roscomcmillan,
Incredible
Not only does it sync effortlessly with Plex and immediately across my devices, but it was built by someone who loves audiobooks. It was the easiest money I've spent on an app since Anki.

The app is sleek and packed with helpful features on both the iPhone and Mac Mini. The metadata from Plex (Audnexus agent) syncs over and looks amazing on here. There's many playback speed choices, a sleep timer, and a voice boost that works well. But the feature I love most is the bookmarking ability for notes. Previously with the "Books" app, I would have to screenshot where I was at in the audiobook for every note that I wanted to take (later when finished with the book). I would even add text to the screenshot sometimes in Markup, to make sure I filed the note correctly. But not anymore. Every audiobook "Summary Page" has three tabs below all of the book info: Chapters, Bookmarks, and History. And in the Bookmarks tab, all your bookmarks, along with any optional notes that you can type with them, are filed neatly, and the audiobook jumps to each bookmark when tapped. It's incredible and such a time saver from what I was doing. Incredible app. I'm sure I'll find more good things about after this first day of use.
Tylerdotdo,
A must have for anyone listening to books on Plex
This app is better than audible or the plex app by far. The embedded chapters and bookmark features work really well. I’m disappointed with Audible on how very few books have titled chapters. With this app, however, I can take actually title my own books. Before finding this app, I always had doubts on whether my friends and family could easily use Plex for audiobooks. You had to know where to click on an audiobook to actually resume it. And for audiobooks with multiple files? Forget ever trying to resume your spot In an audiobook if you even thought about playing other media. I could live with all of those shortcomings, but I’ve always had the thought in the back of my mind that some of my family and friends would do better sticking with Audible. All those pain points are no longer a thing, and I can recommend using audiobooks with Plex now, thanks to this app.

Also, the developer has been super responsive. I can tell that continuous improvement is important to him, and this gives me confidence in this app. Can’t say the same about Plex’s support for audiobooks (don’t get me wrong, I love Plex for movies and tv shows).
barefoot-brewer,
Would be 5 stars except for ONE thing
I love this app and use it literally every day. Paid for premium because it's worth every cent and more. My audiobook collection is.. large.. and so I'm usually searching instead of just browsing. My issue is that search is limited to 15 results. For example, I have 36 books by Bernard Cornwell in my library. Searching Bernard Cornwell only displays 15 (as far as I can tell, randomly, as books within series are scattered). Same thing searching for books read by my favorite narrators- 15 results max even on narrators I know I've got 20-30 books by in my library. Is it even possible to make it so searching gives you all results from your library or am I asking for something that can't be done for some reason?
Shadxow,
Fantastic Application!
I started a book club with some family members just as a way to keep in touch with one another as we are separated in different countries and states here in the US. At first we were doing only physical books and ebooks but we started incorporating audiobooks for convenience. Since I’ve always had a Plex library the first thing that came to mind was to add the audiobooks to my library for all of us to listen too and have access.

Prologue has been a phenomenal find! It syncs perfectly with my Plex library and even allows each person to choose their Plex profile! I’ve had literally zero issues as I’ve used this application. The developer is also amazing and super quick to respond to feedback.

Cannot recommend enough!

Fantastic
I’ve been looking for a good replacement for the audible app and this one fits the bill perfectly. Some great features and a solid interface. It’s also been a nice way to share my audio books with my family in a consumable fashion (via permissions in Plex account). My main complaint is there isn’t the best error handling. For things like removing/signing out of your account, books will still be present but if you try listening you’ll get error pop ups. I think there could be a better UX here. I’d also like to see integration with other media solutions like Jellyfin. Other than that though, great job.
Jack McKinney,
Can’t live without it
As a constant audiobook streamer, I use Prologue for more hours than any other app on my phone. It just works. Easy to set up, simple to configure how you want it to work, multiple icon options if you’re picky about the look of your phonescreen, full CarPlay support, and all this for less than the price of a venti coffee.

All the features you’d want in an audiobook player. Read speed, chapters, bookmarks, play history, sleep timer, and the list goes on and on. And I’ve never had a crash. It’s rock stable.

My sole “complaint” is that it doesn’t have a dedicated Apple Watch companion app, though you can control it through the default player app just fine. I’d just love to be able to browse chapters and history or change books without pulling out my phone. But that’s a tiny issue for such a full featured app. Maybe a watch app will be added in the future. I’d pay for it as an in-app purchase in a heartbeat.

If you have a Plex audiobook library, you need this app.
SadTurnip,
Phenomenal app!
I never bother to write reviews for apps generally unless they’re awful. This is the literal opposite of that.
This app is the perfect plex based audiobook experience. Between time left in book actually being listed to consider me listening at faster than 1x speed, a full history of when I listened and to where (I listen to books when nodding off in bed and sometimes lose track of my place if metadata isn’t top notch.)
I also love being able to download the books I’m listening to as well. All in all, awesome experience anyone that doesn’t give this 5/5 has no brain.

Perfect 95% of the time
It does what you need it to do most of the time. Honestly, it was perfect for me until I started using some of the premium features. Sometimes, for downloaded books, one track in the book won't play at all. I just got through a book with over 100 tracks inside and only 2 of them refused to play, so it's not very common. Also, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make collections for books. It's not a huge deal, but it's an advertised premium feature, so I was looking forward to using it to organize my collection.

Hands down the best
Plex lacks a polished interface for audiobooks. Prologue fills that gap. It can read embedded metadata and it keeps track of your progress in a book. You can assign books to collections in Plex and Prologue has a dedicated Collections tab where it beautifully displays your books organized by the collection. I have only one complaint. Currently when you open Prologue it defaults to the Home tab. I would like the ability to change that in settings. It would be nice to be able to choose which tab (Home, Books, or Collections) opened by default.

Works great with Plex
I moved all my audiobooks to my Plex server and needed an audiobook player that would worked with Plex and would let me download content to my phone for when I’m out of service. After a lot of research I tried this app and loved it. The download of content for offline listening requires the paid version.

Only downside is that the apple family is not supported, so if my kids want the offline ability I would have to purchase the app for each of them as well.

I no longer have to use itunes to put audiobooks on my iphone!
