Txchk22,
Love this game!!
I am so addicted to this game. It is a lot of fun. One thing I think would make it better would be to have to option to turn off the upgrade choices popping up automatically. Sometimes I want to play this idly, but can not because I am constantly having to select an upgrade. Also sometimes I am happy with it and don’t want to upgrade it further, but am forced to with the constant pop ups. I would rather see that an upgrade is available and click a button to make the upgrade choices appear than them automatically popping up all the time. Especially toward the end, I can not enjoy the utter obliteration of the pixels when upgrade choices are shoved in my face literally every 5 seconds. Other than that, thanks for a great game.
Popcap77,
Another Ad Farm
TLDR: Many ads at every interaction point.
Unfortunately this game falls short of expectations to be a fun little game with good player engagement. It is an ad farm where the players are cattle like many of the F2P games on the App Store. This one has an unskippable advert available every time you get an upgrade if you want to gain a second upgrade. Even when you do not want a second upgrade it may give you an ad (70/30 chance) which is luckily skippable or a picture ad you need to close out of. However, you gain upgrades so often it becomes annoying. Past level 2 players begin having random prompts to upgrade by watching an ad, calling them “free upgrades”. Many of these games do this despite the upgrade not being free, since I need to watch a 30+ second unskippable ad to gain the upgrade. Anyways, basically they want you to not farm their advert click rate and watch rate and there is probably going to be some over-expensive pay to remove adverts IAP that eventually comes out soon. Avoid the game.
piegirl🙂,
great game!!
i love this game and i’ve only been playing it for a week or so. i wanted to share some ideas and opinions about this game to make it better. one thing is the spawn rate of the pixels makes this game a little less fun. its way too fast in the beginning of a level but too slow as it goes on. i know this can be adjusted with power ups, but it might be a better idea to just have the game auto adjust it as you go. one thing i love about this game though is it is so fun to just chill and play with minimal ads! so many games overdo the ads but i’ve found that this one does not. I love this game overall and hope my review gets seen. 😊😊

Personal Vendetta
I was enjoying this game, and of course I went into airplane mode to be able to play it at all- however, I wondered. What happens if I buy the ad-removal? Will it just cancel out the predatory random chance ads? or will I be able to actually get the “free upgrades” that force you into an unskippable ad? The answer is simple: don’t download this game, because these developers are sharks. It only removes the random chance ads, which I could just turn on airplane mode for; you don’t get the free extra upgrades that occur every midway point on the coin bar or an extra upgrade at every full bar. It continues to force you to watch ads, which is a bummer because I genuinely like the concept of this game and the potential something like this has, especially since it’s kept me busy the past 4 hours. I refuse to download any more games from this developer after this, who promised no ads with this purchase but still push it onto you.

Developer Disappointment.
I have a love/hate relationship with this company making these games. I LOVE the games that they are developing. They are fun and keep me coming back for more.

I HATE the fact that the constant barrage of ads make me want to either uninstall the game, or avoid any game under the “Rollic Games” moniker.

I understand that your company has to make money, trust me, I do, but the ads are too much. I’ve seen other companies do the same as you in the past (I don’t need to name them because that’s uncalled for) and they ultimately fell short because they just constantly threw ads left and right, and I changed my taste to NOT download anything with said companies name because of the reputation their apps gave me.

I don’t want Rollic to fall to that same fate. Your company is doing all the right things game-wise. Please rethink your games, for the consumer sake. You can limit the ads, or even just allow in app purchases. I know that it would hurt the income, but your reputation as a company would retain so much more credibility as a result. Reputation and consumer satisfaction would help so much in the long run.

I know that this review may fall under the category of hate, but it’s a recommendation from a consumer that more than likely shares the same concern as many others. Success is desired for such a good quality company.
sangretu,
paid for no ads. still full of ads
The game concept is cool, the gameplay is moderately fun although there isn’t a whole Lotta variety. Well, there is a whole lot of is advertisements. There’s a banner across the bottom that never goes away, “free“ offers of upgrades that suddenly appear in the middle of play, and interrupting advertisements that take over the entire screen without warning. Oh, and there’s also the persistent offering of additional upgrades whenever you make an upgrade you’ve earned. Overall, it completely distracts from the game itself, and makes it a chore to play.

so I paid the $2.99 for the version without advertisements, which popped up conveniently in the middle of the screen. Once I finished the first level. As far as I can tell, the only thing that changed is the ads that randomly take over the entire screen. All the other advertising remains in the game and I am quite frankly infuriated.
SpacingGames,
Fun… but why the ads?
I’m not here to say remove ads altogether. I understand why we need them. Selecting to watch an ad in exchange for a reward? Most mobile games do this, not a problem. Then you get the option to not claim a reward, presumably in exchange for not watching an ad. However this game makes you watch an ad in exchange for nothing if you choose not to watch an ad for a reward. Why watch an ad and get a reward when you can not watch an ad for a reward and just watch an ad. I chose not to watch an ad for a reward, so why am I shown an ad anyway? If I wanted to watch an ad, I would’ve done so to get the reward.

Broke after paying for ads free
I got this because it seemed fun—I really liked the idea of it, and decided that I’d treat myself by buying ads free after doing a couple levels. As soon as I bought the ads free, it played an ad upon selecting a power up. So I closed out of the app (maybe it didn’t register?) It now won’t load past the purple “rollic “ and “Dalek games” screen. I force closed out again, still no success. Repeat that a couple times. I’m talking five minutes spent on this loading screen. I deleted the app and redownloaded it: still no dice. I selected the app support button: web page never loaded. So. I guess 1 star review until I get a refund or the game works so I can actually play it. EDIT: well it started up after leaving the review, but I can’t restore my app purchases so there’s ads again.
Nike914,
Fun, with some minor pointers.
I think the most annoying thing out of, an otherwise, pretty fun game is that I wish the power ups would appear somewhere on the sides or even the bottom since there is empty space.
I just don’t like that it pauses the game unless you select it. I’d rather have the game just keep going and breaking down the pixels and the user be able to choose the power ups as it continues.
The ads aren’t really all the bad and the game is fun enough that I’d actually consider just getting the ad-free version just as a way to support the dev.
It’d be kind of cool if there was a more challenging mode like… maybe have it timed or something. Cause even though this game is meant to be chill, it would be nice to add something a little more when you’re not looking for something chill.

Anyways, it’s definitely a good game and I do enjoy it. Hope to see it continue to improve.
SouthernVikng,
I hate the new ads.
I had downloaded and played this game before this most recent change. I really enjoyed what the game used to be, even if it had grown a little stale. However, this new change has made me uninstall the game. I don’t mind watching an ad to get extra stuff, but I hate these predatory ads that don’t end when they should end. They kind of ads where basically you have to close it out twice, and even then it still takes you to the store to download it. What’s worse, are the mid-level ads you have no choice but to watch. If you’re going to have this many ads, at least give us an option to pay to not watch them. This was a horrible decision on y’all’s part. smh
