Description

To train at your peak, you can’t just train hard. You need to train in a way that's informed by your personal biology.

This is especially true when it comes to your unique hydration needs. Yet this information has historically been nearly impossible to access.

At Nix, we built the first biosensor to analyze sweat and provide endurance athletes with personal hydration data – scientifically validated, and delivered in real time.

Once paired with the Nix Hydration Biosensor, you are on your way to understanding your personal biology with the Nix App. We’re the first hydration biosensor of its kind — the only patch, pod, and free app combination to:
- Evaluate the electrochemical biomarkers in your sweat
- Send real-time updates to your phone
- Integrate with Apple Watch, Garmin Watch, and Garmin Bike Computer
- Correlate your sweat data and your training environment with the Nix Index – a composite index of six environmental factors: temperature, humidity, dew point, altitude, wind speed, and solar load.
- Provide post workout Sweat Intelligence via insights on your Sweat Profile including fluid loss, electrolyte loss and sweat composition
- Provide a personal, unique Sweat Profile based on your fluid loss, electrolyte loss and sweat composition

Before your workout, tell the Nix app if you’re running or cycling, and what you’ll be hydrating with. You can also consult the Nix Index to see how your environment - factors like the temperature, humidity, altitude - might impact your hydration needs.

Once you start sweating, our single-use patch begins measuring and analyzing your fluid and electrolyte losses per hour - metrics that represent your unique “sweat composition.” This data is instantly streamed to our app, and can also be shared with devices like your Apple Watch, Garmin Watch, and Garmin bike computer.

The result: you know when, what, and how much to drink in real time, and can prepare for future workouts with more confidence and intention.

With this release we have added support for Garmin Data Fields.

Further improvements to saving are also included. In particular the save percentage more accurately reflects what is happening behind the scenes. Previously it was impossible to distinguish between slow progress and no progress based on BLE and data connectivity.

This release contains fixes for several issues we have seen with saving workouts. Additionally, saving is now substantially faster for workouts that are longer than two hours.

Triletter,
Quirky but improving
Have been using the Nix system for a couple of months now. When it works, it is spot on with the information. Due to previous issues, I now place the pod on the patch and start the app all the way to starting a workout to make sure everything is going to work; saves on patches. Newer software releases have addressed some problems. Customer support has been very good with reasonable turnaround times via email.

The app REALLY uses phone battery fast! They are working on it so I expect that it will improve over time. You must be in cell coverage for it to provide real-time info. It may or may not reconnect when coverage comes back. Connectivity to a Garmin device is spotty and they advertise the problem is being addressed.

For shorter rides/event ~4 hrs it’s a pretty good tool and improvements keep coming. For longer events battery and cellular coverage can render the real-time data useless. However, using your past history and the Nix values from previous data it provides you enough information to calculate your fluid and electrolyte requirements.

Needs some improvements, but much more valuable than a single sweat test whose data is based on a single environmental data set. Recommend it as a tool that should improve over time.
cp00cp,
The connectivity tech is garbage
I wanted to like this, but the development around the connectivity needs to be reworked. I started a ride with my phone battery at 90% after 1hr it was drained to 20%!! It’s useless for long rides if the phone is needed. I don’t race with my phone so having the ability to just use my Garmin would be ideal. It’s so unstable in it’s connection. Says give it 20mins for data to appear, after 45mins still nothing and you have to turn bluetooth off and back on. It’s not ready for prime time that’s for sure!

Wasted money
I’ve been trying for months to get this device to work right. It either doesn’t recognize the pod being on a patch or won’t connect at all to the phone. Or if I somehow manage to get it to work it won’t show real time data and then won’t record data for the duration of the activity. Not to mention the amount of time I have to spend futzing with it just to get it to start in the first place. Yes, I have tried all the stupid ticks. Uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app. Wiped the pod memory… blah blah. The whole experience has been hugely annoying.

No stars
This product is absolute junk…. Rode 20 mikes 1:15 minutes… said I list 6.7 ounces. Currently attempting second ride to give it a proverbial second chance…. Won’t even connect. These patches are too expensive to have even 1 failure. Furthermore on a light bike ride i lise 16-20 oz an hour…. Save yourself money and get a regular sweat test. Or weigh yourself naked immediately before and after an hour ride. You wont know electrolytes, but that can be done accurately in a lab.
Export please!,
CustomerService 0 stars
Just don’t bother with this device, the “science” is limited. Customer service is non existent. Replacement parts when the app is not working (pretty much always) are too expensive.
