Description

First, there was FM, then came digital and now, meet Radiant!

Radiant is the hottest digital radio service with your digital host, Rad! Rad knows what music you like (Thanks to his deep integration with Apple Music) and plays the soundtrack to your day!

Monday at 8 am on your way to work? Rad's got a song for that! Need help to fall asleep? Let Rad soothe your weary soul. Trying to get over the midday, post-lunch slump. Rad's got you covered!

But wait there's more! Rad's not just a DJ, he's a news anchor, weatherman, traffic reporter and music expert. Throughout the day you'll learn about the backstories of artists, whether today is a shorts and t-shirt or umbrella kinda day, how much traffic you can expect on your commute and hear the local news stories as they happen so you never miss a beat.

Oh and did we mention Rad is interactive? You can tell him if you're really loving what is playing and he'll dig out a few similar ones from the pile to play next, if something not really your speed or you just inexplicably hate an artist you can let him know about that too and he'll change his selections on the fly.

How's all that sound? Sound good? Alrighty then! Let's get started!

All you'll need is an Apple Music subscription and you're ready to tune in to the future of radio!

pastapaul,
Really cool concept
The idea here is super cool, not only is it a “DJ” application, but it also provides intermittent weather updates, quasi-standup comedy routines, and funny little quips relevant to whatever you happen to be listening to at the time. Really makes it feel like an actual radio station, with a “totally real DJ” on the line.

A few things which could be improved:
- Not always responsive when switching / adding music to the queue. Maybe happens once every 45 minutes or so, stops responding and needs a relaunch to start queuing again.
- During the initial setup, I was unable to search for or add any artists, searching was unresponsive and wasn’t able to add any liked artists during setup.
- Would be cool if we could subdivide into “stations” for a particular mood or genre somehow.

Really impressive so far!
Bannach21,
Great Idea, Works Well, Needs Own Personality
Let me start by saying I do enjoy this app, the idea is fresh and is like none other that I've seen before, especially for as well as it works compared to others that have tried to do the same. The music suggestions are usually on par and fit with your music style, and helps find a lot of great new music.

My only and largest gripe is the either stolen/hashed audio bites and sound effects. The opening tone of taken from PRX, and a number of the audio clips that the DJ uses are from various Grand Theft Auto radio stations. Normally this wouldn't bug me, but it kind of takes me out of the moment hearing dialogue I've heard before. I would love to see it take on more of its own personality to make it more unique, and less like it seems like it was just sorta thrown together and trying a bit too hard to be quirky.

Looking forward to see the future of what this developer and app has in store!
Atrayucomo,
I love this so friggin much
This is the coolest app I've seen in a long time! Props to the guys who made it happen! I definitely have a few suggestions if you guys are down to hear them!
aXsdio,
Awesome concept!
Firstly, I love the idea of this and i’m shocked it hasn’t been created sooner. One thing i would suggest is streaming feature where I could play the “radio” on my tv or to another device. I think radios are perceived as background noise often and I usually use devices other than my phone to play background noise so that I can continue my business on my phone
vandykrl,
Cool concept
Had some issues with the app crashing after selecting artists and a few times after that, but then it just started working on the last try to launch it.
Paulbd,
Already fun with a lot of possible room for improvement.
This music recommendation engine is by far one of the best I’ve encountered yet. Also as the continue to flush out the personality of the AI, the app will only get better.
Yates Apple,
Fantastic
Enjoy the announcing, enjoy the music, and, like that, a playlist is created in Apple Music of the songs that I select as liking. Great job!
Twinsfan789,
Great app, annoying crash
The concept and app itself is awesome. I really enjoy listening on the app. With that being said it keeps crashing, and then when I try to reopen it, it continuously crashes. Hope this can get fixed soon!
Tannerdactyll,
Very fun so far!
It’s not super great at picking music at first but has been getting steadily better over time! Love the announcer element, this idea really has potential!
radiantlover121,
Love it
My go to app to listen to music at work and to find new songs
