Description

Own Your Seasonal Allergies with the Pollen Wise App. Using a robust network of sensors around the country, Pollen Wise Provides up-to-date pollen counts to help users mitigate allergens and avoid seasonal allergy symptoms. Now with an Act on Solutions tab designed to help you manage your allergy symptoms through educational articles that will help you raise your allergy IQ.

If you have asthma, hay fever or seasonal allergies, knowing what is in TODAY's air is more valuable than knowing what was in YESTERDAY's air. Unlike your current pollen report or app, Pollen Wise connects you with timely information from new pollen sensors. They create reports every few minutes for an hourly average. For the first time, this kind of information helps you make decisions about your exposure to pollen.

Ever-changing levels of pollen can make it difficult to know when you should go outside or when it's better to stay inside. For example, levels can spike on one day at 11 am, drop at 2 pm, then begin climbing again until 8 pm. On the following day those levels could be reversed, but you'd never know without the kind of details that Pollen Wise can provide you because your source for pollen information is based on predictions and yesterday's counts.

If you have better information, it only makes sense to use it. Pollen Wise: What's in your air, when and where...

Hourly Updates
Update to my update:
My local sensor is back!! Woohoo!

Current 4PM readings (%):

• Sensor 1 mile away = 23 Tree, 21 Grass, 11 Mold
• Sensor 20 miles north = 64 Tree, 21 Grass, 11 Mold
• Sensor 20 miles south = 65 Tree, 21 Grass, 44 Mold

It really does make a difference in an area like mine that has microclimates (lots of variation in elevation and coastal/inland changes).

Update:
When I originally started using the app, I was 1 mile away from a sensor. For whatever reason, that sensor stopped yesterday and now I’m 20 miles away.

Living in an area of microclimates makes this app less useful now where I live. Data from 20 miles away can’t help me, no matter how well it’s presented.

Original:
I researched this and couldn’t find another app this granular—every HOUR I can see the tree, grass, mold, and weed pollen/spores.

I can finally predict allergy symptoms AND explain to others by showing them actual supporting data! Thank you!

Now in the latest update, it shows a percentage (I assume that is the same type of percentage as they mention in the in-app notes). This app was beyond compare before, but now it just blows the others away!

The only other app that compares in functionality doesn’t have or use enough sensors. But PollenWise has a sensor 1 mile from my house! Perfect!
Estela715,
The DEFINITIVE app for allergies
This app is so detailed it even tells me when Aspergillus mold specifically is high so I can be careful. Absolutely no other app or website is this detailed. Every since I got diagnosed with asthma this app has become part of my daily routine. I’m not one to write reviews often, but I just exchanged emails with one of the developers and the customer service is so great, I was compelled to write one. Get this app now, you will love it!
Bradgg2,
Nice looking app but no idea how local the info actually is.
1st, nice looking app -clean, moderately intuitive, easy to narrow in on my specific allergens.
2nd, I like the idea of having actual local pollen counters for real-time data. I’m in MA, nothing near me, per your list of sensored areas. $8200 is kinda steep for me to think about getting one of those devices own my own, to have a sensor in my region.
3rd, If the cost of putting a device in the area for no cost to end users, and people won’t shell out that kind of money, maybe a subscription model with enough users to pay for a sensor nearby could be an answer. I’d be willing to subscribe to something if it were truly local to me.
4th, if not enough subscribers, I’d thing local communities (cities/towns/etc) might be approachable, getting one as a service to its citizens.
5th, your site mentions leasing a station, but there’s apparently no information to support that statement.

Thanks for listening
Brad
jewelkid,
This app is useless!
My third review after struggling with this app’s slowness, error messages, hanging, etc. for several months. I thought that by subscribing it would be better but it just got even slower and dumber. The newest bug: After a month or two of subscribing and tracking my history, I could not figure out why the historical graphs of pollen varies drastically from day to day. Then today I realized my nearest station randomly jumped from a few miles away to 40 miles away to...449 miles away. Which obviously is useless. But this means that all my data is lost or not tracked or not available to me. So what is the point of subscribing to see history and tracking symptoms? This is so silly! Has anyone even thought about how this is supposed to work?!
straea,
If no nearby sensor, this is useless
This app looked like the best app for seasonal allergies, but when I downloaded it, I discovered that the nearest pollen monitoring sensor was described in the app as “Very Far.” All it listed was a farm’s name, not even a state, so the only way I have a sense of just how far away the sensor was is that one of the listed trees in the ‘current pollen’ section does not grow in my region of the US. I could see by the interface that it would indeed have been a useful app, but without accurate pollen info it’s completely useless. I uninstalled it and installed an app that has much less in the way of useful features, but which actually has my local pollen information for the major US city I live in.
ninetynine90,
Great detailed info!
Love this app because of the real time data. I track symptoms every day in the journal and love that I can see the history of how it tracks against allergen levels. I haven’t found another app that has this level of detail and history. Luckily there is a sensor fairly close to me, so I know I’m getting pretty accurate data.
ADN325,
Used to be great
I’m actually a little sad to delete this app. It was amazing when it was first launched. But there hasn’t been a pollen sensor in my state for I can’t remember how long. A year? More than that? That’s especially frustrating, since this company is based in Utah, and I live in Utah. They can’t seem to get/maintain a sensor in the state they’re based in. Maybe the company is going under. I guess Allergy Plus will have to do. I don’t know how often they update their data. But even once a day is vastly better than getting up-to-the-minute information about Nevada.
sperrid,
Best app for my daily health!
Thanks to PollenWise I have figure out and overcome my allergies, now I know what to look for and what to expect day to day. Instead of taking an allergy pill daily I can watch for when to do it, saving me money and helping me plan. The app allows me to track how I feel daily so I can gather the info for my personal allergies. It’s GENIUS! Highly recommend everyone get this and keep track for yourself!
Proshopper,
Fantastic App
This app is great. Tons of information, easy to navigate and beautifully done. You get valuable information without annoying ads popping up. The only issue I have is that the day of the week is not correct on the live forecast stream. It was giving the forecast from 4 days ago. Thank you to the developers for such a nice and useful app.
IsamuSushi,
Best allergy tracker IMO
This is by far the best one that I have found so far! It doesn’t just tell you on pollen is high it tells you what type it is (mold, grass, tree, etc.) also what kind of plant it’s coming from in your area. Also has pollen forecast throughout the day with hourly updates. Just give it a try you’ll see what I mean!
