Podverse Hack 4.13.5 + Redeem Codes

When I started down the Podcast 2.0 path with Curry I selected an app at random. I’ve tried very few of them since this one covers my needs. The clipping is a huge feature I didn’t know I needed in my life. Being able to send a link to people with ease is why I give you 5 stars. There are a few oddities that may be my device. Such as playing after a pause usually requires a second press of the play button but w/e the app just works otherwise. Keep it up!

Podcasting 2.0 is way better and this app utilizes the most features for an iOS app that I have found. It does have some issues updating images for chapters. If you are listening to an episode freshly released and the images for the chapters get uploaded while you listen to the episode, the app needs to be killed and reopened to get the new image chapters. Commonly an issue if listening to episodes not too long after they are released. I would also like the images to fill up much more of my screen because I listen to a show with great artwork for the shows.

Also wish searching for a podcast would allow you to see comments and descriptions for each show so you know what a podcast is all about. I’m nitpicking though. It’s a pretty great app. I especially like dark mode.

I am very excited with the possibilities and potential of podcasting 2.0. While this app offers some exciting New features such as chapters, displaying album art, lightning payments etc. it is missing the most core functionality for a podcasting app and in my opinion is inexcusable. First even though I have downloaded Podcasts it still needs to connect to the Internet for some unknown reason to access my content making ti useless when off grid. Second, I’ve been using this app for at least six months and they still haven’t fixed The issue where it doesn’t save your place in a podcast and you have to scroll through to find where you were. Both of these are dealbreaker‘s for me from a usability standpoint. If you don’t fix these issues I’ll likely just be going back to the default Apple podcasting app.

Overall I really like this app, but there are a few issues that make it harder to use

- The biggest issue by far is that some episodes are not available on PodVerse as soon as they are available on other apps. This issue is most noticeable for news shows I like to listen to in the morning, like “The Intelligence” by the Economist. Sometimes the episodes are not available until past noon on PodVerse even though they are available first thing in the morning on other apps. Not sure what causes this issue

- I have had some minor issues using the app with Sony wireless headphones. The app is sometimes slow to react to button presses on my headphones, and there were a couple of instances where the episode continued to play even after I disconnected my headphones. These issues occurred pretty rarely though, so they did not really affect my experience.

Would love to hear from developers about the episode issue. Otherwise, great app!

This app has tons of features and you can tell that the developers care a lot about the user's experience.

Also an old review by someone says the app doesn't save your place where you left off on an episode if you close the app, as of writing this review, the app saves where I left off after closing the app completely and opening it again.

If you add chapters. This will be perfect. That allows people to post a pic/link etc in certain locations when the podcast talks about something. Very handy. I love the clips feature great for sharing on social media snippets of content.

I’ll definitely put down $10 a year easily if you get chapters in though.

Great job so far though. Been an overcast fan for a very long time, but have been looking for something podcast 2.0 compliant. Yours seems to be the best one so far on iOS.

Update: they now have chapters. So shows like the no agenda show, people can add chapters allowing art or what they are talking about to pop up on the screen. Thanks so much. Now I just got to get used to the layout and how everything works. Updated to 5 stars.

I've downloaded podcasts and after the progress bar fills I just get a loading circle and I can't play my download. Ive also downloaded some and had it finish, just to have it erase itself before I listen. Also deleting a download causes an error that sends me back to the home screen.
Edit 5/31: This problem reintroduces itself with every app update, fixes after about a week, then happens again. I don't want to switch apps again. This is very annoying.

So far this is my favorite Podcasting 2.0 app. There is a few quirks, such as sometimes the progress bar on my iPhone screen doesn’t update until I pause an episode, but this is hardly an issue. The app continuously gets better and incorporates all of the Podcasting 2.0 features, which I love. Keep up the good work Podverse team!

I love the chapters! Thank you so much. I heard about you from new podcast apps via the No Agenda show. I think it’s really important to have alternatives to Apple. Great job! Yours is even better with the chapters feature. Very cool. I would appreciate a “played” note by episodes I have already played all the way through.

Am I missing something? I can’t subscribe to a podcast without being a premium Podverse member? That is bizarre and perhaps the quickest way to get your podcasting app uninstalled. What is Podverse’s value proposition when there are several podcasting apps that offer every feature Podverse offers without a subscription? Subscribing to podcasts is a core feature of podcasting. Deciding to put this feature behind a paywall is a critical error for an otherwise good app.
