Disable Free Drive Mode?
We love the Sphero Edu app and the ability to help kids understand the basics of coding!
The only problem we have is that kids will often get sidetracked once they find out how to just drive the sphero around like an RC car. Is there any way to disable this feature? That’d be really helpful. If there isn’t a way to currently do this it’d be something nice to see in future updates!!

Something wrong with my bolt
I used to love Sphero but I am very disappointed at it now. I got a Sphero bolt for Christmas a year ago,I didn't use it just much and it was very well taken care of but 3 months later it wouldn't charge . I contacted sphero customer support somebody told me a couple things that I could try but that didn't work. I got it for Christmas so I don't know where it was from I didn't have the box either. I was told that I could only get a replacement if it was from the Sphero itself. My bolt broke within the one year warranty. Although I am frustrated with Sphero, Devrann Harding was a good customer support agent.

First, I would like to know if there is any way to block people. I was scrolling through the programs people posted and saw something very very disturbingly creepy (I can’t unsee it now) that somebody decided to use as the pic they posted the program with. Kids my age shouldn’t have to see what I saw, that was too much for me to handle. If there is already a way to block people, I probably haven’t been looking hard enough, lol 😂
Also, I think that we should be able to do more stuff besides make programs if you don’t have a public account. It would be nice if there was a little guide that told you what each block does—e.g. explain how they work. I’m a first time programmer so I don’t know what “create a variable” and “true && true” means. Thx!
Overall this is pretty fun. But since I don’t know what most of the blocks do—except for “move” and “speak”, ha ha—it’s gotten hard to create most programs. Thanks for understanding!

Great app even for non programers. Just add microphone option
Great app. There are a a bunch of programs from the sphero community and I was even able to create my own through simple dragging and dropping some blocks. i am not a programmer but I could learn to use it without trouble.
I love that I can set how my sphero moves, make sounds and speak. The sound library is good but I wish I could add my own sounds. Is it possible to enable the app to use a microphone so i could record my own sounds? Or at least include one from my ipad library? These would be a simple but great functionality to add in a future update.

New Bolt refuses to Update Firmware. No clear Answers.
Brand new bolt opened for my son as a gift. Using Sphero Edu app as instructed. Detects Sphero and attempts to update required firmware. Fully charged battery. Using updated IPhone and also attempted with IPad. Sphero will flash Orange as firmware downloads from 0-100% then flashes red and firmware starts over. Will not complete and will continue this stuck process perpetually. Really disappointed in the difficulty and vague instructions for this. Doing everything correctly as indicated by Sphero. Also worried about recent poor reviews of support and bugs/glitches. Is the company going under? My son really wants to play with this. Help!

I think that this is the best app and robot in the world. I just want to ask for a modification. Its the camera. I kind of was expecting that the robot had a camera built in, so when I saw the word camera I thought that it would show what the robot saw. I was a bit disappointed. I hope you consider this, Thanks.

Garbage Company
Sphero is a garbage, scam company. Have 3 droids (BB-8, R2-D2 and BB-9E) and Lightning McQueen that no longer work because of this company just deciding to no longer make usable apps for them. Literally close to $1000 in items bought from this company that less than 10 years (5 in the case of Lightning McQueen) that just basically no longer usable.
Go preach your education and building for the future somewhere else because the only thing you’ve educated me on is you only care about the money not the product.
Unfortunately I can’t give ZERO stars because that’s what you would get.

No longer working
I had my BB-8 for two years, downloaded this app, and it was working fine. But, after a few days, my BB-8 no longer connects! I think it’s something to do with its antenna falling off, but I’m not sure. The BB-8 app works perfectly, but not this app! Please fix this!
Edit: I finally got it to connect to BB-8, but now I can’t start the program! Please fix this!

Connection issues
I had a bb8 when they came out in 2015 and it was great and I just found it again recently, basically mint, and I figured out that the original app no longer exists. So I found out that this app is compatible but every time I try to connect to it, it says connecting but does it for ages or the app will freeze and it never does connect. Quite sad that they charged $150 for these things in 2015 and now they are basically out of commission. This company blows and I will not buy any more products from it.

Worst app from Sphero that I have seen yet. I used to use 2 different apps to control my BB8 droid they had cool features like boosting and buttons to press to make BB8 shake his head, nod, survey etc. Since they have removed the other apps and moved into the EDU they have not added anything to make the droid enjoyable to drive. I can now only select one speed and have a joystick for directions that is all. They need to bring the better features over to this one I no longer receive what I paid for.
