FriendlyV,
Good at first, but quickly formulaic recycling
Basically, once you play through the first dungeon you’ve gotten >50% of the game’s experience, and I’d recommend being done. With so many items and whatnot, it might seem like there’s depth or secrets to explore, but as far as I could tell there isn’t really: the game is mostly just a huge rinse and repeat every dungeon, and then you beat the final boss and… that’s mostly it. The combat is fairly clunky and repetitive—especially if you use the short sword (it’s just “attack, hold block, sometimes roll, repeat”).
However, that initial experience sure is interesting, and if you like optimization you’ll probably like the idea at first. But don’t let the tease of deeper secrets (e.g., the golem jottings, the books) fool you: it’s mostly an interesting concept (fight in dungeons then be a shopkeeper with the loot) that was stretched beyond its carrying capacity.
adruex,
Fun game with straightforward mechanics
I had a good time with the game. Combat can be fun and challenging at first but once you get comfortable with a play style you should be able to easily handle most of the challenges in the game. The most interesting part of it for me has been the shopkeeping mechanic. Trying to optimize product prices and seeing the money roll in was great, but I wish it was fleshed out. The story is interesting but simple once you get into play through the dungeons. There’s not much lore to uncover and no endgame play. Overall, I recommend it for a few afternoons for those with a Netflix account!
sigmawins,
Sadly, don’t waste your time
Okay. The good stuff: The game is actually fantastic. It has all the classic elements of an RPG that you’d hope for. It’s fun, enjoyable, looks good, not pay-to-win (no paying at all for this version), has good progression, semi-addictive for dungeon diving, and so many other good things. Great, right?

Now the bad stuff: For the love of god, why are you not able to save your progress? There is no option to manually save. And being on-par with most other Netflix games I try, the autosave data will be randomly deleted for no discernible reason. I spent a dozen hours diving into this really wonderful, fun, beautiful game and made progress, only to have the fickle software delete all autosave data. I have nothing to show for my time.

This has happened to me with all the Netflix games I have tried before. I’m done. They have some great games with absolute crap implementation because Netflix is incapable of handling the simple problem of save data. Netflix’s push to breach into games is floundering and they have no one to blame except themselves.

For what it’s worth, I may get the game on Switch because the game is fun, but I blame Netflix for most of their games losing users’ save data intermittently.

Terrible controls
This game is amazing, and it's sad to see Netflix completely botch the mobile implementation of it.

Aside from being a subscription-only game now, whereas in the past it was a one-time-purchase game, this game also has barely-acceptable mobile controls, and substandard hardware controller support. There's no way to change the control scheme like there is on PC, there's no button layout information, there's no menu navigation via controller, there's no pendant or map buttons, there's no way to disable on-screen buttons when using a controller. It's got a lot of work ahead of it, and seeing as how it's now subscription-based, it's totally unacceptable that these issues still aren't fixed.

Great game, when it works
I do really enjoy this game, when I can actually get it to work. The graphics are wonderful, the story is fun, and the fight mechanics are (relatively) easy to figure out. However, it’s impossible to get the player character to face the correct way 50% of the time, the game has weird bugs, and I haven’t been able to get into my game for the last two days. If those issues get fixed, this game will be nearly perfect. Until then, I’ll keep playing other games (especially because I can’t even play this one at the moment).
digipets5,
Game is awesome but glitchy; lost all data
I liked playing this game since there's so much to do between exploring dungeons and running your shop. BUT it claims to have cloud save data but it doesnt; i had a problem with the app not loading so had to reinstall and the data was not backed up anywhere even though they claimed it is. I started over from scratch and is more than halfway through the main story (opened 3rd of 5 doors) but when i just went into the app, it shows the "new game" button and no continue or load game buttons like it's suppose to; my game data is gone!!

So fun to play but be prepared that it's only for a few hours since your data will be mysteriously deleted when you least expect it to.

Fairly Fun…increasingly bugging as you progress
I honestly didn’t hear about this game when it was on pc which is surprising. A lot of fun, although I’ve put in about 20 hrs between two game files for both to essentially turn to boot screen failures whenever I return to the dungeon. The screen just continuously loads. It doesn’t matter how many days I progress through going to sleep, remains the same. on top of that beforehand had multiple time where the touchscreen navigation features failed, crashes, items being duplicated or disappearing when stopping thieves. Netflix may be biting off more than they can chew with trying to integrate gaming into their catalog.
jeshika00,
Was nice
For about 3 days of playing. Then it got a bit glitchy, weapons duplicating themselves but when I tried to figure it out they deleted themselves, as well. Bye-bye dungeons of material gathering and 1mil+ G… Then it started not saving my game. Then I tried erasing my games and starting over. I’ve done that 4 times. I honestly hate that I love this game at the moment, it’s so frustrating. Opening it on its own or through Netflix results in the loading screen (a closed dungeon door, how appropriate…) indefinitely. The only workaround I have so far is reinstall the game, have no apps running in the background, start it and HOPE that somewhere the most RECENT save data was kept. It isn’t always.
Vargoyl,
Great game, but this version is riddled with bugs
I’ve played Moonlighter on switch and on pc, and was curious to see how it translated to a touch screen. While the game largely works, it is riddled with bugs. Pathing randomly fails, items don’t transfer as expected, accidental equipment duplication. I cleared the second dungeon, only for the game to try and transport me while in the chest interface, resulting in a screen that was heavily pixelated and couldn’t be interacted with. When I restarted, Will woke up in bed with only the top row of inventory as if I had died in the dungeon, and none of the artifacts I had sent home while in the dungeon were in the chest either.

Great game but…
It’s a great little game. Kind of repetitive but constantly changing dungeons and the shop side keep it interesting for me. After a day of working properly, my saved file was just gone had to start a new game frustrating but o well I’m not that far in I can do it again. Ever since when I leave the app I have to stay a new game. It says saving but apparently does not. Has become unplayable; hopefully they release a patch and fix it but seeing as how similar comments go back months I doubt that will happen. Please fix!
