I really want to support this app as a primary study method for the NCLEX as it is useful and convenient to be able to study anywhere any time, however, there are currently too many errors in spelling, grammar, programming, and content to warrant my full support.
Thus far, I have completed about half of the questions available (so around 600 of 1225). Of these questions, an estimated 1/5 of these questions have spelling or grammar errors predominately within rational portion of the questions.
I have also encountered about 5 questions throughout these 600 that are programmed incorrectly, meaning that the rational supports a certain answer or answers, however it is not programmed to accept those as the correct answer set.
There have also been another estimated 5 questions that are certainly incorrect, as well as several more that are questionable.
If these errors are corrected, and the content is expanded to include a larger question base, I would fully support this as a valid and useful study method for the NCLEX. I have enjoyed spending a few minutes here and there answering a few questions in between classes, during work breaks, and while riding in the car. It allows me to study when I have time, which during the end of nursing school, I don’t have much of.
An area for improvement that I would like to see is extended time for taking the practice NCLEX tests. Currently I believe it gives 45 minutes to answer the 75 question practice test. Given that the NCLEX is 5 hours long, I don’t see any reason for this right time limit. I also think it would be beneficial in the distant future to work on a testing program that will adjust itself to the test taker’s level similar to how the NCLEX does. Meaning that answering questions correctly will increase the difficulty level of the questions. I also do not see a significant need for the questions that require the user to arrange them into the correct order as to my knowledge, the actual NCLEX does not have questions like this.
Overall, I still find this app useful in its current condition, but improvements are necessary if the developers wish to be competitive in the NCLEX study market.
