Mountain Climber: Frozen Dream Hack 1.7 + Redeem Codes

It’s better than I expected, but it’s clearly based off Celeste. I do like that it has its own added mechanics and clever ideas. The developer did a great job, and I’m impressed. But Celeste is a masterpiece, and this doesn’t come close. But for a mobile game, it’s pretty great. The fact that the controls are all tapping is also really good. Developing a game is hard, and the one person who made this probably put a lot of work into this.

It’s no secret that this game is meant to be a straight copy of Celeste. It basically reuses the exact same artwork and puts a calming piano song in the background. Problem is, this game fails at copying one thing about Celeste, that one thing being that Celeste is a good game, while this is a major cash grab meant to be as unfair as it can be to force you to pay money. To give credit where credit is due, I do not think the programmer did a bad job. The physics work mostly fine, but I think that’s the only thing that’s just ok in this (I still wouldn’t be surprised to discover the physics were not written by the programmer). Now onto the big issue with this game, is it isn’t meant to be fair. You are given limited lives, you die if you fall below where you previously were, and spikes have unfairly massive hit boxes. On level 3, if you dash in an area with moving spikes, you are dead. I thought something seemed weird, so I screen recorded, and sure enough, I died even though there was 0 spikes around me. If you wanted to play a pixelated platforming game, pick up Celeste. It’s gonna cost you a lot less than this game is forcing you to pay and you’re gonna get a lot more game. I wouldn’t say this game is worth installing.

Pretty good game but the amount of advertising in the free version is obnoxious. Ads are inserted into the gameplay in three separate ways: banner ads, ads when you lose all your lives, and then randomly after any death. One of these might seem fair, especially the 30 second ad you have to watch after you lose all of your lives, but the other two—the banner ad that runs constantly on the bottom of the screen, and the random forced ads when you die (but haven’t lost all your lives yet)—are awful and annoying. One might see this and purchase the ad free version but this level of in game advertising is so reprehensible that not only will I not pay for the ad free version, but I will abandon the game entirely because I’m so soured by the grossness of the in game advertising. Why would a developer accept this level of adulteration to his game?

Yes this is a Celeste rip off but does that make this a bad game? No it does not however I do agree that the ads and lives system is a bit dumb, I should NOT be punished over and my vet going through level to level because of some bs spike and jumps I have to get just right in 6 or even 3 tries. While there are a few problems with the game there are some highlights worth mentioning.
1. The ring system - this allows you to adjust your lives to up or downgrade the difficulty
2. Mountain theme - this sticks with mountain theme through and through and doesn’t have any weird space blocks
3. Short and enjoyable- it’s short difficult and fun to play.
If you don’t mind the flaws get it but don’t waste your money on hearts or no ads

It rips its art style and game mechanics straight from Celeste, but without the decency to make it a good ripoff. Instead of an actual decent platformer like its “Inspiration”, it’s just an auto runner that rips off the dash mechanic. Not only does it rip off Celeste’s art style and mechanics, but the very first conversation in the game is also ripped straight from Celeste, with a bit of Undertale thrown in for whatever reason. Actually, they don’t only throw in an Undertale “reference” in the first conversation, but the death screen also seems suspiciously like the six souls or whatever.

Point is, it’s a shameless ripoff, and not even a fun one. It’s just a dime-a-dozen auto runner that’s been done a million times before in much better ways, which is also infested with ads. Just don’t get it.

It’s motivational in the sense of body positivity and showing that you don’t have to live up to any expectations but your own that you make. Also motivating in the way that you can do whatever you want as long as you have the will then you’ll find a way, and the music oh my goodness so mystical and soothing. All around beautiful and wonderful game I just had some issues with the controls so I kept failing over and over but again all around Gorgeous game keep up the great work Ruben♡

Yeah yeah I know, this game is a copy of Celeste. Let’s get that out of the way. As someone who’s played Celeste, yes I can say it’s pretty much like that. It’s more linear by you going straight up rather than all directions but I digress.

Ok now for the selling point: Do I think this game is good?

My answer —> Yes. Even if it’s sharing lots of assets from Celeste, still worth a play. It’s not one I of those cheap knock off Marios where it has trash controls and an ad every 5 seconds. There’s actual effort in here.

If I made this game, I’d have it so you have this guy in the medieval times climbing up 3 towers (with their own little levels) and 2 of them have a key. At the 3rd tower you insert both keys and it’s 2 long difficult levels (fairly difficult, not just a super spike), and then once you beat that there’s a wand and you save the world or something. Maybe that could be your next game!

The story is quirky and fun, it has a good level of casual/hard difficulty, and is worth the $2 to get rid of forced ads now that that’s an option.

Pro-tip: You can go back to the home screen at any time, un-equip and re-equip the life ring and get all your health back (Hey developers, please DONT patch that. Haha.)

This game is promising in concept. A simple platformer with only a few basic controls. It has great pixel art and ost, but has 2 major flaws that make the game much less enjoyable

1. It is riddled with ads. It gives you ads when you die, it gives you ads when you succeed, it give you ads whenever it feels like it. (It also seems to increase the amount of random ads it gives to you the more you play). I would honestly prefer it to cost money rather that have ads that ruin the game.

2. The writing isn’t great. Half of the game seems to want to be deep and emotional, the other wants to be comedic and lighthearted. This combination can be pulled off beautifully, but it just doesn’t work here, it ends up with a weird vibe.

Tldr: it seems like a simple indie game at first, but ends up just seeming like the developers gave up half way through.

Its kinda like celeste (if you dont know what that is you probably haven’t played it or something)
And the cursed ring just gives you one heart and im not doing all that agian with only one heart
But its still a good game
I wish i could actually control my character not play leap day or Mario run(🤣(leap day and Mario run are still pretty fun games))
And another thing plz add a ring that gives you infinite lives
