Description

Play On Cue is a music player which cues and plays individual sounds and songs when the Play button is tapped. When each song has finished, the next song is displayed and ready to play. Play On Cue intentionally stops automatically after each song.

Play On Cue is intended for theater groups, talent shows, concerts, karaoke, musicians, DJ's, sound engineers - anyone who needs to start each song on a specific cue. Users can add additional songs, playlists or empty the cue without interrupting playback of the current song. Song title and artist are displayed in large easy to read text along with album artwork (when available).

Use iTunes to create your playlists. Select the playlists in Play On Cue and tap "Load all songs" for each set or scene. Sounds or songs will be in the order saved in the playlist. Songs can be added, removed or reordered while playing.

Play On Cue is a simple way to start sounds or songs ONE SONG AT A TIME when needed in a live performance.

** Play On Cue intentionally stops automatically after each song. **

Support for AirTurn and other BlueTooth remotes can be enabled /disabled in system settings along with support for rotating the display upside down so that the audio cable is out of the way.

Support for AirTurn is DISABLED by default - you MUST ENABLE it in system settings if you want to use it. Some remote devices should select a different mode to properly control the transport.

When the iPod music player is playing (intermission or before a show), Play On Cue continues to play and monitor the iPod's playlist. When you are ready to start your show, tap the NEXT or PREVIOUS button to stop the iPod's playback and queue your song list.

Although Play On Cue will stream songs in the cloud from iTunes Match, for best performance, and to prevent a glitch during a performance due to unforeseen network issues, we recommend only playing songs stored locally on your device.

Idaho Becky,
Used to be great
This app is EXTRA glitchy right now. There’s a serious lag in the controls and sometimes it won’t work at all and forcing a restart of your phone is the only way to get it to work, which has resulted in all the music getting deleted.
I use this app as a tool in my job and I have to get a different one, now because it’s not playing nice. Other teachers are having the same issue.
Janis GL,
It’s ok!
Simple and easy to operate. I noticed two glitches. If quickly push next song button, sometimes it start to play song by itself. Second glitch is when you try to move timeline cursor. Song starts from different time or stops after few seconds. Best part is that song will finish to play, even if you close and exit from app. You don’t need to worry about interrupted song.

A Critical Constructive Review
I almost feel like I wasted 2 bucks. Almost. This app essentially utilizes the on-the-go functionality of the iPod part of the iPhone/iPod Touch. It streamlines the way you would use an On-The-Go list; add a song, listen to it, and then add another song to the list to cue it up for listening after the first song is done. I didn't need to pay for something like this since an OTG list does the same thing; I gave it two stars for better functionality over the homegrown alternative. Developer, I would suggest finding a way to move songs up/down the cue list, and also an option to add a song to play immediately after the one that's playing ends, even if there are already other songs on cue. This app is a good start, but it has a lot more room to grow.

Did Not Keep Up With Updates
This used to be a great app! Exactly what I needed. I used Airturn. Could select playlists for drum songs I recorded to play background to my guitar. Displayed album art, which I used for tabs and lyrics. I loved it. But...
Last update was for 12.0. I just updated my iPad to 14.3, and now this app is useless! Gets stuck on one song.
outlaw1167,
A really good app
This app works great for my sound bites, the only thing that I have a problem with is the view rotation, it stays in place, other than that it great
KyCowboy,
Useless App
Load two songs, it plays two songs. Load one song, it plays one song, then plays it again, then plays it again, then … and so on forever. The built-in iPad music does that and more - for free.

Useless app.
Eweatherfan,
Needs Serious Fixing
This app used to work flawlessly - better than the rest. Now with the upgraded version it does not work at all. Developers we need you to work out a fix fast!!
BarnesRoberts,
Could not load ANY music
Therefore this app is useless. And it wouldn’t let me contact the developer to see why. I just bought an AIRTURNand just wanted to be able to turn cricket sounds on and off. Oy. No such luck.
Buckshot Robot,
Bought it as soon as I saw it
LOVE IT ! LOVE IT ! I play music for a living & have been waiting for an app like this. The style of music I do (acoustic meets electronic) requires a way to trigger sounds on cue. Until now I have used midi devices & samplers which are reilable, but also cumbersome & obvious. I love this app because it is clean & simple (looks good on stage) & reliable (so far no crashes). It's everything I was looking for BUT it would be over the top if this app included features like: [a] If the 'PLAY', 'REW', & 'FWD' buttons were bigger (like sampler pad buttons) or customizable it would be easier to see them on stage with all those lights. [b] If I could save my lists 'IN THE APP' & scroll through them to choose a playlist, it would save time between songs during a show. As it is now, I have to close the app & re-open it to switch lists. If this app could have these features, or updates could include them it would be 10 STARS all the way. I'd pay up to $4.99 for it :-) Great app - keep up the good work.
Stuart.Kenney,
People need to realize what this app is for
This is a pretty solid app for what it does. No, it is not just a playlist app for your music. No, the songs shouldn't play one after another. This app is designed to have single songs or even sound effects play on cue. I have used this for years as a sound guy in theater when you have an entire show's worth of sound cues that you need. Like another reviewer said, this is great when you want to know that the sound will play and then simply stop when it is done. If you set up your list correctly, all you do is just hit play the entire night! I haven't used this in a little while but I am noticing that sometimes the playback stutters just a little bit on the most recent playlist I put in… Maybe it is because of the file types. Anyway, this is a great app for the very simple task that it performs. Don't rate it poorly because you don't know how it is supposed to work.
