liz perston,
Needs Work
The concept is there, but it feels like nothing is being implemented to improve it. Take the hand monitoring, for example. It’s great when it works— but it also vibrates any time I drink, eat, or linger at my face with my right hand. Not to mention that I need to turn it off before bed or it’ll go off all night, and each vibration seems to drain the battery faster than it would normally.

Battery is the next biggest issue. I use my Pavlok to track fitness, sleep, and wake times more than anything. This means I wear it almost constantly, and taking it off to charge can disrupt my routine. I’d have no issue with this if it lasted the 3-5 days that it advertises, but on a good day it barely lasts two. By the end of one day it’s often too low for me to use as a sleep tracker, and has a chance of dying before I wake up.

These aren’t unreasonable fixes. The hand detection could run on a timer that starts and stops at specific times of the day. The battery just needs improved, period!
alakeni,
fix the app PLEASE
I have used a Pavlok watch for years, I need it to function. not to mention i have to strap the device onto my leg because i will take the bracket off in my sleep but that’s besides the point. I’ve gone through 3 devices in about 4 years. but that’s besides the point. I have had the same issue for years. going into the app and trying to set alarm and it won’t work, at all. i will try to make a new alarm and it says “can’t save alarm to device” repeatedly. or i will switch an alarm on and it will buzz and say alarm saved and won’t turn on. i’ll refresh the app, won’t work. finally after about 5 minutes it will finally work. But I have had this same issue for years and it’s never been fixed. I just want to be able to set my alarm and go to bed. i wake up at different times each day and need to set a new alarm usually so i can’t have it repeat. for once i just want to be able to set my alarm without the app not working. it’s been so frustrating. I’ve used the second version of this app and the third and it’s been a problem in both apps. please just fix this. it’s frustrating to do before i have to go to sleep and ruins my tiredness and keeps me awake. i love this product and app but the way the app never works makes me want to look into other solutions to my heavy sleep because of how poor this app works. just let me set my alarm without the pushback please!
VCV III,
When it works…
…. it works great. Had to give it one star but the product doesn’t even deserve a single star. I mostly deaf and need something that works consistently. I have had this device for several years. It has not ever worked consistently, not from the start. I have followed every single troubleshooting recommendation but the product simply lacks consistency. It is unfortunate since no other alarm is loud enough to wake me and ones with a bed shaker work briefly at best then the “shakers” stop working. Even the firmware update doesn’t make it work nor does deleting the APP and reinstalling the APP update the firmware to the latest version. The idea is great. The reliability is crap. I do not anticipate ever purchasing another since the reliability is zero. Such a shame. For it’s price and purpose, and without user error, it should perform flawlessly. It certainly does not! Wish I could hold Pavlok to account for all the times it has failed when compared to the beauty of the rare times it actually works. In my opinion, don’t waste your money. My suggestion is to develop a product that stands alone without the need for use of a cellphone. Without fail, when the product fails, it has become unpaired. Why I cannot figure out. The product is fully charged, phone fully charged, App open, paired when I shut my eyes, a test alarm works, but, I fall asleep, wake up late to find it unpaired. Again, don’t waste your money on this product.
hereticrising,
Poor execution and sloppy UI abound
The device itself is larger than the old fitbits, doesn't power off and doesn't have more than a day or two in battery life. It is not easily integrated with a watch and it does not deliver on features or ease of use. Yes, it will zap the socks off of you. But, it misses in UX at each of its touted features. This product should be considered beta, and for the high consumer price tag of the latest Pavlok, shouldn't require a weekly bug report or ticket follow up to support for features they charge for, but fail to deliver on. For just a couple bucks more, you can get an apple watch or something with a more practical user experience that you'd expect to come with the price. If all you want is to be zapped awake when your alarm goes off, you can bet it does that.

There are cheaper and more creative ways to accomplish that, but the six month return window is nice...mostly because it allowed me to try and like the pavlok, and to wait for some indication from developers as to when things would be fixed or start working. Considering the price tag, low quality of the UI and in-app flows, or the fact that everything useful except the alarm clock zap feature requires an additional subscription fee, I would think twice before buying again. If I was catholic, I would have some training to deal with the guilt from the buyers remorse. YMMV
HJS20172011,
Please update the app
I love this device but the app needs updates.

If you are a heavy sleeper and are always late to work this device definitely works! Its worth the money for that feature alone! Trust me!

The app could use the following updates:
1) ability to sync with phones health and activity trackers
2) ability to track health info (weight, etc.) within the app. It has the ability to set goals to track these but doesn't allow you to actually enter any numbers in the app
3) set up the bad habit motion detection the same way you did the sleep tracking, goal tracking and mindfulness. Allow to calibrate multiple gestures, fix the bug that is causing me to be unable to recalibrate the hand gesture. I had to turn off this feature because it is going off even when I'm not doing the gesture and won't allow me to reset it or recalibrate it.
4) focus more on the features and less on the coaching sessions. You added in a ton of courses for sleep, mindfulness, activity ect. But only have 3 actual functions which don't even have many options within them. The sleep tracking and alarms portion is the most functional at the moment and I love it. But elaborate on the others and maybe allow people to adjust the smart sleep function to go off as frequent as they would like and rather than only tracking for 30 minutes maybe allow it to track for an hour.
m-oma8,
Deaf
I am almost totally deaf. I can only hear when using my two hearing aids. I have to take my hearing aids off at night to charge them and when I do that I have no way of hearing an alarm. I don’t wake up to vibrations well, unless of course, it’s a earthquake then I might wake up so the dinging is nothing but the shock is brilliant. I absolutely love it. I love the way that you can start soft and set it to have a interval minute intervals you want to get stronger and stronger till you’re up out of bed. I use it also during the day if I’m watching kids or something like that, even though I have my hearing aid, it lets me know when it’s time to move on. Well worth the money to me. The battery last me fine I wear sometimes even a little longer. I haven’t used it for the habit thing. I’m not quite sure how that works. I think I would need another one on the other hand to keep me from putting food in my mouth. Lol
EcstaticEsq,
It’s Beta. But support is good and responsive.
It’s a support / functionality App to make the $200 to $260 unit work. While it’s beta the company seems to be constantly upgrading and tweaking. Thus far some “no brainer” functionality (syncing calendar alarms rather than a stand alone alarm system and more phone integrations silent alarm for incoming calls / texts, etc.,) that would be expected are presently missin. Again, company seems to be constantly upgrading and tweaking.
Very, very few, if any, glitches. VERY important when the unit’s purpose is to deliver electrical stimulation “Snaps” (actually “Zaps”) to wake you up and help modify bad habits. A runaway / inconsistent “Shock Bracelet” would be unnaceptable and dangerous. Looks like most of the beta functions are being tested via a webtool then shifted over to the App when solid and reliable. Hop it helps.
Dr.kiss,
Something’s don’t need an update, this is one of them
Listen, before the update I was using the pavlok and the app persistently and consistently. I had no issues before. I kept it simple, I used it as an alarm and nothing else. Now since you guys updated the app for some reason(there’s no reason). I legitimately have problems with just turning on the alarm. I have to try to turn it on, close the app out and get back on it again to turn it on. I like the product and the old app. I get it, it’s a company and y'all are trying to grow as a company. But stick with keeping it simple. People don’t need the extra shenanigans. I do like the different options of turning off the alarm like jumping jacks or a puzzle. Everything else is not useful for the consumer. Do another update, and get rid a lot of the stuff. You don’t want to lose the consumers because y'all trying to expand. Or just make another app for what you want to expand on. Again, the update was a flop. Just go back to the simplicity of the app.
Thank you
BrileyParker,
FIX THE APP!
When the app is up and running the watch works great. I’m not into all the bells and whistles of the app itself. I just use the shock alarm feature because I sleep through everything. BUT, when the app goes down for “updates and bug fixes” it will force log every user out, which in turn causes the watches to become useless(which they only do at night while everyone is sleeping). I’ve never had a single app go down for updates at all until this one and I doubt anyone else has either. If you try to contact customer support you get run around answers or they tell you, “we don’t have any control and we don’t know the ETA of it being back up and working”. The watch costs WAY too much to be having this kind of issue. My advice is to fix the app and start doing your updates like EVERY other application on the App Store. This product is supposed to help people and give consumers something they can rely on. Shutting everything down constantly is doing the exact opposite.
Fightamin,
Nav is hard and habits are unintuitive
1. Habits. I literally just figured out while writing this how to activate a habit. I’ve tried three times to figure it out. A long press. That’s super unintuitive. That’s how you should rearrange the icons, not how to activate it one. Go look at other habit apps for inspiration please.

2. Navigation. There’s two design forms of navigating it seems and no quick way to go back to “home” with a single tap like there should be. You start out on the Pavlok home page and there’s 3 sections: Waking Up, Mindfulness, and Habits. Those are laid out in vertical bars. Then when you go into one, the navigation switches to a bottom-drawer-based nav. And worst of all, one of them has a “home” icon, so every time I want to go back to the main page to choose something other than Sleep (like Habits), I mistakenly tap that home icon on the bottom first, which does nothing. Go look at the Apple Fitness app. I think you have it backwards. Bottom nav should be on the main page, then top nav inside the pages, not the other way around.
