In this minor update, we made a few improvements fixed some bugs thanks to your feedback.
IMPROVEMENTS
- When uploading a new post, you can now add a custom film developer if it’s not in the options!
- Added a search bar to the countries lists
- Added ability to change your profile picture by clicking on it from your profile
- Added ability to “unselect” a option chip, when creating a post or using page filters
- Changed icon and text on the Image picker component, in the New Post page
- Added a toast message “Post upload in progress…” while the post is being created
- Added a loading animation to “Posts you liked”

Saved film stocks are here! You can now see a list of all the film stocks you saved by clicking on the “More” menu on your profile.
MAIN IMPROVEMENTS
- The Feed loads much faster than before. You probably can’t notice it loading anymore :)
- The Feed and posts now load with a nice glossy animation
- The Notifications page has been moved to the Feed, making it more accessible
- The Comments section of a post has been moved to another page, accessible with a new button next to the Like button
- Tapping on a profile’s picture expands it, so you can see it better!
- Cameras are now grouped by type (35mm, 120, 4x5, 8x10, 9x12, APS, 110, and Instant) for better visibility and better experience creating a new post
- Your “My Gear” main camera and scanner now appear at the top of the list of options
- Horizontal view for the image Lightbox was added - you can now tilt your phone to see a horizontal photo more comfortably

Instant film is here!! Many of you had requested this – you can now filter your feed and film stock list to only see Instant films (Polaroid, Instax, etc.) – and a new array of instant films has arrived in the Film Stock index.
But wait, there’s more:
- New B&W film developing options have arrived: HC110, XTOL, Rodinal, and Adonal!
- Expired film support is here - you can now specify if the film you shot was expired, and what year it expired. This will appear in the post’s page along with the other details.
- Film stocks you’ve saved are now at the top of the film selection menu when uploading a new post
- Film stocks have been grouped into types (Color Negative, B&W, Instant, etc) in the film selection menu
- Labs in your own country now appear at the top of the selection list
- The “developing method” field is now auto-filled according to the film stock you’ve selected
Other small improvements:
- Cleaned up the selection menus of film stocks and labs by removing titles from lists with no elements in them
- The “ISO” field when added a new film stock now opens the numeric keyboard (not the alphabetical one)
- “Suggested film stocks” has been renamed to “Film stocks you suggested” and now shows Brand + name (instead of just name)
- Removed unapproved film stocks from the Brands pages
- “Country” and “name” are now mandatory fields to add a new lab. “Name” is also now mandatory to add a new camera or film stock.
- The “Brand” field when adding a new film stock is now a text field (as it was originally when the app launched - we received requests to reinstate this after we changed it to a selection field)
- The popup page for selecting a film/camera/lab now closes after pressing “Clear”
- The “Instagram” field when completing your profile now detects Instagram URLs and changes them into Insta usernames

In this update, we completely redesigned the Sign in / Sign up flow, and... you can now Sign in with Apple!

Welcome to our biggest update yet!
We've added some features and fixed a ton of bugs since the last update, all thanks to your feedback.
FEATURES
- The all-new “My Gear” section of the app lets you add the camera, lens and scanner you own – and this information will be auto-filled when you create a new post!
- Ability to clear your selection from a selection menu (if you accidentally selected a camera, for example)
DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS
- A new, beautiful welcome screen when you open the app, while the data is loading
- Go directly to a profile by clicking on their name on the feed
- “Photographers you follow” and “Photographers who follow you” are now sorted chronologically – this means you’ll see your most recent follower / following at the top of the page
- Scroll position is now maintained when scrolling through sample photos, likes, liked posts, and followers / following, which means that going back won’t take you back to the top of the page!
- The “More” menu on your profile now opens new pages, so you are no longer restrained by the popup bottom sheet
- Moved the Instagram button on profiles to the top right of the page (less distracting)
- Removed the NSFW blur for your own photos on your profile
- Added a subtle gradient to the Newgrain Picks, making the titles easier to read
- Disabled horizontal mode (it will soon be reimplemented for the Lightbox view, so you can see horizontal photos on landscape mode)
- Removed some blank space on the top of user profiles
- Trimmed the whitespace at the end of the City field in your profile, and the Title field in a post
- Reduced the opacity of icons on a post page, for better readability

- “Film stock” field is now compulsory when making a new post - we think this will help prevent photos from digital cameras being uploaded

- A much-requested “white bar” was added to post pages, so that the image isn’t covered by the notch or the buttons!
- A new way to navigate between pages: you can now slide your finger across any part of your screen to go back to the previous page. This makes going through the app an even nicer experience :)

Super Cool!
This app has already exposed me to a lot of great photos and photographers. It's a little rocky but it is the first public launch of the app. I hope that they add some features like the ability to save and organize photos that we like into collections, the ability to organize our profiles by collections, and replying to comments, would all be a great features to see down the road. I am excited to see the app grow and the community on it as well.

Great concept, still a little buggie
Finally an app that lets users search photos through film stocks and cameras. App needs a refresh button. A lot of crashing especially when trying to upload photos. Froze after accessing app through the notification. Otherwise once the bugs are fixed this app would be something I’m on all day!

Really Cool Idea
Awesome app, really nice idea. The reason for three stars is because the app is a pretty buggy. Overall the UI can be more polished and intuitive but that will probably come with time. Hopefully this app doesn’t go extinct and they add more UI & feed/exploration features later down the road. 5/5 concept tho.
However, I do wish there was a way to save presets (or batch upload) so you don’t have to fill in image information (type of film, camera, lens, scanner, notes, format, film lab, etc.) for every single image you upload, because that can get tedious fast.

Love this app! UI still needs a little bit of work…
This app is fantastic! I love having this as a resource for what different film stocks look like and just getting overall inspiration. I could browse this app for hours save for one thing: when I am browsing any gallery if I tap a photo see it and go back, it jumps back to the top of the gallery. I have to rescroll all the way through to get back. When this is fixed I would definitely give this app 5 stars!!

Love this concept and the ways we can connect more as film photographers I would love to see improvements in seeing who liked my photos, many times profiles will duplicate when displayed and not everyone is shown. I also would like to see a way to form groups with other users and also direct messaging! Keep it up this is a great idea for a platform

App is exactly what I’ve been looking for
Really great- but I have one request- and that’s to search by camera and lens. I know that a lot depends on the film stock but I still think it would be helpful - thanks for considering my feedback!
