Kara-GRNA,
Life-Saver
I’m so grateful for this app, it’s a watchdog over certain corrupt activities and it aids our family on day to day medical treatment for my children. My daughter struggles to breathe from a compromised bronchial tract from the effects of the Keystone Sanitary Landfill (KSL) and leachate running through our combined Sewer System in Scranton, PA. As the head of the neighborhood group, we have sued both the landfill, City & Mayor over the issuance of an “Amended Permit” allowing the flow of leachate despite a 2002 Court Order directing that KSL utilize a dedicated line to the stop of this criminal activity. PA DEP stands by in fear of Louis DeNaples while our residents and my child suffer.
Additionally, her twin sister suffers from severe seasonal allergies and this app provides 100% accurate data that aids me on which meds to give her. We all have this on our phones, including our oldest daughter who is a student at Loyola University, Chicago. Thank you, this app is a must!
hmmallen,
Phenomenal air quality app
I have lived in China and Taiwan for 6 years and tried multiple air quality apps. This one is by far the best for two big reasons: data sources and data history. When I was in China and didn't know what air quality data to trust, I found that this one offered the most choices of data sources and was the most consistent with my personal experience of the air and my handheld air quality monitor. Also, it lets you visualize air quality over the last few days to see how bad (or good it's been) and even check air quality in different places to see which city you might want to move to (haha). Irreplaceable. Thank you so much to the creators of this app! (You could charge a few more dollars to remove ads and I would pay.)
PML01,
Essential and Amazing
I’ve tried so many AQI (air quality index) apps. With the advent of the Canadian wildfire season, the air in the Midwest has been exceptionally awful. This app uses my location (and doesn’t put a hit on my battery) to keep me informed about the state of the air I breath. I use it multiple times a day. Being able to see WHAT is contributing to the AQI (PM2.5, O3, PM10, etc) is also useful for me. The Apple Watch complication works incredibly well! The level of detail that has gone into this app is remarkable. The home screen widgets work really well too. You can stop looking, you’ve found the right AQI app.
TobyIsAGoodBoy,
Broken in China?
Is this app broken in Beijing China? I am in Beijing right now, the app is telling me the air quality score is 345 (which is really, really polluted), however the air is super clean right now. I’m near the center of the city, where the pollution can be awful. I’ve been outside on days where the pollution is 200+ and it’s living hell, the air quality right now is nowhere near 200 or even 100, in fact I rarely experience days in Beijing where the air as clean as it is today!

Another note: Currently the app says the air in Tianjin (天津市), a small city near Beijing, has an air quality score of 700+. With the air being super clean in Beijing right now the possibility of Tianjin having air quality scores that bad are very unlikely. If you live in California and remember the massive wildfire that happened recently, the smoke from that fire caused a score of about 450.
CTUU,
Excellent
I don’t usually write a review, this app made me feel that I should share. It is really good application, not only showing your air quality, it also detect your location and show air in your area. It also have a recommendation whether it’s safe to do activity outside, open window etc, and even a forecast for the next 5 days.

The control of the Philips air purifier is also very good, I can track air quality at home, control the machine getting the air ready for my arrival.
emacshere,
This app really is excellent
I don't write app reviews. This won't be a particularly *detailed* app review either - no feature list / analysis or anything. I'm really tired and I'm having a bad pollen day, but I was using this app to plan my schedule for tomorrow, and thought to myself "Man, these people actually deserve 99 cents. I wish I could tip them. This is meaningfully improving my life a little bit. (nothing life-changing ofc, but I mean, it's a tool and it helps)."

5/5 stars. [Insert glowing technical review here]
Gori20,
Best one among its peers - has mobile stations data
I have 5 apps installed, which i’ve been using daily to compare for about a month now. This one is performing well above all other (also very reputable) ones. The major distinguishing aspect of it is that it collects data from many mobile stations in my area, and not only from the (very few) ones that are constant in their local positions.
That enhances Air Matters’ accuracy and granularity of data, by far!
Haven’t come across any of the other apps to be anywhere near the level of this one.

To improve: I would love to see some more pollen data in the app in my current area (Israel), which seems to be incomplete.

THANKS A BUNCH, keep on the great helpful work please!
nbxtn,
I was forced to use and pay for this dysfunctional crap-app
When I bought my philips air scrubber, little did I know that this app was the only chance to interact with the overpriced and underperforming appliance. After setting it up, the philips device joins my network and can be used with third party open source COAP commandline tools but not with this sorry excuse of an app. To add insult to injury I am forced to pay on top of the price of the already overpriced philips cleaner to remove ads. Seriously... this is 2021... you still do ad stuff and sell broken iot devices? Not amused... (my home network is using aruba access points, if you’re interested to fix this)
Windrider55,
Suggestion for Watch: make stats up top
This app is great for knowing how bad the air is.

One suggestion I have for the Apple Watch version of the app, is to make the statistics on pollen, O3, PM2.5, NO2, CO, etc show up at the top of the watch’s screen.

This is because while pollen may make me feel miserable, the man-made pollutants are actually dangerous to my health, so I’d like to see those up top.
Tom Z Scott,
Always good but a small bug.
I have been using the app for more than three years to detect the air quality in my home, and it has always been good to use!
But after a recent update, I failed to get the data for my air quality monitor laser egg 1, hope the developer will fix the bug!(while get the data from laser egg original app successfullly)
