How is Pocketbooth Party different from the Pocketbooth app?
Pocketbooth was designed to replicate the experience of sitting in a photobooth from the 1950s, and as such, most of the design decisions were guided and constrained by an effort to maintain the authenticity of old-school booths. With Pocketbooth Party we removed all those constraints and made design decisions based on what made the most sense in the context of a party or event. For example, photostrips created with Pocketbooth are oblong rectangles sized according to the historic size of strips. Turns out, those elongated strips are difficult to print due to their irregular shape. With Pocketbooth Party we wanted the photos to be printer-ready and as a result, they favor 4x6. We also know that at events, many guests sit for photos together and sometimes it is desirable to print photos 2-up, so a few of the formats are "double-strip" which results in two duplicate strips being printed.
Another important distinction between Pocketbooth and Pocketbooth Party is Pocketbooth Party's ability to hide all the controls when the iPad screen is locked (via Guided Access). The main fix in this release is related to auto-printing.
There was a bug introduced in iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 that broke auto-printing. Your photos would still print, but from the 2nd print onward, the photos would print smaller than anticipated. This is still a bug in the operating system, but we have sorted out a workaround that is included in this release.
In other news, we spent some time fixing bugs you probably never encounter, and we also updated all included libraries to their most recent version.
And on the backend, we fixed a bug that was preventing photos to be uploaded to our online gallery. This was a fix we were able to make available from the server, so it rolled out 2 weeks ago.
NOTE: we wanted all existing users to get these updates and fixes so we did not raise the minimum OS version. But our next release will raise the minimum to iOS 14 and iPadOS 14. (currently, the minimum OS version is iOS 9)

There has always been, and continues to be, a way to view and share the Online Gallery by tapping the Share icon at the top-right of the Gallery screen, but many people have trouble finding it, so we've added additional access to it in Settings. This release includes some code that will migrate your existing photos to a better, faster location on your iPad. With this migration, you should see smoother scrolling in the gallery and you'll now be able to access Pocketbooth Party photos from iTunes.
We've also increased the minimum operating system to iOS 8 which auto-printing relies on and spiffed up printing a bit.

Another quick bug fix. Due to an underlying issue with iOS's mail composer when images are attached, we had to change a few things to fix a bug that was preventing photos from being emailed. Thanks to the few of you who reported this defect. OK, back to boothing.

We also addressed an issue where the app would occasionally hang on the launch screen then crash. Those updates still take place in certain situations, but now they happen on the main screen of the app which means no more crashing. Good app but not worth the amount.
I own a photo booth company, but for family parties I don't want to bring out everything so I bought this app. The basic Pocketbooth app was a lot of fun to use...I used it for 3 family parties before deciding to invest in the pocketbooth party app. As I started to use the pocketbooth party app, I realized that what you get for the cost was off.
Things I like:
- You have a couple more template options.
- You can add text.
- They have some pretty good font options.
- You can change the screen where you take pics.
Things I wish it had that would make it worth $40:
- Photo booth templates people would actually like...one big pic on top of 2 smaller pics with a section to put text.
- Ability to have multiple lines of text...not just one line.
- Ability to put shadow on the font.
- for advanced users, being able to put a custom background (outside of the stock options the app has) for the picture strip. Or even a green screen removal feature. This one would probably cost more money, but I would buy it.
All in all, pocketbooth party is a good app....I use it! But if you are looking for a basic photo booth solution, stick with the basic pocketbooth app for a couple dollars. If you want more features you can play with to have some creativity, shop around for a bit. Hope this helps!

Great. Wish I can add external camera
I have this app an it’s great for small gatherings but wish I can use my dslr or even my simple point an shoot camera instead of the iPad’s built in camera. If that option is available please let me know! If not, something to consider to make it perfect.

This is a awesome app! I set my IPad up as a Selfie Photo Booth for my customers event and her guest loved it! It allowed the guest to take some great pictures and have a great time! I share the pictures on social media and everyone was amazed on how good the pictures came out! This app gives you so many options for parties and events! This app just enhance my ability to be a great DJ Entertainer!

Not worth the price
It is an ok app. I’m just not impressed on how it’s not very customizable. I would like it if I could add more than just a background color and one line of words to the final photo. I’ve used other apps where they are completely customizable when I can add a school logo to the photo strip or random images to make it fit for the occasion. Don’t think it’s worth the money I paid to get something so basic. I would like my money back.

I have used this app for so many parties, weddings, events and realestate open houses.
Using this app with an iPad pro with the good front facing camera makes a world of difference!

My only ask would be to insert a picture or logo on the bottom in the app, but even that can easly be taken care of after.

Great for a Party
We’ve used this App for a couple of Birthday Party’s and it was a lot of fun. Everyone loved taking a group of pictures and getting to pose differently.
Would love it if there could be a larger variety of booth skins. What about skins with a Holiday theme. We’re having a Halloween Party, but there isn’t really a skin that has a Halloween Theme. Would be a great addition to this App.

Printing issues
I can not get my pictures to fit properly. I've changed the picture size a couple times on the settings but my prints are still printing way to large on my 4x6 paper. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I highly doubt it

I would like to see more layouts. A big square with 3 little ones would be super cool. Also having the option for multiple lines of text.

Great App
So far very easy to use! Will the app still work with iso12.0, I’m afraid to update before Saturday when I set up my photo booth for Halloween at the campground.
