One of the best painterly filters Apps
Painnt has a large number of filters to transform what may be a very ordinary photo of yours into a work of art. You can play with the settings of each filter to tweak it to your liking. Or you can take it even further and create your own filter by using your own photo as a source for the colors and texture of the paint strokes to be applied to your other photos. The resolution of the output can be adjusted for creating low resolution online images or higher for poster size prints. There is also an online Painnt community forum where you can see others users images and learn which of the filters they used. I have used other painter like filter apps. Prisma was the first of these type of apps and was ranked as the App of the Year but when Painnt came out it was it was no longer the best. Both have both since seen improvements but can be a little buggy since they are dependent on remote servers and an internet connection to process your images. I wish I could use the app without the dependency of an internet connection. It processes the images pretty quickly when you are connected and you can help speed the process up by choosing a lower resolution setting to Puget an idea how the filter looks before processing image at a higher resolution including the original dpi of the image. Overall a great App!

Plenty of different filters
Having so many filters are great. However, after transferring my Painnt altered photo to canvas and many years later, I was looking to duplicate another photo with the same filters. The problem with that was trying to find the first altered pic for the filter specs.
In other words, I found the Painnt pic file, but it didn’t show what filter was used. It was difficult to duplicate by not showing my edit formats. Maybe should have some kind of edit history.
Other than that, this app is a perfect filter effects editor.

TBH best art filters in App Store
This app honestly does have the best art filters I could find in the entire App Store, to use basically any filter you have to pay a small amount but when you do you get TONS of them and even can customize the filters and change the sat, brightness, contrast, grain, color, etc. at the same time and the HD quality is amazing. I owe this app my entire 50K followers bc without it my pics would’ve been boring. But- it crashes, not a lot, but a good amount but it’s not a big deal since you can refresh and theirs no search for the filters but you can favorite them. Only complaints but I don’t think they’re going to be fixed anytime soon. Still love it preach sister preach!

Stopped Working
Three weeks later I see the Community Shared filters have been updated but the app always freezes or crashes whenever I try to use them. Impossible to reach the developers. A great app when it used to work. Giving one more week then goodbye. Not paying for something that never functions. Two weeks and the app still crashes every time I try to use ‘Community Shared’ filters. No tech support - Zero. Almost a week now. Freezes every time I use ‘Community Shared’ filters. Love this app but this morning it just stopped working. Maybe it’s got the virus. Hope it’s cured soon. I use it everyday. Now it’s day 3 and still crash crash crash and Moonlighting is draining my cash cash cash. As others have pointed out, there is ZERO customer support for their apps.

Doesn't process half the time/ paid for yearly subscription,not getting what I paid for.
I unfortunately have now seen all the other reviews with the same problem of not processing or freezing or crashing. What upsets me is that I paid for a yearly subscription and don't feel that for the cost this should be having so many problems. Also I tried to address this through App support and found no place to directly send an email about this. I saw the developers respond to someone else's review asking them to contact them? I would like that ability to get that assistance and feel that if they really wanted to give support they wouldn't make it so difficult or unable to contact them. FYI I discovered that I had purchased their video effects app and that doesn't work at ALL ANYMORE. Don't give them your money!

My Favorite…
This is my favorite graphics app. Paid subscription is worth it to me, and I only have a subscription to one other app. I love that I can create my own custom filters. You can avoid crashes by starting out with a lower resolution then choose a higher one right before you want to save it. I save in high res most of the time. Sometimes it takes a bit to render. My only problem is that I have too many favorites, I need more room to save more… Please :) :)

Disappointed
I was really excited to use this app to create beautiful pics. For whatever reason it will work on my iPad, the free version on my Mac,
however when I try to open up a pic from my photo library on my iPhone, the photo won’t load .I’ll select the filter color as directed but when I select my photo nothing will happen or it will crash. Save your money. It has beautiful filters but what’s the point if it doesn’t work on all of your iOS devices. Can you guys fix the bugs?

Fun but buggy
This is a crash-prone alternative to PRISMA. On the plus side there are tons of filters, features and settings. The down side - and it's a big one - is that the app often times simply hangs while trying to render if not flat out crashes on you. A note to the developers... Much potential here but if you're going to charge people a monthly subscription fee, I would suggest you iron out the kinks and exterminate the bugs. The render engine that you utilize is super slow.

Loved it at first, but now sluggish and crashes all the time.
When working, this is a versatile app that produces stunning effects. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with half a gig of memory but the app has become buggy and only works when I am at home. Even then, it is very slow, many filters won’t process a photo, and ot keeps crashing. Would like a fix to these problems.

When it works, it’s great
When it doesn’t it’s worthless... they won’t answer a ticket. The latest thing now is that the community shared filters at least half the time cause the app to freeze and not do anything until you force close it and keep trying other filters until it works. Frustrating. I’d get it but at this point wouldn’t pay to unlock the others that may or may not work. I use both iOS and Mac versions same symptoms...
