• SHAPES OF THE STATES
Through an engaging, interactive tracing exercise, we focus on the shapes of the states.

Tylert livastoighs,
Definitely taught me the states, but a few improvements needed.
This app was a great way to learn the fifty American states, but a few things could be changed to make the experience better. If anyone has the few dollars to spare and an interest in memorizing the states, this is a good app to consider downloading. I know it's a newly released app and has some things to work out, which is why I'm leaving this review. First of all, I don't know why the age range is so specific and so low. This app can really be used by anyone with the passion to learn the states. Some of the content I feel like was added just to add more content (the native animals to each state, which really wasn't necessary). The different levels were a nice way to cover over all 50 states at the right pace, which is something I really enjoyed and knew was a nice touch. Maybe some award (for the kids)-- or really just a blank map quiz over all states would be good to have after all content has been completed. I like this app and will be keeping it. It did teach me the fifty states very easily, but more improvements and additional content can and should be added. I recommend the app!
acvgs see h,

Loaffan,
Didn't work on iPhone 6
Tried using this and it did not work correctly.

Can’t move the states
The app responds poorly to touch and is very frustrating for children. You can’t “move a state” if the state won’t move.
Beritoc,
Incorrect State Information
The app mixes up Tennessee and Ohio. Plus it is very slow!
Chido36,
Not working
The states will not move when touched to drag in place. Please fix.

My 5-Year-Old Loves This...
...along with the world countries version! He knows all the countries and I'm sure he will soon know all the states too. We play a "name-the-country" game in the store while shopping when he's bored (from memory, without the phone).

I do question the choice of animals for some of the states, though. A cat for Maryland!? Really? Why not a blue crab?? At least they didn't pick a wolverine for Michigan. In general, too many white-tailed deer. There's got to be more variety of animals available out there!

Great learning tool and fun, too!

A Grandma's Perspective
I always install the Montessorium apps into my phone so I can enjoy them with my grandchildren. I love this latest one because I love geography and unfortunately it is no longer stressed in education, as near as I can tell. It says ages 6-8 but this 65 year old is learning a lot she did not know…..I also really like the repetition, presented differently for each set of states. Excellent app for kids and adults too, as far as I can see. Plus so nice to see something that is not all constant action and "busy-ness", like so many of the apps available for kids.

My 6 Year Old Loves It!
My daughter is a little map lover and she LOVED this app. She spent over 45 minutes on her first use, because she wanted to "finish all 50." She was particularly excited to see the illustrated animals at the end of each group of states. I'm confident that this educational app would be worthwhile for short uses around the house or long road trips across the country.
Drummerbrin,
OK App
I like the app. It needs a lot of improvement though. I wish it introduced the state capitals, they are more important to learn then the state animals for primary learners. Tracing the states needs to be more controlled for accuracy if the point is to learn its shape my memory, otherwise pointless. Also, would be good to mention the state regions so kids understand the geography, no mention in app.

My son likes matching the states to its name but not interested in the tracing or matching of animals to its state.

Overall a little over priced for what you get in return. Not a great investment.
