Description

"Asmodee Digital has done a great job with their virtual board game releases, and Onirim is one of their fantastic new releases!" - App Advice

"Onirim is a simple and well-crafted adaptation of a solitaire game" - Board Game Quest

"Asmodee is very good at making modern and well thought out board games for mobile. Onirim is no exception, with a rejuvenation of the solitaire card game that is simply perfect on your phone." - Pocket Gamer

Nominated for a Golden Geek in the Best Solo Board Game category, Onirim is a card game where you play as a dream walker, lost in a mysterious labyrinth. You must find the dream doors before the dream time runs out, or you will be trapped forever!

Will you wander around the dream chambers hoping that luck will reveal the doors, or will you meticulously explore each room type? Either way, you'll have to avoid the traps of the dreaded nightmares that haunt the labyrinth's corridors.

Onirim is a solitaire card game. You must beat the game by collecting all eight dream doors before you run out of cards. You can get them by playing cards of the same colour for three consecutive turns or by discarding one of your precious Key cards when you draw a Door card. In both cases, you will need to make the best use of the cards you have in your hand while paying attention to the Nightmare cards. These cards are mixed in with the others, and if you draw one, you will be faced with a painful choice.

In addition to single player play, Onirim offers players an intuitive interface, automatic deck management and statistics that measure progress and success.

Onirim includes the following elements:
- Shadi Torbey's Onirim base game in solo mode
- The original illustrations of the base game by Philippe Guerin and Élise Plessis, with animations
- A solo game mode
- A detailed interactive turn-by-turn tutorial integrated into the game
- Statistics recorded offline to allow you to see your progress
- No purchases or ads in the application
- Supported languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish

We are pleased to announce that the game Onirim has recently been updated.
This update brings several fixes and a clean user interface to make your playing experience even more enjoyable.

We would also like to inform you that the game has been acquired by inPatience, the original creator of the Onirim board game. This acquisition paves the way for exciting new features for the game, as well as continued support for our gaming community.

It is important to note that the game is no longer tied to the Asmodee platform. As a result, stats, achievements, leaderboards and DLC are no longer transferable from one platform to another. While this may cause problems for some players, we are working hard to find alternative solutions that will allow players to continue to enjoy all the features of the game.

We remind you that you can still get the "Glyphs" DLC for free by subscribing to our newsletter. This offer is still available to players, and we hope this will encourage you to continue playing our game.

Thank you for your continued support.
The inPatience team.

NewToThisGame456,
Interesting Concept
This game has a lot of dimension. Player decisions are more important here than in more traditional card games, and there are many opportunities for careful thought or instinctive action. Cards are beautifully drawn, and animation speed adjusts automatically to allow a faster pace after initial learning.

The only thing I don’t like is a certain rule that the player’s hand must always have a fixed number of cards, even at the very end when the deck has run out. In one game, the cards remaining in my hand would have won the game, but I lost automatically because the deck had run out. I have a feeling this rule exists to prevent infinite loops, but it is frustrating every time.

That said, this is a wonderful game that keeps my interest. Thinking and planning are rewarded but not required, so there is challenge without headache.
JoshuaAcosta,
Great implementation of a wonderful game
The app all but replaces the original game for me. It is perfectly implemented, and the artwork/graphics really draw you into the Oniverse. The best part about the app is that it takes care of all of the shuffling for you, which is a huge bonus. If it contained every one of the expansions present in the second edition of the physical game (plus add-on expansion packs), this would absolutely replace the physical version of the game for me. As it stands, I’m glad that this doesn’t actually have everything I could have physically, because I do enjoy bringing out the physical game from time to time, and that would increase the barrier for me. This is great for a quick 5-10 minutes when you have nothing to do, or for playing game after game, trying to unlock the dozens of in-game Game Center achievements.

Great game, wasted app
I’m glad I bought a physical copy of Onirim when I did. I originally discovered the game through this digital version, but sadly it seems it’s become nearly unplayable over time. I was miffed to lose my expansions after the app changed hands, and now I’ve revisited the app only to find it extremely glitchy: if it loads at all (if Game Center doesn’t crash it at launch), the pull-down for the settings menu renders a black screen, then a freeze before crashing to my Home Screen. Restarting the app, I can begin a new game, only for it to blackout, freeze, and crash as soon as I begin tapping to move cards. The biggest benefit to this app was the ability to hop into a quick game without needing to shuffle all the necessary cards myself. Big win for analog. Go buy the real Onirim & an automatic card shuffler; this app is barely hanging on by a thread, and the physical game has the benefit of multiple expansions bundled into one gorgeously compact box.
Ricky Tenderkiss,
BEST! GAME! EVARRRR!
THANK you, for making quarantine bearable… even enjoyable! The mechanics of your game are ingenious, and your cards’ artwork is quite evocative. I’m very much enjoying how this app has translated their design into animations and sound effects. (The continuous background music of any app is something I usually turn off pretty quickly, but the first several minutes of your app’s background music was also fun, and quite thematically appropriate!) I now intend to acquire a physical copy of your card game as well, with the seven expansions, because your artwork is too enjoyable not to have a printed copy of. Thank you for this accessible introduction to the Oniverse, and I’ll be checking out your other physical solitaire card games as well!! 😃🧩👍🏼
pbeasi,
Latest expansion has bugs but great game otherwise
I'm glad this game keeps getting expanded because I really enjoy each new mechanic. They've also addressed some issues with speed and frame rate that definitely make the app shine!

However, the latest expansion has some bugs. Sometimes the Chromatic Chaos denizen fails to trigger. Thus, you make a match of three cards you've already got all the doors for in that color expecting to use then denizen you've rallied to open a different color door, but you do not get the option and instead the deck just automatically reshuffles. Other times you get all of the other doors with Chromatic Chaos symbol.

Also the Hammer Bird doesn't always trigger correctly. Sometimes it includes too many cards and other times it includes too few cards. For example, let's say these are the cards you've last played: red red multicolor green green green. If you play the Hammer Bird, you expect it to remove all the green cards. Sometimes that works, but sometimes it takes the green cards and the multicolored card too. At that point, playing another red card doesn't trigger a door like you might think, so it's almost like the game doesn't realize it took an extra card.

Fix these and keep bringing us more expansions. 😀
dingokitty14,
Great game!
Very easy to learn (the tutorial takes you step by step), beautiful art, and requires both skill and luck to do well in the game. My only complaint is that there's no undo option. I'm not one to cheat, but I do often mess up by touching the card to the right or left of the card I want (I think my fingers are too fat/slippery) which can be really irritating when it happens often :( I'm not a competitive person, so I don't care about my statistics, so I get how an undo button can screw with that. However, I think there could be an option to turn that off for a "rankings" game? Other than that, it's a lovely game. My husband and I are ordering the tabletop version soon!
Axominster,
Finally back!
Ah, what a sigh of relief. I’m so happy to see an update to the app after 4 years. Asmodee had really done a terrible job with a lot of the apps they created and this one fell to the wayside. One of the iOS updates essentially broke it and it was barely playable on iPhone.

Happy to report that inpatience has acquired and updated the app! Finally I can play Onirim on mobile in portrait orientation. There’s still some graphical bugs that need to be worked out, but 4 stars for the playable app as well as updating. This is my 2nd most played game ever, behind drop7. I have over 700 games logged on this app, and I think I had more before Asmodee erased my record one time over the years.

I’m hoping inpatience adds more extensions (although just the first 2 alone make this game great), but more importantly, i hope they release more digital versions of the Oniverse series!

Lastly, I’m so happy they reprinted Shadi’s games! I was finally able to pick up one of them that I waited years for. I have 3 physical Oniverse games in my collection (of over 150) and I hope to add the rest eventually.

Welcome, inpatience, I’m glad you’re here!
Sire2K,
Missing tactile feedback
This is the most enjoyable and addictive game I've played in quite a while (along with Onitama); to the point that I had to buy the physical copy too, just so I could get the tactile sensation from shuffling and handling cards and to get my eyes off the screen for a bit. Since the boxed copy has all of the expansions, I'm looking forward to continue expanding this one as well.
The best part about owning the app version is being able to play a few quick games without the physical real estate and setup required by the cards; which isn't a lot; but it's something greatly appreciated while on the go.
This game is straight up 🔥🔥🔥
FiddlingD,
Fun game, better with expansions
This is a fun game, but I got bored with the base game fairly quickly. It is greatly improved by the expansions. I find that the Door to the Oniverse makes it a little too easy to win, but that's ok because it's still fun to focus on beating my own high score, which is challenging. Still, I find that the Glyphs and the Crossroads/Dead ends were the best expansions for adding fun but remaining challenging. I have not experienced the bugs that people complained about. I also saw someone say that you can't win. I struggled at first. Wise key management was what got me over that bump. I recommend this for a relaxing game that requires a bit of strategy but not a ton of focus.
Blinkygin,
Great game.
The tutorial makes this gam easy to learn. It is very challenging in terms of luck sometimes. The first several games I played after the tutorial went downhill immediately after I found my first or second door. I couldn’t get the cards I needed and kept getting spoiler cards with no ability to come back way before cards ran out. I played about 3 games like that before I got a decent deck where strategy played a bigger role than the bad luck. That may be comparable to the actual card game and doesn’t change how I feel about the game, but too many unwinnable games in a row will be frustrating.
