The Panasonic LUMIX Sync application software allows you to operate a Panasonic digital camera supporting Wi-Fi with your smartphone. With it, you can copy images into your smartphone, take pictures from your smartphone by remote control, and do more.
The following major functions are available with this application.
・LUMIX Sync allows you to copy pictures and videos from the digital camera to your smartphone.
・LUMIX Sync allows you to take pictures by remote control, checking the digital camera live view on your smartphone.
・LUMIX Sync allows you to easily register a camera (camera pairing) through guidance.
・LUMIX Sync allows you to easily make a Wi-Fi connection through Bluetooth.
・The photographic location (location information) is automatically recorded to pictures, which is handy for sorting pictures later on.
・LUMIX Sync, which supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi, allows you to copy images at a higher speed through a Wi-Fi router. (*1)
・LUMIX Sync includes "User Guide", which allows you to know more about how to use it.

Please Remove Unnecessary Pop-Ups!!!
I LOVE this app, and I LOVE my Lumix S1H, but… there’s a HUGE issue where a dialogue pop up box saying “Recording stopped because the camera is busy” when we start and stop recording. We DON’T NEED THAT! And it doesn’t go away until you touch the phone, that’s crazy! Sometimes I have to use my nose to get it to go away, as my hands are busy… ya know using a camera! How has no one at Panasonic thought this was a problem? So strange! Keep up the good work though, as this app is soo close to being AMAZING!

Wi-Fi connection issues
The connection between my iPhone 11, iPhone 13, iPad mini 4 and the camera/app (S5) is spotty at best. I’m a real estate photographer and rely on this process. I rely on it as much as I rely on the Lumix ecosystem and it may result in me leaving for a different system. I have to work fast and having this issue results in a lot of time lost on site.
Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes to establish a connection. I restart the camera first and that usually fixes it. If that doesn’t resolve it I restart the phone and that fixes it. I also find the range inconsistent. I will have direct line of sight 20 feet away and when I trigger a shot, it can take 20 seconds for that to occur. I know Wi-Fi inference is a thing but my godox flash system has 0 issues communicating with between the remote and flash units and those use wifi as well. I’ve been looking for alternative wireless trigger devices and there doesn’t appear to be any for Lumix cameras.

Simply doesn’t work
How can an app have a 4+ star rating when almost every recent review is 1 or 2 stars? The app refuses to connect to the camera. I have a 2 year old iphone. I tried the app about a year ago with the same results. Bluetooth connectivity is so easy these days. Even small companies are able to do it with no issues. How can a company like Panasonic not get it right? This illustrates that they don’t really care about their customers. Because the simplest amount of user testing would have exposed these flaws. Either they are incompetent or they did find these flaws in testing and decided to screw the customers anyway. I would hate to work for a company that cannot fix their app over a two year period.

The best of the market
I have recently tested and compared the Nikon, Sony and Leica apps to this new Lumix app, and the Leica and Lumix are the two that are reliable and most stable. Read the comments here, the users who rate it 1 Star, don’t even noticed this is ONLY for the Lumix S1 camera series... i use it to do geotagging from my iPhone without the battery draining issue I had with my Nikon (850 and Z7). I use it to transfer raw files to Lightroom mobile on my iPad Pro. Yes, the 250+ Mpix high resolutions raw files transfer like a charm to my tablet! Amazing Panasonic! Thanks

Troubleshooting
I’m downloading videos straight to my iPhone but noticed a video longer that 15 minutes freezes every time I try. The video fully downloads and says 18 minutes but on my phone when I play it, after the 15 mark it freezes??? The video when played on my camera is in full and totally fine. What’s the issue?

Panasonic should be ashamed of this app
Hello. 1950 calling. They want their app back!
Okay for a corporation as huge as Panasonic and designed for a camera range that starts at over $2500, this app is a joke.
If you have the patience of a saint and 45 minutes to waste you might be able to get the app to connect to your iOS device.
On my iPad i quickly found that the connection process only works in portrait mode although once (and if) connected you can use the rest of the app in landscape. This implies to me that a different incompetent wrote the setup program...
There is so much wrong with this app that I will just get to the point.
Please Panasonic hire a six year old to write you a new program, even a room filled with monkeys banging on keyboards could do better than this. This app is an embarrassment to your brand and for anyone counting on having a remote app this should be a deal breaker.

It works on panasonic G7
I have always wanted to use my iphone as a monitor for my g7. The other apps i have used in the past stops displaying as soon as g7 starts recording. This app solves all of that problem. Now i can monitor what my camera is recording on my phone. And i can control a lot more functions. Thank you. This app is perfect for me. I just wish there is a way to make the video full screen when monitoring.

Let me NOT share my data with you
The app forces you to share location before you can use the app. In addition, according to Panasonic, “[d]ata is (sic) also collected when the application is closed or not used.” Panasonic does not explicate any details regarding the data being collected. I fear that whatever I capture (if not the footage then the metadata whose size is minute) is simply sent to Panasonic. Hence, the app needs to be improved in that aspect. Regarding the app’s performance, it’s worth mentioning that it’s VERY sluggish and it keeps dropping the connection between my iPhone 13 pro and Lumix S5 camera.

Good but tricky
If the app connected to the phone and camera in a more proactive manner, It would be so nice. But I’m struggling every time to get the three synced. The wording is often confusing and lacks meaning of what it’s trying to say. It’s not very intuitive to the new user at all. I wish it functioned more like apple earbuds connecting to your iPhone but it’s more like setting up a home entertainment system in the 90s.

App worked great until I installed iOS13. Since my S1 has only connected by Bluetooth and can only be used as a remote with no image preview. When the app connected via WiFi it was GREAT. Better than the Canon, Nikon and Sony equivalents. Also better than the Image App Panasonic has. Once the iOS13 WiFi big is fixed I’ll happily give it 5 stars.
Would be even better if you could upload any image to the sheer overlay like you can with the lumix tether app! That would be HUGE!
