Description

Perceptron is a new incremental game which is based around the idea of building and training a neural network. The concepts behind a neural network have been distilled to their essence in this idle simulation.

Not to say the game is simple. Sure, it starts simple with only nodes, training, and data, but soon balloons into a complex idle game with prestige and upgrades. Not to mention offline support.

Take on the role of a young undergraduate student as you become quite the idle tycoon.

Perceptron is not just another idle clicker. It was designed around the idea of training a neural network and has taken inspiration from many neural network topics. Who knows, you might even end up learning something.

brotherblue522,
I don’t know if I already wrote a review
But I’m going to write a second just because. This app… is more than an app. It’s more than an experience. It’s experiential. It’s you-play-around-with-it-and-think-about-how-it-applies-to-your-dreams-and-goals. It’s literally an example of the foundation of how most great ideas start- from tinkering and thinking to compiling and producing. This app is a legend in my book and I’m sure in the books of a lot of other people who have a passion to be someone and do something but don’t quite know how to get started.

Please, if nothing else, just know this- about the app and your well being- the truth will set you free but first you’re going to have propagate it.
Binya88,
Really fun game - game ending bug?
I made it to the level where you get ensemble and could no longer manually gather data. I crashed app, tried ensemble, and then when it reset, I had no network or way to gather data which meant the game was essentially stuck. I used my gamecenter ID and tried to uninstall and reinstall and even with the gamecenter ID, it started me over, so I said enough with the game.
Tadmang,
I don’t like it but keep opening it
So that’s 2 stars I guess? I keep coming back to it in case the beginning is just slow. But no. Every time something new unlocks it’s just more excruciatingly slow linear progress.

The worst part about the game is how bad the prestige system feels. In most games, you prestige and then you catch up quickly and then progress. In this game, your prestige multiplier is capped by your current base power… so every time you reset you don’t get boosted back, you go through the same slog until you are forced to prestige. It just feels really bad.

It also feels like a total ripoff of exponential idle. The style is like, identical. Exponential idle at least has some fun decision points and a feeling of actual progress.
.TrashLord.,
Very slow and confusing
The game is pretty linear, the values don’t change very much and is very slow to gain any new upgrades which barely boost production. This game is people who don’t mind coming back every few hours to upgrade a few things. Also, the menu is very cramped, you can’t see much of what’s going on. Production value is on the same line of price which usually gets pretty big, and the buy 1 and buy max take up most of the space, they should be put together. I would recommend putting the price and the production value on seperate lines and maybe use scientific notation on everything just to make it less cramped.
Dran666,
New update did a bad thing
Eliminating the ability to use over clock for people who use screen reader without buying the permanent upgrade does not solv the problem of ads being inaccessible, it just forces disabled people on fixed incomes to have to buy the permenant upgrade instead of solving the problem. Not just that but it was not something that blind people weren’t able to work around in the first place, I’ll update my star rating if you revert it. Cause its now discriminatory instead. I dont know how you thought that was a solution honestly. Good game otherwise though.
Crimiculus,
Nothing to do
To start with, the game works really well and it's a really interesting concept to pursue. But there's just nothing to do. Idle games usually rely on exponential growth, but progression in this game is pretty linear. With upgrades increasing in price exponentially, gains feel much more diminishing the further you go. With how gaining rep/data/money currently works, it takes hours to days to reach any significant milestone, with almost no chance for any sort of player interaction in between. And that's with the overclocking ability.

In its current state, the game is just simply not worth it.
Shakza,
Dev is AWESOME about fixes! (Edited)
I had an issue which turned out to be a bug, put up a 1-star review and went to bed. Woke up the next morning to find the dev had pushed through a hotfix for the issue I had! Tried it, it worked! The game seems pretty good, but that commitment to their players is inspiring!
bgbayougirl5,
Great game, huge glitch
I love everything about this game. The only flaw the game has is when purchasing the “Pro version” to double all offline income & get the permanent overclock…it doesn’t work!! It keeps asking me to purchase this feature even though I already have. Regardless of how many times I try, the game isn’t recognizing the purchase. Once this glitch is fixed, I’ll give the 5 star rating Perceptron deserves!
The realTohdoh,
Balance or understanding?
I don’t know if the balance of this game is really bad or if there is some mechanic that I fundamentally don’t understand. A lot of idle game have an idle wall (where you need hours or days of income to purchase an upgrade that increases your income by 0.003%). Most of the time I find this after weeks or even months of play. This game gave me an idle wall in the first hour. I currently need to spend 50k units to buy a 0.1 unit/s income boost not sure where to go from here.
VWray86,
Enjoying so far
The game being slow is kinda nice since I can put it down and not worry about it while I do other things. Question for the dev tho… where is the other iOS game you listed in the other games section of the menu? Cmd C?
