AngelB36,
Best Piano Lessons
So post pandemic brain fog is what inspired me to jump into piano lessons. Life went back to normal but my brain didn't! I wanted to resharpen my mind bc I was losing my train of thought mid sentence too often and having a hard time just paying attention to the subject at hand after all the passive short video entertainment I engaged in. In short, it's working, and I'm excited about that! Im reactivating my brain! Learning piano, reading music, timing notes takes focus. And it's rewarding! The piano lessons are well organized, broken down in bite sizes, and the instructors do an amazing job at teaching. And now the piano is a relaxing part of my evening when I practice the songs I've learned balanced with the next lesson. This is the first time I'm learning to read music and the note timing which opens up a whole world of music. Each instructor brings a little different awareness and reminders so it's a well rounded experience. The song bank is superb with easy to difficult pieces so we all get a chance to play great music at our given level. Also connecting my keyboard to my iPad to track the notes through the app when learning is a game changer and makes me so appreciative of where tech has taken us. So glad I chose this program.
Saraleez,
Love it
This app is great for all ages. We got a family plan and this has been great for my preteen and us adults alike. Besides being much more cost effective than private lessons, I find it to be much better. With traditional lessons and practice, I find the practice often times means practicing mistakes, etc but with play sessions you get immediate feedback on whether you are hitting the right notes or beat…so you aren’t picking up bad habits and your practice is effective. I love the song diversity as well and that most of the songs are recognizable to me, whether they are a classic, from the 80s or something current. I highly recommend this.
SuperWinger,
Practically perfect!
Love it !-Sort of. Well mostly I do because I learned so much great songs! Just a few Q’s. Where is that LEGENDARY piano player you’re going all talk talk about? I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for him. Why? Well, I’m a mere eleven year old girl and was looking for a piano teaching app. That was only after my Mum was upset with JoyTunes. So our Yamaha was advertising A LOT about your app so we got it. It wasn’t BAD or anything. But I searched your app WIDE ALL OVER for that music legend of yours but I couldn’t find it. Help!! Also I want to be as good as him. So HELP!!!(Again.) Also please make it easier to access the songs. Now, other than that, it’s a good app, and I recommend that people try it. (Tip; control the volume with the thing that controls the sound on your piano.) Happy playing! SuperWinger
Runedream,
Love it, but…
I absolutely love this app - I tell everyone about it and highly recommend it. But, I just did the update and I’m not loving it. Yes, it looks a little nicer, but I can no longer see the last time I did a lesson, which was important because I hadn’t played in a while and was reviewing. Also, I’m noticing a little bit of a delay which I never heard in the older version. That being said, this is a wonderful, fun way to learn. I bought it to learn some basics, but apparently,I’m going to learn how to read music, too! 😂

Riddled with bugs
If you can get the app to work for 3 consecutive days it would be a great tool. We’ve never made it past 2 days without login, keyboard recognition or today a new fun one “you’ve exceeded your 4 device limit”. We’ve only ever had it on one single iPad. With all the keyboard issues I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled a bunch but always on the same old iPad. Now it is saying my password I’ve always had and saved to auto fill is wrong. So I can’t even login in to fill out a tech support form. Reset a new password and it’s saying too many failed attempts. Why all this security to practice piano, if someone hacks my account who cares? Let them learn piano or maybe figure out how to get the app to work.

Connecting IPad to keyboard without midi cable
I liked the app at first until I realized that it had to be connected to my keyboard with a MIDI cable which we don’t have and I think a lot of people would agree. The app is great and stuff but you can’t just let it listen to the notes you play like most of the other piano apps I’ve used so we never had a midi cable and my parents don’t want to buy one because it costs money. I’ve also realized that you can’t get the full experience without connecting it to the thing your playing it on. It would be really helpful to add the option of it listening to the sound the piano makes even if it’s added half a year later.

I am 75 and this app works wonders for me
Playground was recommended to me by my daughter who learned to play with Playground. I was amazed at how quickly she learned and how much she enjoyed learning. I never thought i would be able to learn as well at my age, but to my amazement, in just 2 months I am playing way better than i ever thought possible. Playground makes it so easy. And now i am recommending the app myself. It’s really great, i am very happy. Good luck
tjshaff,
Great Way to learn piano!
I learned piano as a kid starting at 8 yrs old through HS. After that, I got busy with life and playing piano was squeezed out for 35 yrs. Two yrs ago I bought a electric piano, a iPad and joined Playground Sessions for piano lessons. I had no idea if I could still read music. A few lessons later … I’m impressing myself with my progress. Playing with a backing track w violins and orchestra is absolutely the best fun. 🥳

Arrangements aren’t accurate
I understand the beginner and intermediate levels aren’t how the artist intended the song to be played due to difficulty level, but why not make the advanced version accurate with the original song? Not a fan of the melody and other fillers added in when the original song has a piano not playing those notes. Would also like a practice mode option where the time stops until the correct chords/notes are played before it continues. Otherwise great app!

Great app but serious flaws
Generally very pleased with the pace of the lessons. I’m working right from the beginning of boot camp and have started to see some issues. At around lesson 60 the video segments are already very repetitive, covering ground that was previously discussed. Also, the MIDI connection has become very poor, the app is only recognizing a fraction of what I’m playing, requiring me to repeat many parts. I have to restart the app, disconnect and reconnect MIDI and restart my piano, sometimes multiple times.
