The only reason this rating doesn’t have 5 stars is because ethos app NEEDS upgrading!! There are glitches! When I click on a photo to enlarge it from the Home Screen there is no swipe function to return back to Home Screen in the position I was scrolling in and the arrow bars to move back a forth btw pages DO NOT WORK! I’m not sure if it’s my phones compatibility with the system I have an iPhone SE 2020 and update my iOS every time there’s an upgrade so it not me. I would love if the interface was more colorful like I get it we’re black the app is for black women but must it remain so dreary looking?! WE NEED COLOR! I literally just downloaded it so I will keep reviewing as I find issues so please developers do something about my issues I’m tired of our stuff (black people stuff) constantly being sub par. The app content is AMAZING and I love that we have a space for us I really just want the apps greatness to reflect ours 😘❤️ CRITICISMS SENT WITH LOVE ❤️

To be honest it is a great idea and it is good but it is just on like the original Pinterest. It is way harder to get around on the app. When I was trying it out I saw some things I had like but I couldn’t save the images like the other Pinterest. And the back button would be frozen and I would have to exit the whole app to go back to the page I was looking at. And I would rather go back to writing “on black girl” cause it is just easier.😁

The app is nice and easy to use, but there are some issues that need to be fixed. I’ve been trying to edit my profile but it won’t let me do anything. I tried to add a profile and cover picture with no success. Tried different sizes, tried the size they suggested and still nothing. Basically I can’t do anything to edit the profile section. And the last thing is about ads. It’s nice and all that the app is free and therefore ads are needed, but this is just on another level. I barely have the time to click on something that there’s an ad popping up and as if it wasn’t enough as soon as the ad ends there are one or two others immediately popping up again within seconds.
I don’t mind the ads but the fact that they pop up every second just makes the app unusable and that’s really unfortunate.

Incredibly irritating, which is super disappointing considering how much hope I had in this app. If y’all are in need of money you’re gonna have to find a different way soon, because I can’t imagine this app being successful in the long term with pop-up ads, on top of the execution issues that were already present. I was willing to live with some of the glitches for the time being just because of how rewarding the imagery on the app was for me, and because I understand that a project on this scale must be difficult to manage. I loved the concept of the app and the content I was seeing on it, but I just can’t use an app with those ugly and annoying pop-up ads.

I’ll check in again at some other time to see if anything changes and I’ll amend my review in that case, and if it doesn’t change I’ll just have to let this app go.

Love the idea of an app where I don’t have to type “black girl” after every search! However, the app needs a few tweaks before it could replace Pinterest in my phone. Mainly, the app need to be optimized for larger phones (iPhone 10 and up), it feels like I’m squinting to see the content. It would also be nice if the ads were integrated into the app a little more seamlessly, as opposed to popping up in the middle of the screen or a banner that covers the menu options. Lastly, more searchable content would make me want to stay on the app longer. If these things were fixed, the app would feel higher quality; I’d definitely use it as my main search engine!

I rarely post reviews but I support this app for us. This app has so much potential, but the ads are just ridiculous. Please take notes from Pinterest and put the ads within the posts. Cause them pop up ads ain’t the move at all. It’s annoying to the point I just deleted the app. I will check back in a few months to see if there has been any changes or updates. Until then take the time to fix the bugs and glitches so it can be more easily navigated and user friendly. I hope the developers are really taking feedback into account to make this app be successful. We need this app.

I’m happy to see a platform just for us. I would like it to feel a bit more organized the amount of ad pop ups is a bit irritating. I would like to see it progress in a more cleaner layout for the iOS version. Other than that and a few bug fixes. This app could go very far and I very much would like to see it

I love this app wish more knew about it but I will be creating and adding a lot of content to this for people who enjoy to make it our own and be very saturated with amazing things. I hope the app does get updated as it seems to be a bit out of style compared to Pinterest I hope we can get our own style and less old app feeling overall love

This app has been incredible and deserves more hype because it’s honestly so good for black people, it’s finally an app that shows a lot of BLACK PEOPLE without white people. Finally an app that where you search up hairstyles it actually shows black people and not only white people. Thank you to the creators who made this app, you guys really did a great thing which I thank you for.💕

This app is great for our culture I excited to see the great ideas that’s available, but I just downloaded the app a couple days ago and every time I go to the app it has a big loading box right in The center of the page. which is disappointing I don’t know if it’s a glitch because the app still allows me to go to different pages and look around at other boards. I will try to uninstall again but if that does not help I will stay uninstall and wait for an update.
