Going to the Great New York State Fair? Don't leave home without this free app! This app shows you what's happening and where using a detailed map of the fair. Select an event from the daily schedule and the app will zoom in to show you where the event is located. You can also zoom in and out by hand for greater detail. During the fair, the schedule opens to the current time - no need to scroll through events.
This app does NOT require internet access - all data is stored on your device. If internet access is available, this app will dynamically update the schedule so that you always have the latest information. For the latest schedule information, we recommend running the app for a few minutes with internet access before you visit the fair.
** The satellite view also shows your current location at the fair (internet access and IOS 7 or later required). **

Midway Music Concert Series
Does NOT show events which run all day long or agriculture, horse or livestock schedules.
Does NOT show vendor names or locations (except for a few personal favorites) at this time. A link to the fair food finder was added at our users request.
A Map Legend is available on the map with a link to it at the bottom of the buildings/exhibit list found under the FIND button along with a couple of my favorite stops.
Tapping on building numbers displays the building name on supported devices.
Tap and double-tap provides two levels of zoom to that location on supported devices.
Offseason Events page for year-round coverage of all events at the fair grounds.
If you have trouble running the app, close some of your other apps which are running in the background using up the memory on your device.
Written by someone who grew up two miles from the fairgrounds. Over the years while attending the fair, I would check the printed guide to see what was happening and where. This app was created to easily answer the two things you need to know - what is happening now and where. I hope you enjoy the fair as much as I do.

During the fair (8/25 - 9/5), pressing the schedule button will scroll to the current time showing the events at that time. This will save a lot of scrolling as the day goes by.

This app stinks
Why did you change it. Last year it had everything I needed. Now it’s jus a map of the fair. Lived here my whole life, I think I can get around at the fair.

This app is better then I thought it would be. It lists the schedule of events, and as time goes by throughout the day, the app lists the most recent events. The map is interactive to some degree, you can tap the number listed on the building, and it contains the name of the building. Also, if you tap on an event from the schedule, it will show you on the map where it’s located.

Missing Feature
I am not able to select the events that I want to attend and be sent a reminder of when they start. Makes it difficult to pre-plan my visit to make the most of my visit. I believe this was available last year.

You people couldn’t come up with anything better than this?! This is even worse than last years. The map has to be several years - it shows nothing but a dirt mound. Where are the schedules of the individual presentations? Where is the vendor list for food? This is our NYS tax dollars at work, I guess. Why am I surprised? Pathetic.

This app is almost completely useless. You used to be able to search for specific food vendors and it would at least give you a vague description. Now you can’t even do that. Throw a few thousand towards a capable developer and help yourselves out.

Worse than before
I agree this app was terrible. The schedule kept updating while I was using it and the link to fair food never loaded. Last year the app was great. I was disappointed this year that it was not helpful at all.

Is nothing but a map. No list of vendors, minimal event schedule and no details about what events they do show.

Handy, but could use more
This is great, but could be better if there was a way to run a search for vendors, attractions, etc. There should be a way to look for things in alpha order as well as by building number.
Also, being able to tap a building, #, or area and a popup bubble shows what it is (Center of Progress Building). A "more info" option to learn what is in that location/ building would be ideal!

Good app
Some cool improvements would be tell the food vendors and where they are and maybe do a gps compass for the fair guiding you to the numbered buildings so you can find people easier Other than that this is a great fair app thank you for your hard work on a great ny state fair app
