Spaz9908*,
The best light meter app
I don’t write reviews but this one is deserving of one. Let me say that for the point and shoot crowd other apps will work just fine but if you’re a exacting professional or pro amateur photographer that wants perfection then this app is for you.

For on the spot metering this app is about as accurate as my Sekonic 858d it’s off by a little but not much. The free version is all you need in my opinion as it don’t have a function to save metering values to average them out. For the most part a very handy accurate metering app.
Duane0520,
Ads are a nightmare
When a developer offers a free version, it is usually for someone to evaluate before buying - try before you buy, so to speak. I understand that ads may be necessary to compensate the developer from those who never upgrade. But, this app has so many ads that pop up (and each ad takes MULTIPLE attempts to clear), that a fair evaluation is IMPOSSIBLE. The only way I could evaluate this app was to read the reviews. There are too many less than stellar reviews for me to be willing to spend money - including one that mentioned ads still came after the purchase upgrade that promised to remove the ads. I’m not willing to chance this app based on the reviews and the developer is not giving me a fair opportunity to evaluate.
OliFinn,
Updated Review: 5 stars
My previous review lamented numerous issues, perhaps personal ones but issues nonetheless, with the app’s UI as a paid user. After today’s (12/24) update, those issues were all done away with! Most notably, the f/stop and ISO numbers don’t jump once set anymore.
Having a handheld meter has been nice, but the convenience of this app paired with the updates makes it an immensely indispensable tool!
elisha.zep,
Where do all my “saved” pictures go?
I’d rate this 5 stars if I was able to save my photos in a log that supports a gallery, with a history of all photos that I “save” - rather bath an resetting what I “save” every time I close the app.

Am I missing something? I’m not sure what the point of a save or log function is if it’s just going to reset every time you close the app.

I’d love to have a history of all the photos I save because I can reference them when I get my film back. It’d be nice to have that log feature keep all my saved photos, so that I don’t have to export to camera roll every single time I meter.
rlonceagain,
Ads make this app nearly impossible to buy
4 separate times I have attempted to purchase and the BLASTED ADS pop up before you can even get to the App Store!!! Sure I could just go to the App Store first but I need to first see if it’s helpful and worth my time and money!
From what I can see of it before the ads pop up it may be quit useful. Some decent less obtrusive ads that didn’t render the app unusable and give maybe a reasonable time period for evaluation and I would definitely buy this one!
But since the developer seems to think he is making more money on his chosen ads I have decided that I don’t need his garbage after all!
If you download this app it must just be for his ads and not for his app.
Zero stars for his efforts in my opinion!
SlickBlue,
Very Useful
I mainly shoot digital but I have started shooting with film recently. This is a very handy app even if your camera has a built in light meter. I can just pull out my phone instead of having another accessory while I’m out taking pictures. The touch-spot metering is also a nice touch. I just recently developed my film and the exposures shot with the help of metering from this app came spot on.
starfox galaxy,
It does its job well
Great Controls make it easy for me to whip out when I'm out shooting for whatever the reason. Overall I recommend this app for anyone who shoots with traditional camera or a smartphone. The part where I can check the light on just one small part of a scene is my favorite as I don't care about lighting a whole scene perfectly.
Saltybeats,
Add camera for view
This is the app that I use the most it’s always been good. But sometimes exposure can be off. Ultimately if I bring my digital camera to use the internal light meter the pictures would come out perfect. But I’m not about to use a second camera and my iPhone just to get a good exposure. If the developers of this app which somehow incorporate the ability to see with the photo could potentially look like using a built-in camera with manual settings it would help us.
geekatplay,
Works well, accurate results
I as skeptical at first, but after run serval compressing tests with dedicated light meters and digital cameras, found that at ps works well. To make it prefect will be nice to have the light high pick memory. In that case you can use with flash. When flash fires it will show what non locked settings should be and have option to reset memory.
Ahisona_,
Fairly good
After developing my film I noticed that all the low light and indoor readings were fairly accurate, but while outside, its wildly innacurate. I found that my outdoor shots were extremely overexposed. So this app is only great for indoors and low light situations. What really bothers me are the ads which are very abundant and common. Often times you aren’t able to close them and you are forced to force close the app and restart which is annoying, but hey, the app works (most of the time)
