Description

RadSounds is the world's greatest cause/effect music program for special needs learners. You can customize your playlist by recording or singing new music to your iPad, importing from your iPad's music library, or use the many great songs that we provide, from many types. There is Momentary mode, where the music plays for only the time you hold your finger on the iPad, Timed mode, where the music plays for a specified number of seconds upon each activation, or an advanced mode where the user chooses songs by cycling through their playlist.

RadSounds is *switch-friendly*, that is, for those with physical challenges, a switch (or button) can be plugged into our iPad Switch Interface for cordless access to switch-friendly apps.

Bobby Joe Sumpter,
Fantastic app!
I'm a Special Education teacher providing home instruction and this app has provided so many opportunities to practice guided choice making and independent switch activation, while developing self-reliance for recreation and building blocks for communication exchanges. Well done developers!

The Best Player for Special Populations
I just updated my iPad with the latest iOS. I keep all my apps up to date too. Rad Sounds does indeed import my music from my iPad library with the touch of a finger and no changing anything. It's great because it works with an iPad compliant switch or by touching and holding on the screen. The visual confirmation along with the music is very motivating. I hook up iPad sound to a Blue Tooth speaker and students who have low to no hearing can feel the vibrations. The program does need resources so if other apps are open perhaps closing them will help it run better. As a music teacher I'm planning on seeing if I can get my students to make the music stop and go on visual cue after they discover their ability to control the music and image/cause and effect.
rjs2kate'smom,
Fantastic App allows user choice of favorite playlist of songs
Simple to import songs from your iPad music and create favorite playlist. User can choose which song to listen to with a touch. Or app has some songs to choose from to get you started.

My one wish is that a picture of the album cover or other picture could be shown along with song title so user could have another means to identify song choice, rather than just having a song title to read.

Thanks RJ Cooper for creating this App
Ms amber,
Was good, but updates are sour
I've been around awhile. I was using Radsounds on the computer long before iPads (back when having one computer in the classroom was a BIG deal!). I love it for my students. Then came the iPad and Radsounds, and I could import their favorite music from the music app straight to Radsounds "on the fly". Since Apple has updated iTunes, I cannot upload songs to Radsounds without first changing the format of the music in iTunes on my computer. RJ spoiled me with the first editions, but now says that he can't update it to the new song file formats for iTunes. My school district also changed privileges, and now I can't modify the music. I don't use this app anymore because I can't use my music. When RJ fixes this, I will review again and give Radsounds the 5 stars it should have.
Sue Ellen Holmes,
Switch Access!
I love that this app gave my son the ability to choose songs from his playlist on his iPad 2. We used RJ Cooper's Bluetooth Switch Interface, along with Jimmy's favorite switch, the Micro Light Switch from AbleNet. We found an inexpensive mounting system for his wheelchair that we liked, and a very cheap Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone with a clip to add to his wheelchair chest harness to give him higher volume. Excellent set-up that all started with this app, which made for an awesome Christmas present!!!!

This is a great app for working on cause-effect. Kids love the fun graphics and music. It is easy to use and has various timing options. Fabulous!

Just Okay
I love the idea of this app but execution doesn't seem to be there. The animation and graphics are okay but just okay. My experience with the app leaves me thinking it is an okay app but certainly not the world's greatest. Would like to see a pdf or place to get information on setting up and using. I could not find anything online or on the developers web site. It also keeps crashing on me.
Kmoritz,
Love it!
I love the concept behind this app especially the feature that allows the user to choose when to change songs. I think that music is key to my son's rehab. I wish there was a way to create and save different playlists so that we can use the appropriate playlist for the activity or free time.
AAC Girl,
So much fun!!!
RJ Cooper has done it again! This is a simple to use app with so much potential for the user! It's especially great for teenagers who need to scan as their access method. His company makes a switch device that works with the iPad. No matter what, it's a great app for anyone, including ME!
