This app is awesome and just what I dreamed of plus more! I have been looking for an app for 8 MONTHS that could be just like the app notes for iOS that comes preloaded on every iPhone and iPad and iPod, but I wanted more features to it such as pictures, copy and pasting pictures and anything, and then when I opened this app it showed that I could add voice, pictures, audio, and FINALLY an app that can type on a piece of paper without having to use a stupid text box! I hate all apps that use text boxes for notes because it gets really confusing and old when you want to type long notes, or you want the typed words directly on one line. Thank you so much this is my dream app!!! I AM DEFINITELY UPGRADING TO THE PRO VERSION!!! People that are reading this review it is true, this app is amazing. why have I never heard of this app-- it's not popular and It has so many great features to it, I think it is better than notability even though notability has more features, this app is the ultimate best. People, please make this app go to top charts, it deserves to be in 30th place or so!!!! AWESOME APP THANKS SOOOO MUCH CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS APP UNTIL TODAY!! Bravo!

Asian language text problems
I really wanted to like this app; the feature set is pretty good, but there is a problem with Asian language text (Chinese or Japanese) on a note. You can enter the text in the note fine but any the Asian language text simply disappears when the note is e-mailed as a pdf, while other text (even in Greek, Cyrillic, and Hebrew alphabets) remains. If the note is e-mailed as a picture, the Asian language text appears, but then you cannot copy and paste it.
I see that no specifically Chinese/Japanese fonts are options in the app, but this should not be an obstacle, given that in Apple's Notes, you normally have *no* choice of font, but it still understands when you are inputting Chinese and switches automatically to an appropriate font. Similarly, NoteMaster has no problem with Chinese/Japanese even with the same font (Helvetica) chosen as I had in Mental Note, and AwesomeNote also handles Chinese/Japanese with the default font setting. Maybe the difference is these other apps all export text as text, not as a pdf. But the inability to export text by e-mail is my other main objection to MentalNote.
If the language support doesn't matter to you and your focus is more one audio and images, rather than text, then this is a nice app. It would be better, though, if there were one universal app, rather than separate iPad and iPhone apps.

Busy Mind!
I have a lot of thoughts going thru my head all of the time and I usually like to keep a pen and pad somewhere near my usual thinking places, but then I have small notes everywhere and the thoughts I thought I was saving become lost among the papers. Sooo I found this app while frustrated by my influx of thoughts (end of month at work, end of semester in school, and beginning of summer which means setting out goals)... Let's just say this app was the RELIEF my mind needed. I can put it all out in drawings or typing or any of their other options and it's all down in the same place available for review on a object that's always with me, my phone sure my brains always with me but not always so organized. Let's just say i feel this app was made for me :)

I just wanted an app that would allow me to take photos of hand written notes and cross them off manually. This app does exactly that, and you are not limited to the photos you can add in one note. No crashing, either.
If you don't like it, delete it. It's a FREE app. Think of it as a little gift. Of course it doesn't do everything the full version does; otherwise, why would anyone buy the full version? (Compare to the concept of a test drive. You get to take it for a spin, but that doesn't mean you get to keep it.)
I, on the other hand, am totally digging it and will probably upgrade. Many thanks to the developers for the freebie!

Missing just one thing for 5 stars ...
I really love this Notes replacement! Even though I haven't used any of the multimedia features yet, even the text and fingerwriting capabilities alone put Notes to shame. I would just really, really love to see one more crucial feature: Just like there is for new SMS messages, e-mails, and missed calls, there needs to be an option to have a badge on the program icon showing how many notes are saved so that I don't forget about important notes saved within the app. I would gladly pay to have this feature. Please, please make it happen!

This is perfect. Simple. Not bloated. All functions DO WORK in lite version and I DO NOT mind the watermark in lite version because it's LITE! I never would have tried this if it didn't have a lite version and now, after trying lite versions of many note apps, over a couple months, I'm BUYING this one. It's perfect. I will finally delete the other lite versions of note apps and put this one on my home page. Finally.

Perfect for the iPhone Platform
This app is a great idea. It seems the perfect software for a portable platform that has a camera and a really great touchscreen.
I would love to upgrade to the paid version (and I'd pay more than $1.99) but I really would like to see pen width and color settings. And perhaps make the prompt for using my location go away. It's not clear why the app wants to know that and unless there's a really good reason it's just plain annoying.

Loving it!
I love this app. Read the other reviews and was shocked. I think they did not fully move through the whole application. I easily made notes, captioned photos, and drew pictures in colors with my finger. This has quickly become my new favorite note pad. Great idea! Many thanks. Room for growth: add the colors orange and brown. I will gladly upgrade...

Lots of features but needs a little more
I've been using this app primarily to draw on photos. It has good basic editing tools. You can change line thicknesses and color. And you can erase. It would be nice if you could change line styles and if the eraser could be a little bit more refined and accurate. I also find myself wishing that I could sort the tabs manually. Sometimes when I assign multiple tags then try to eliminate one the app crashes.

I don't like software that beats me up for not registgering
I am playing with the lite version. I understand the limitation that I can only create two notes. So, I created anote an emailed to a friend. He asked me what that watermark was on my picture telling HIM to upgrade and why HE had to pay 2.99 to read my email.
This is because this company is not satisified with just limitng functionality, they have to tell everyone that I am using the lite version. Crippleware is one thing, advertiseware is something different and you have lost a customer for life. Goodbye.
