Description

Minesweeper – it's all fun and games until that 50/50 guess. So we decided to remove the guessing.

Mineswifter uses an advanced Minesweeper AI to make sure each board is solvable before giving it to you. This lets you skip the nonsense and SWIFTLY go to the boards you actually wanted to play.

PERFECTLY NATURAL

Mineswifter is designed with a modern and beautiful user interface. Customize everything from the background colors to your play style to make the game work exactly the way you want. Works great with split-screen and a mouse on iPad!

REAL HINTS

Every board is solvable, but not every board is easy. That's why we added a hint system that uses the power of the Minesweeper AI to show you exactly which part of the board is solvable next.

UNDO YOUR MISTAKES

Accidentally click on a mine? No problem! Since every board is solvable, there are no game overs – simply click the Undo popover and keep playing. Mistakes add 10 seconds to your time.

STAT TRACKING

The main statistic tracked in Mineswifter is the perfect game, which is a board completed without mistakes or hints. Try to beat your longest perfect streak or your average time!

DAILY CHALLENGES

Mineswifter also offers daily challenges, which can generally be completed within a few minutes. Each one is carefully curated to make sure it's fun and rewarding for both new and experienced players. Check the stats to compare your performance to players from around the world!

Dr. Sam Adams,
Wow, finally
I played the free version and it was so brilliant I felt bad not paying for it so I did. I haven’t even tried it yet but based on the other reviews, I’m sure it will be great. The one game I played so far on the hardest mode available was solvable but not easy. I got stuck at a few points and questioned whether it was really solvable but decided to try and logic it out and figured out that I could.

I found the flagging and uncovering function to be a tiny bit clunky but apparently that’s customizable in the paid version so I’m sure I’ll manage. It was nonetheless a clever scheme and the biggest issues were the limitations of the phone rather than the app. I’ll try the pinch to zoom and see how I like it.

It is refreshing to be able to play minesweeper and devote your full intelligence to the puzzle instead of just clicking through a 99 mine field that will inevitably rely on guessing right at multiple points. This app is a gem.
Natacado,
Perfecting a simple game
It’s hard to find fault here. Minesweeper is a simple game that’s been done many times, but knowing that every level can be completed without guessing has made me stop and think longer, learn new patterns, and play more often because I don’t feel like the board is rooting against me.

Add to it the fact the the interface is pretty much a perfectly polished app - graphics are great, pinch-to-zoom works, and the options for how to flag mines vs reveal spaces is customizable makes it hard for me to even suggest improvements.
y87rpw24,
Love this! Great for no-guessing Minesweeper
Really well polished app, I like the daily challenges and touch vibration. I still like “original” minesweeper but this is great to play games which are always solvable (no guessing) and to just become a better player. Love being able to see stats on other players time and getting a “perfect” score. I do wish the zooming in wouldn’t snap to the edge and that I could recenter more easily, it’s sometimes hard to tap on the edge of my phone. Great app overall!
ArriEllie,
Love it
I have learned so much about minesweeper strategy by playing this. The interface is fantastic. Making every game solvable fixes the biggest annoyance I had with minesweeper and on top of that makes it much easier to learn strategy because you know there are no 50/50s. The hints tell you where you should be looking, each time I use it I learn something new! If you asked me to come up with one thing that could be improved, I could not. Simply fantastic.
N00dle_king,
Great app but…
I love this app and it makes minesweeper so much more fun. But could you please please please show us the time average only for perfect games when we get one for the daily game. If I get a perfect game in seven minutes and the average is four minutes it takes away some of my satisfaction from getting the perfect game because it makes me feel slow even though I don’t know how long those people would have taken if it was only perfect games.
mikeharwitz,
Best minesweeper I’ve found on iOS.
Great UI, looks nice, play is very intuitive. I love the way it guarantees that the mines are placed in a way that the entire board can be solved without any need for 50/50 guesses. Knowing that, it adds an extra challenge on harder levels to think through the possibilities and deduce at least one free or mine square that then opens up more clues. If you haven’t played this enough for that to make sense, try a few games and you will see what I mean. Literally hours of fun with this game.
Positronic Matrix,
Best Minesweeper Game on App Store
This game has a lot of polish and style. I appreciate that the first move doesn’t land on a mine by default and the hints (with a time penalty) are brilliant. I love the undo as well, that prevents an honest mistake from ruining a game. This is the Minesweeper update that I’ve been looking for.

The other clone I have been playing has a dated appearance and is plagued with adds. I hope you find a way to monetise this. I’d pay to purchase it or to download add ons.
whocameupwiththis?,
Well conceived
This take on the old mine game actually improves on the original. While most of these games in the App Store are a lazy rip-off with no functionality and worse game mechanics than the original, the developer of this gem actually put some thought into it. I sense they must be a fan of the game :-)
Simple yet powerful, I highly recommend Mineswifter.
mkbuzz1,
Needs some tweaks
I like the app and that everything is solvable. I would love to see an option to change hold length to mark bombs and the way to do it in the game is a bit finicky and doesn’t work all the time. At times, some squares are unresponsive and don’t do anything until I move the screen. Overall good but not great for someone trying to go fast.

Edit: new update makes gameplay incredibly smoother and cut my solve times in half. added a star.
heygarrett,
Clean, elegant and fun
This is THE best game of Minesweeper I’ve ever played, and it’s super accessible on iOS. I’m a stickler for UX and Mineswifter does it well. Looking at my Screen Time right now, I played this game for 11 hours 7 minutes last week; I’ve gotten more value out of this game than any AAA title I’ve played on PC or console. Even if you’re familiar with Minesweeper but never loved it, give this app a try.
