For almost a year I had battled with lack of interest, depression, hypertension, body aches and pains,RA, vertigo, kidney stones and Mini stroke. A handful of doctors treated each symptom separately but to no avail. One however did notice that my calcium was high and this led me to do my own research. I found Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa. I realized I was dealing with parathyroid disease. From the time I emailed them up until my surgery on Feb 24,2022 I had nothing but exceptional care. From administrators, Nicole and Pam to Kimberly scheduling my surgery to Dr Luke Watkins (surgeon) calling me and answering any questions And he diagnosed my primary hyperthyroidism. I used one of the recommended hotels with limo service to hospital, greeted by wonderful staff and nurses Alexandria and Mariah. NeeNee in radiology to Sharon in Anesthesia and my operating nurses It was WORLD CLASS treatment. Dr Carling surgeon performed the surgery (removed a tumor and in total two glands) and called me that night to see how I was doing. This isn’t a surgery you can trust anyone to do. They do this surgery all day long. I cannot thank them enough for this exceptional care. I feel great the lack of interest a depression gone, less body aches and I have more energy, no problems with vertigo to date. I expect a full recovery and getting my life back. 10 years of pain and deteriorating health
I sat in bed and prayed for help and googled high calcium (my latest ongoing problem.). The first thing I found was Dr Norman telling the hyperparathyroid disease symptoms and the great news of the Norman Parathyroid Center. I called my husband in and we began to set the process in motion. I flew from Dallas,TX to Tampa,Fl for my surgery. I am 5 days post-op and have less pain then I have had in years. I can eat normal again. God blessed me with Dr. Norman and his team of surgeons. My my surgeons were Dr Mitchell, Dr. Boone and Dr. Norman. They will always be in my prayers and everyone I love will learn about this disease whether they want to or not. Thank you to this incredible team, including every nurse and staff member. I had 2 tumors and 2 good glands. My thyroid had been treated with Radioactive iodine in 1991 and it was examined as well. This is not just a job for these doctors. It is a mission and they do beautiful surgery.

A must have app!
I downloaded this app so that I could have as much information at my fingertips as possible. My mom had the surgery and she doesn’t use a cell phone so I have to be her eyes and ears. This app rocks! Very informative in plain English and speaks to everything you can think of asking and things that you don’t think of. It is written on an elementary level so you don’t feel overwhelmed. This app is the best thing that could have happened besides the surgery itself. I was able to answer all of my mom’s concerns and mine. It put us at ease and we did not need to call the surgeon or office staff for anything because we knew what to do and what not to do, what to expect and how to handle any issues because the app addresses them. So glad I downloaded this app and I have not come across any other app that’s so well put together.

Made My Wife a Believer
After experiencing my first kidney stone and some routine lab work, my primary care physician told me she thought their might be a problem with my parathyroid and referred me to a local endocrinologist. Upon googling, parathyroid and coming across the Norman Center’s website, I told my wife (a nurse) that if I was to need something done that I thought we should go to Tampa. She was skeptical, but after reviewing the website, doing her own research, and reviewing the app, she was convinced that the Norman Center was the only place to go.
Now, 3 days post-op, I am convinced if I would have gone elsewhere, I would not be cured and would have had to end up going to the Norman Center after a unsuccessful surgery elsewhere!
Dr. Lopez and the whole staff were exceptional and I would gladly tell anyone with hyperparathyroidism to not look elsewhere!

I have been so sick. Look at the list of symptoms and I had 14-15 of them. But, I needed this APP to collect the blood work and Dexa scan information to put the data to work. I input all of my data that I collected from my 19 + years of doctor and lab reports. Without this APP I had nothing but a box of reports. After I looked at all of the graphs that are made from the data I input, I was able to make a data driven decision about what the next step was to a healthy life. This application also has many tools to understand this disease and the process to get better. I was able to use this application and my results to look at the years of sickness and post operation blood work results as well. This app was the best money I have ever spent. Additionally this was a life changing app for me.

I was slowly falling apart.
I knew there was something wrong with me for a couple of years, but couldn’t put my finger on it. That ended in August, 2022. My blood results showed my calcium at 10.6. My physician suspected hyperthyroidism and recommended the Norman Parathyroid Center.
I did my research and for me, it was a easy decision we’re I was going. I had my consultation with Dr. Rhodes the end of January, 2023. He then sent me a detailed report on my condition, and I read about his credentials.
Afterwards, l felt very confident I was in good hands. Had the surgery on March 2, 2023 and the whole process went very smoothly! Awesome Team
Thank you for the awesome treatment. Although we do have great care in our city, your team has brought this kind of surgery to a new & highest level. From the first phone call to day 5 after surgery, my expectations have been met and your team exceeded anything I could have imagined. Dr. Politz, was most sincere, kind and his professional warmth really me trust and put us at ease. Dr. Kelly, the anesthesiologist, listened to my previous history and made note and adjusted the medications so that I had no recovery issues at all. The entire team was unbelievable. This clinic should be a prototype of excellence in treating patients in this country and then we’d have no problems with medical treatment in the USA. The website is practical, easy to understand and hilarious!

This app is amazing. My Experience even better
I went to the Parathyroid center as a reiteration. A well known teaching hospital took out 1 tumor and left 2 other’s. I knew it for years. I suffered for many years and other things in my body including my heart was affected. They took a chance on me, and found 2 tumors. Other places don’t look for what they can’t see. I was robbed of my health for many years that I will never get back.
My advice, don’t even bother with anyone else. Do it with the best of the best the 1st time.

Unbelievable!
For years my high PTH has been out of normal range, I’ve developed A-fib and low energy, exhaustion etc. “Take more Calcium, you’re getting older, it’s you A -fib.” etc..... I was told. One day after removal of a large tumor by the greats team of parathyroid surgeons, doctors, nurses, along with receptionists, technical staff and even a highly skilled Valet Parking team. First time I ever had my car at the Front door at a hospital ! This app was great! You have created a great app. Rather explain it I give the website to enjoy. I’m recommending to everyone who wants to know “”what is PTH?” Or “what is a parathyroid?”....

This app is easy to navigate, answers all questions and is so helpful. If you are a patient or family member you should download this app. It not only serves as an incredible resource but it covers everything from where to park to before, during and after care. Information is communicated in a clear easy to read manner. I think other medical professionals should use this app as a model to inform, educate and take out any of the guess work of surgery. It is clear that a significant amount of time, research and expertise was put into the development of this app. Well done!
