a mostly a great app. Thanks!
New Mom08,
Doesn’t always work
I like the idea of this app, as I was looking for an easy way to track what I eat. Taking photos has proven the best option for me. I’ve tried other apps that log calories but I get too hung up on accuracy and lose focus on the big picture. The app is super buggy and doesn't always work. Seems to be getting worse with the iOS upgrades and makes me think this app isn’t actively being developed anymore.
Foodhealthnut,
Great app!
Perfect app for tracking food intake and connecting with my coach.
Somya,
Can’t Save Anything
I am trying to save a post and the “Save” button overlaps the very top right of the screen on the status bar. I can see the button but am unable to click it so I can’t save anything.
PORTLAND SOONER,
Great app,
This is a great app if you take the time to use it & if you pay for the subscription to work with a nutritionist. We all need help in what to eat when. I have been using this app everyday for ~2 months & has helped to make s big difference in my lifestyle choices when it comes to nutrition.
It would be perfect if you could see your nutritionist comments on your phone without having to go onto the computer but maybe that is soon to come. Great app!!!
Dpsap,
Great App!
What a useful and easy to use app. I have been a calorie counter for years and was used to entering all my food and amounts. This is so much easier and the support you get from others is so helpful. Not to mention that you also see their pictures, which is so helpful when looking for inspiration on something yummy and healthy when you are tired of the same old food! There is also the mindful aspect. You are posting your pictures. You want to post good food, healthy food and proper portions. Really makes you think twice on what you should eat! Thanks!
gamer0375,
Great app
I used to have an app called the Eatery, this one is wayy better. This app is really great because I hate counting calories and snapping pictures of the food you ate is so much less time consuming. I want to eat healthy, not count my calories but there is a calorie counter that you can turn on if you want. You can link to your friends and see what they're eating or just follow a random group and see what everyone else is eating. I love it and am so glad I came across this app.
maayab,
Simply amazing
This app is amazing ! You can log meals ( with or without a picture though I recommend taking a picture of your food before you eat it) , track your weight progress , and track your workouts. I love it I can see what I ate a week, 2 weeks, or 3 weeks ago and see what I ate that was wrong that made me gain weight . Everyone should track what they eat whether your trying to lose weight or not and this is the BEST app for that purpose .
kitty_wonka,
LOVE it!
I was invited to join a MealLogger group with a few friends who are very motivated to get into shape. Before using the application, I thought my diet was relatively balanced and didn't really notice any monotony or 'holes'. How wrong I was! Straightaway, I was inspired by the food choices that others in the group made, and also saw where certain types of foods were missing from meals, how oddly spaced my own eating times were and where just tiny tweaks could make a huge impact.
Gym rat Megan,
Exactly what I was looking for! Just missing a few things
I love this app! Very easy to use and snapping a picture is so convenient. The only things I wish were added is the ability to import pictures from your photo album and "favorites" or "history" so you don't have to write the same thing (sometimes eating healthy with a time constraint means eating the same thing allllllll the time). Please add!! Overall, fabulous job.
