Free official guide to the Museo Galileo.
This guide will accompany your visit with audio commentary, text pages, and videos as you discover the outstanding collections of scientific instruments gathered over approximately four centuries by the Medici and Lorraine dynasties. Toward the mid-sixteenth century, Cosimo I de’ Medici formed the first nucleus of the collections exhibited in the Museum today. Highlights include all the original instruments designed by Galileo, including his only two surviving telescopes.
The guide provides information on all the items on display.

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
I’ve been on many tours which have audio guides to help people understand what’s in the museum a lot more clearly. However, a common trend I see in these audio guides is the lack of sound quality. They are usually difficult to understand, but this audio guide’s sound quality is top notch. Everything is clear and easy to understand. The only part this app falls short on is the fact that the phone needs to be on to play the audio. Other than that this is a really great audio guide.

Great content but terrible app
The content in this app is great, but the app itself is impossible to use. Audio pauses if your phone goes to sleep, then restarts from the beginning when you unlock again. It's not possible to read any of the audio transcripts if you don't have earbuds, even thought the app claims that you can. Difficult to navigate around, and not clear you should click on the headphone icon to hear audio for each item instead of the videos listed below on each page. This really added an unnecessary level of frustration to an otherwise wonderful museum.

Great Museum for historical Science Enthusiasts with Solid app to Boot
Well made app! The audio segments are a good brief length, the rooms within the app are simple to navigate, the app is free, and the information within the app is applicable and informative with options for a more in depth look when you wish to know more. And the app is free plus the Museo supplies free WiFi! - bring ear buds for the best experience.
Dirtdobler,
Worked well for my visit
I almost skipped downloading the app due to the many reviews stating it didn’t work. However, it worked well for me during my visit to the museum today. I feel it really enhanced the experience.
voska,
Terrible app
1. It crashes whenever I switched to the camera app, so I had to start over and find my place every time I wanted to take a photo of something in the museum
2. The audio stops playing when your screen turns off and it doesn’t keep the screen on, so it’s constantly stopping and I have to take my mask off to unlock my phone again.
Please fix, it’s really terrible because of these two things.

Great idea, poor implementation
I was excited to use this app to accompany my visit to the museum. But it was a disaster. Frequently hung or crashed on opening. When it did open the navigation was broken. I heard the description of one entry and then there was no way to go back. Very disappointing. I hope they can fix this app for future visitors.
Chriswphoto,
Awesome addition to the museum visit
One of the better companion apps I've see for a museum. Lots of good info on the collection

Slow and buggy
It’s basically just a website. Everything needs to loads and it loads slow. Also frequently with just give you errors until you get lucky one time and it lets you in.
