I am really happy and impressed
After two days I signed up for the Premium membership and I discovered a ton of additional great tools. No, I am not a salesman. I have tried to learn the piano on and off for about 40 years. This app caught my attention right away. I have a MIDI piano and this app gives me choices like assessments and their SARS ( or something like that, I just click on it 😁). I can challenge myself, learn whenever I have a minute and get judged by a computer who does a pretty accurate job ( first time I accept criticism and I am a ship captain). Finally someone took advantage of the technical possibilities of the internet to teach others! That in itself is worth a 5 stars rating. You just drudge along with the curriculum, pick some additional stuff out of the library and learning piano turns finally into FUN! To take full advantage of this app you should be an independent person who doesn’t need 100% guidance or others to tell you what to do. If you can make your own choices you will love this app!

Great App
I truly love this app. It’s the closest you can get to having a real teacher. There’s a big catalog of classical pieces to choose from as well as a decent collection of pop songs. It seems this company is family oriented because no real selection of more risqué songs to choose from. So if you want to learn “Hurt” or “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” try Flowkey. But bottom line is they have real sheets to choose from and you get feedback on note accuracy and tempo, plus you can upload pieces they don’t have to work on if you know how to work with MIDI and the like. My only complaint is they have long had a bug where they can only show you 8va marks to indicate to go up an octave, but no 15ma to indicate two octaves, so you won’t know what you’re supposed to play until you’ve reviewed the piece. Otherwise, kudos to PM for an awesome app. It outdistances the competition immensely.

Best Piano Method Ever!
It is worth every penny and more! You can go a long way on your own with Piano Marvel. If you decide to invest in a teacher, you will find that many of them supplement their lessons with Piano Marvel (uploading their own material) so you can continue to practice outside of class and get instant feedback on what you got right and wrong. Aside from the lessons, there is a ton of sheet music available in the Piano Marvel library that is available to everyone. The only drawback is that I like it too much and don’t look at my own collection of printed sheet music much anymore. Finally, Piano Marvel runs periodic challenges to motivate us to compete against each other for prizes. It is great fun and a fantastic tool for learning to play the piano!

Great App, One Grievance
I’ve been getting back into playing Piano after not having played since 2009. This app has been fantastic so far, I’m 4 weeks deep and so have now paid for a year’s subscription.
The Technique section has been excellent, however it would be nice if the earlier stuff had Note Names in addition to finger positions so that you can help build more associations and aid memory retention.
The Method section is also great, at first I thought it was a wee bit boring and repetitive and it still is a little bit, I’m at 2-C right now so starting to play more left and right hand consecutively which is great.
My one big grievance with this app is that you can set yourself a Minutes per Month goal for practice, but in my experience, these minutes only track in the Technique and Method sections - it does NOT track performance and practice of pieces in the Library which is crushingly disappointing when you spend 40 minutes running through the Scale Ninja book only for none of it to count towards your monthly practice minutes. I truly hope that this is a small oversight and can be rectified - app would be 5/5 with this issue rectified.
Also; I’m not seeing any clear way to convert a ‘Sign in with Apple’ account to a regular email login? It gets kind of annoying being kicked out every day, so wanted to convert.

It's Great - WHEN IT ACTUALLY WORKS
I have been a user of piano marvel for a long time now. When I first used it, it was great and I continued to use it for several months. However, when I came back to use the program a year later, it had so many issues that it was downright unusable. In the browser, I opened it up and started playing only to find that the blue bar that tracks where you are in a song was gone, and the setting to change it had also turned invisible. After several reboots and updates, the problem was not fixed.
After these issues I tried to use the app version instead of the browser version. However, this problem was much worse. As soon as you hit play, the pinwheel icon immediately starts spinning and never actually stops so that you can start the song. I looked this up, and apparently this is a very common bug that happens to many people with no fix.
I'd like to give this program a better review, but it needs to be usable first.

Piano marvel is such a good piano learning app
The piano marvel lets you learn at your own pace and there is tests that you can do when ever you want that will tell you your level of skill and there is a way to learn songs now because piano marvel makes it so easy to start learning the piano and you can go at what ever pace you want I know that there are not much songs in the piano library but for the most time that is not what I use it for. I think that anyone reading this that wants to learn piano should give it a try!!! Have a nice day.

Some really neat features and songs, but...
This app has a lot of great things going for it. A wide variety of songs you can’t find elsewhere (like Disney and hymns!), lessons are great, the sight reading tool is fantastic, and the prepare mode is a necessity! You can also input your own songs, and print the music. However, it will it work well without a midi connection, like with a typical piano, or in my case, when my digital keyboard decides to no longer put out a midi signal. Also, it’s a little less game-like than some other apps like Yousician, which means my kids don’t like it as much, even if the songs are better. I don’t mind that issue though. If it were able to use the microphone and was a little more kid-friendly, I’d give it 5 stars for sure.

No upload button on app
There is no upload button on the app, but there is one on the website. However, the website does NOT have a way to log in with Apple credentials. So if someone paid in the app like I did, you cannot log in to the website. Creating an account with same email, creates a separate account, so that does not work. The ability to upload your music is important if you are working on music assigned by your piano teacher.
Update: Well, I did a test on the website; uploading your own music throws errors every time when you try to open it from the library. It looks like this particular feature is not ready for prime time at all.

This is the easiest way to learn piano!
I have struggled to learn to play the piano over the years, but Piano Marvel has made all the difference. The fun accompaniments make it easy to learn rhythm and the feedback about note accuracy is very helpful. I really like the boot camps and feel that I am learning to sight read much faster! The recent updates to this app have fixed the bugs and I like the new dashboard. Prepare mode is an invaluable tool that helps relieve the stress of being accessed until I feel ready. I think Piano Marvel is the easiest way to learn piano!

Great app!
I have wanted to learn to play piano for a while and this app has really been great. I really like the way it focuses on different things and the slow escalation putting skills together. I only wish that there was a little more guidance at the beginning on what to do to get stared and I really wish that some of the backing tracks weren’t SO ANNOYING. Wow some of them are bad and when you need to play a song multiple times to master it, it can really grate on your ears. Overall though, I would highly recommend this app for someone just staring out. It has really helped me a lot.
