Over the last few days, five mafia bosses have disappeared in mysterious circumstances. A strange liquid and a butterfly were found at the scenes of the disappearances. But this isn't what scared the citizens... Children started to disappear in the city. All of them drew exactly the same butterflies before they disappeared. Laura James, a reporter with the 'Daily News', gets down to her own investigation. She will have to find the team mates, reveal a lot of secrets and solve plenty of puzzles to find out the truth. What dark secrets are hidden in the underground tunnels? Will the main character manage to solve the challenging task and save the ones who disappeared?

Absolutely the best so far puzzle games
I have done the New York Mysteries 1-4 and am now on Lost Lands 1. For the last New York Mysteries, I bought their $6.99 version. I didn’t have to bother with paying for hints as I got stuck. Only on the 2nd Mysteries was I able to complete the whole thing with just a few hints. It is well worth it to me to pay for the paid versions. These games are well done and recommend them. Their website shows many of these games they have made. They are also a company out of Ukraine and I would gladly support a company from there and they are fantastic as well.

Great story & graphics but puzzles too easy
I have absolutely loved FIVE-BN STUDIOs games. I played all the Lost Lands (my favorite games!), Legendary Tales (my second favorite), and Darkness & Flame (my third fave). When I was finished with those, I was excited to play more games from the company but the others (New York Mystery & Legacy ones) haven’t lived up to Lost Lands or Legendary Tales. They have the same large map area where you go back to previous areas to finish things and great graphics, but the puzzles are WAY TOO EASY. For one, there are a bunch of puzzles where you just match 2 images (turn the blocks over & match the images). That’s fine for 1 puzzle but there were quite a few like that in these New York Mysteries and Legacy ones. For two, a lot of the puzzles just take no effort. For example, there were a few puzzles where you had to put the lines all in the center and I had just started moving 2 of them and BOOM, it was finished. I thought, well that was lucky. But it happened again just the same on other puzzles. If you don’t have to put any effort in and think about it, it’s not really fun IMHO. These are fine for someone who thinks the other games are hard or maybe just starting off with games like this. But, if you’re like me and have played a ton of games like these, I don’t think you’d find the puzzles very fun. The story and graphics are great though.

Love New York Mysteries, hate the “buy coins” con
This series of games is one of the best but I am giving it 3 stars because of the fact that the Hint and Skip don’t work unless you have coins. You start with 5 and if you are a really smart gamer that’s fine. But for less experienced players, it’s a problem. Some puzzles are just so repetitive and frustrating that I end up wanting to skip them but the game demands 10 coins to do that. Yes, you can get 30 coins for $2.99 but it’s the principle of the thing. I’m not a miser but I don’t feel like paying more for a game I already purchased. The game allows you to watch an ad to get a coin but cuts you off after four, essentially trying to force you to buy coins. No other games like this have monetized their hints/skips this way. I have no idea why the developers chose to do this but if they need more money, just charge more for the game in the first place.

Great game, high quality
This game was fantastic! One of the best actual free to play point & click games on the app store, I think it even compares to paid varieties. I played it for an hour or so a few nights in a row before I finished it, so not super short! The variety of puzzles were great, not too hard but still made you think. The story was original. Cutscene graphics were good for a free mobile game (I would compare to PS2 graphics) the game scenes themselves were very detailed and it was easy to see where you could click, and it being fully voiced was a nice touch not seen too often.

This game is solid. Great graphics, nice to have snippets of video when interacting with characters, love that you have to figure out what to do next and how to use the items that you find. Wasn’t too puzzle heavy, but definitely had enough to complete. The storyline is the only thing that I’m wary of; the plot has the promise of being a good story line, but clarity of what is happening overall and the conclusion could be way better. Honestly I still don’t really understand what the story was about or why certain things were happening (unconscious mafia & green slime??). Overall worth the play for sure! Will check out the second game :)

The Best
How you guys can continue to put out these great puzzles in a war zone is beyond me but I am impressed. I have 1-3 and fixing to get #4 after this review. If possible keep them coming. 1 question? Is it better for you guys that we purchase the CE game or the regular one where we pay for clues/hints? Great to help you out in anyway we gamers can!

Great game!
Another great one...especially for a F2P game. I’ve liked most of their games. Some of their paid games are kind of expensive. So it’s really nice that they put out some F2P games to kind of balance it out. Especially when the F2P games are the same quality as the paid games. Definitely made me want to check out their paid games too. Good strategy, I guess.
My only complaint with this one is that the hint button is so close to the map button. I keep accidentally hitting the hint button. Everything else is great. Thanks.

Why can’t it be one time purchase??
The game was challenging and would have been enjoyable to play with my kids; I find the never ending paying for hints incredibly annoying and at this point unaffordable. I’m only at 65% done and I’m sure I’ve spend over $30 for tokens. I’d rather pay more at the outset, say $9.99 -and then have unlimited hints. As it is I won’t be finishing this game or purchasing any of the other NY series - and it has nothing to do with game quality, which is absolutely great. It’s 100% the cost, and having to refill hints. Tweens and this Mom aren’t the most savvy players but have a great time with a little extra help, lol!

Great FREE game with high quality graphics
Nice graphics. No ads. No waiting for energy to refill. Just a really great game. Challenging puzzles and mini games. It was hard at times to figure out what to do next. There might have been in-game purchases for clues but I never used them.
And it was free!!! Graphics weren’t quite as good as The Room games, but it was free and just as challenging. I played it in one sitting and couldn’t stop. Five stars all the way. Thank you for a great, did I mention FREE game. I’m hooked. Keep them coming.

Absolutely great puzzle adventure game. Long storyline with good graphics. Puzzles are not too easy. I was able to play entire game without and hints or skipping. Love that there are no ads and no waiting for energy. You can play start to finish without any waiting. I did have issues with one puzzle where the piece would not click into place like it should have and that was irritating. If the developer is interested I have a video of the problem. Other then that absolutely love it! Can’t wait to play more from them.
