Not only is the forced use of this app by schools a gross violation of student privacy, but it is not even at all well designed.
It’s full of bugs and constantly glitches, errors, or refuses to load altogether no matter what you do. More often than not, I have no hope but to quit and reload it over and over again until it finally (mostly appears to) work.
Sometimes, seemingly randomly, sign ins, sign outs and leave requests that show as registered on the student’s device completely fail to appear in the admin’s lists. Meaning that even if you sign in according to protocol at the correct time, the teacher will see you as late or missing.
Many of my friends have been punished for mistakes they never even made, all because of REACH’s incompetence.
If we’re being forced to use this app that tracks and spies on us, at least make it minimally operable!

Hello Reach Community, I am writing today with the hopes that my story can get out to all that need to hear it. This app has been nothing but trouble since the first day of school when we are forced to download it and comply with rules the school has implemented in order to ensure that fun is out of the picture for good. Typical high-school students have some kind of freedom which prepares them for absolute freedom. Not only does reach hinder students of learning how to manage free time and the ability to do as they please, but also provides nothing but headaches for everyone involved. I would give this app a zero if allowed to. I believe this app never should have been approved to go up on the app-store in the first place. P.S- If you are applying to a school that utalizes reach in order to track their students every move, don’t.

I became a high school student of a boarding school back in 2013. One day in either 2015 or 2016, my school decided to use Reach. Everything turned down hill from that point. I Remember everyone took the chance to complain about reach whenever they got a chance to complain. Now at least 6 years passed, I graduated college and started working and everything, lets just say Reach is still my biggest nightmare. I still wake up midnight and remember vividly how bad and stupid it is and how much it made me suffered and got me punished.
Not saying I didn’t enjoy my high school, I did. I’m just hoping my old high school stopped using this system, so it won’t be the same experience hunting the new kids for another 6 years

Why are we here, just to suffer? Every time I open this app, I feel my brain cell count decrease. The question is never what is broken but instead what is working as it is a much smaller list than the prior. I attempt to make a leave request only to find out that hitting the button does nothing, in fact only three of the buttons work. Tapping away at the screen leads to no success and I am finally resigned to my fate of finding the website to finish what I started. I don’t understand why a quest to press a single button has to be so difficult. Whomever created this app needs to reconsider their life decisions as their ability to program is a negative ten out of ten. Do us all a service and remove this from the App Store.

Not only does this app completely invade students rights to privacy but it also hinders their ability to learn genuine independence. This app is so poorly designed sometimes I feel that a monkey could have put it together. Nothing works and it is a complete negative for the entire school community besides the faculty who make it their mission to keep watch of some high schoolers. Why is the question we ask ourselves?

I was going to submit my normal leave request and let me just say that was the start of it all. As soon as it was submitted my phone started to heat up and all of a sudden it morphed into a small person. “Friend or Foe?” I asked. The small nymph liked figure answered, “foe” and leaped towards me. I sprinted in the opposite direction. I am currently hiding in the janitors closet but I sense it’s coming near. Bye for now.

It’s unreasonably difficult to change your request after you’ve filled that area out, and the entire app is just really confusing and difficult to use. I wish they had a focus group or something because there are so many basic errors they could fix.

For what my school uses it for it’s good. We only use it for community meetings or school assembly’s and to sign out to go home or out with another driver as I am at a residential arts high school.

Yeah so we used to use a program called Sentinel and it was just. So so so much better . The UI is janky, it takes forever to load, it’s kinda ugly (literally I can make your graphic design better please), and it keeps asking to access my Bluetooth which is wack. Why does it need my Bluetooth.
