What if every food displayed a number that revealed whether it would help or hurt your specific health situation? What if it turned red to warn you, and green to encourage you? In a nutshell, that’s OneNumber™ Pro. It’s the engine that powers our app and the force behind your lifelong weight-management success.
On a 0-to-20 scale, our introductory OneNumber Health app rates each food for nutritional merit then modifies that rating to your personal goals and health issues. It considers eight attributes of the food as well as your personal weight goals and common dietary restrictions. Using its unique, patent pending technology, OneNumber Health guides the user with high cholesterol away from shrimp, steers the user with hypertension from smoked salmon, yet rates both foods excellent for the user with no dietary restrictions. The goal of the OneNumber algorithm is to help you make healthy eating choices and manage your weight — and it works whether your objective is to lose, gain or maintain. If any of its ratings seem counterintuitive, just remember that it assesses foods for what they contain, then modifies that rating with the information in your profile. OneNumber Health’s food data page also offers a “More nutrients” link that reveals micronutrients like minerals, vitamins and fatty acids in every food you search.
Upgrading to OneNumber Pro raises your health management game to a whole new level. Pro calculates your Calorie burn (or retrieves it from your tracking device) and tracks your weight change in real time. You can log or scan the foods you consume from a database of hundreds of thousands — including popular grocery and restaurant items — and even test foods in advance. Your daily aggregate OneNumber dial is displayed prominently on the Pro dashboard. Your only task is to keep your OneNumber ratings in the green — and the higher the better!
OneNumber Pro’s Body Mass dial shows your body fat loss (or gain) in tablespoons, in real time, even before it’s reflected on your body. This keeps motivation high by showing immediate numeric results that eliminate that frustrating plateau effect. Each morning you’ll see that you’ve lost a few tablespoons of fat. That’s because normal body functions consume Calories while you sleep. For those who want to lose, link to your fitness device (if you don’t have one, we estimate Calorie burn from your profile) and watch body fat melt as you exercise. Log healthy foods you consume and see fat dissolve from your body. But, fair warning: After watching that pint of ice cream add a half cup of body fat to your frame, dessert may never taste the same!
The beneficial role of fiber in weight loss and disease prevention cannot be overstated but an estimated 95% of American adults and children do not consume the recommended amounts. Hence, we’ve added a Fiber dial to the dashboard for a trifecta of glowing health.
With Pro there’s also extensive nutrient tracking by the day, week, month and year, net-Calorie burn and hydration indicators, plant vs. animal-source reporting, “Build-a-meal” and “Favorites” sections to easily log foods you routinely consume. Pro’s “Dining out” section gives you your personal OneNumber rating for an amazing hundreds of thousands of national restaurant chain menu items! Pro also gives grocery shopping dos-and-don’ts rated to your individual health needs, and much more.
