Description

MIT App Inventor is an educational tool to learn computational thinking and computational action principles through building mobile apps. Used by over one million people worldwide every year, it is one of the premier platforms for computer science education. Use this companion app to test drive projects, debug blocks code, and show your friends and family your creations. Using a blocks based programming language, design and code your own projects, or use one of the many books and curricula to learn about coding. App Inventor also includes built-in tutorials for running student workshops.

This version of App Inventor includes over 60 components, from user interface elements such as buttons and switches, to sensors, connectivity and multimedia components so your projects can interact with the world.

OreoRater,
Works, but also doesn’t…
This app would be good, except half of the time I can’t make an app since it crashes so much. It is also so laggy that when you try to tap something or fling something like a ball sprite, it takes minutes to register. Would be better if it wasn’t so buggy.
Missionpilotscott,
It works!
I didn’t think I’d ever see something like this on iOS. Sure, for now you can only run the app while connected to your computer, with the app open on the website, but wow! I was able to get the Kitty app working in a few minutes. I’m going to play with the accelerometer and maybe controlling a Raspberry Pi. It will be great if they get the compiler working.
neyatsuka,
This app is awful
This app will make you develop cystic fibrosis and late stage colon cancer because of how bad it is it is so laggy and so glitchy to the point where I want to blow my brains out because of how annonying it is this app is not recommended to no one not even to my greatest enemies I wouldn’t wish this awful app to anyone because of how bad it is this app is worth nothing and will be the most awful app ever no matter it will make your friends turn in to a vast delusion because of the app it will make you go crazy
Ic¥wolf$37393🐺,
Can’t get into the app
It’s a cool thing to do on your computer when trying to make an app, but the app itself for this doesn’t even work at all. I downloaded the app and tried to enter into it, and it just takes me back into the Home Screen of my phone. It also gives you a headache which is pretty aggravating. So if you want to download This, don’t, the app’s broken and it barely works. 😞
SophieMIT22,
Now works on iPhone and iPad!
Very glad that App Inventor is now out of beta and works on iOS. After teaching and learning with it for years, I can finally use it on my own phone
Neca1211,
Horrible app don’t use these teacher!!!!!
My teacher told us to make app and then we tried to try out the app using this campion app it is not doing its job. It’s very glitch and messed up, u won’t recommend I remember it worked once and never again. Please fixed this also I’m getting extra credit by leaving a review since this app making was supposed to be for a grade but I can’t do it!!
s3ctorsev3n,
Nice idea if it worked
I got this because I love the idea of a simple, easy, visual way for my kids to learn programming and actually have a real app at the end of the process but I have not once gotten the AI companion to work. Even the tutorial app hellopurr will not load beyond 75% in the AI companion on my phone. both the phone and the computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. it’s an iPhone connecting to a MacBook.
tres.x,
Trash.
This App is absolutely terrible. It only works well on androids and the process to create our apps is a hassle. for newer iphones, it doesn’t work at all. i highly recommend you try to make it eligible to all phone users instead of just androids because what fun can we have if we can’t do what we want to do ? do better.
Robin Doggie,
Connection issues, but a good classroom tool.
It doesn’t allow me to access the apps unless I’m using the same Wi-Fi as the host computer.
MMaddyx,
Perfect for school
This app is so useful for when you are in school and have to work on apps. 5 stars!
