Description

Ready is an open-ended software creator that enables anyone to create games, apps, and software without any previous coding experience.

Afraid of coding but want to learn? Then Ready is for you. Built on Unity3D - a professional game engine - Ready designed to teach you how to “think in code” through an accessible visual interface. Your projects can then be played on iPad, Mac, and PC.

Choose from a library of hundreds of objects, programmatic behaviors like “bullet” and “tilt to move”, along with special effects. Coding becomes simple-- “WHEN this happens, DO this”-- accessible to just about anyone. And if you already know how to code, push the app to its limits and make some awesome “ready made” scenes to show off. You’ll be amazed at how much fun Ready is.

Come build and explore new worlds!

NEW EDITOR UI: The main controls are along the top of the scene, giving you more room to create on the canvas.

RESIZABLE CANVAS: A new “Global Inspector” on the top left of the editor gives you further control over the size of your scene. Tap “smaller” or “bigger” to change size.

PORTRAIT MODE: Create projects in portrait orientation for mobile phones. After tapping “Create New” you’ll be asked for an orientation. You can switch between Landscape and Portrait in the Global Inspector.

Fixed a bug where connecting to Arduino was inconsistent.

General polish and some naughty bugs were turned into cute jelly beans.

We've redesigned Ready Maker to combine "My Workshop" and "Community" in one area. It's now faster to switch between "My Projects," "Featured," and "My Likes."

We also introduced a new, powerful global behavior called "Listener." This means you can now program against keyboard, joystick, and trackpad/mouse events in your projects. You'll find the listener function inside the "System" object in the Event Manager programming area.
So for example, you can now say WHEN System / Listener / Scroll Up / Speed DO.... some other event. This will trigger an event when someone scrolls up using a mouse or trackpad.

Listener is cool when combined with external hardware, like Makey Makey. Please note: any project with listener in it won't detect most of these actions on mobile, as mobile devices don't (usually) have keyboards, mice, and other little critters. Mobile users will get a warning about this. So you should be a good programmer and think about clever ways to switch your controls between keyboard or tap gestures when you're making a multi platform project.

Happy making!

You can now link from one Ready project to another!

In the Event Manager, create an event WHEN something happens DO System / System / Load Project and select the project you want the user to load. This allows for the creation of complex games with multiple levels, where each level is a linked project from the prior level.

We also fixed an annoying issue with the "Control Pad" behaivor- it was too small on mobile, so you can now expand it. And on desktop, when you disable the Control Pad behavior, keyboard input will now be ignored. Which is what should happen when you turn something off!

Happy making!

We added some more information about the Ready Maker subscription in the app itself. We also fixed a glitch with classes not behaving properly in the Event Manager. Happy making!
2.5.7

Ready now gives you a built in help system. Follow step-by-step video instructions on how to build! You can open and close the help system from inside the Ready editor and community area. The help system includes integrated chat, so you can ask for help and get a live response. This version also supports WebGL functionality, so your projects play better in desktop browsers.

Has Friends,
THERE is a Bug in one of my games
it is when a button does not work when you have another action to subtract it or add it. It is my game where you have a nation and you can control it but the problem is ,is when you try to trade with Yellow for cheese, the Army button fails and you can not progress nor start the game game is 5 stars, bug is 0 stars so that is why I did the 3 or middle star

FIX IT PLS I want to show my game to my dad! But I can not and I am saddened cuz my sister B day party is soon and I want to show it to my friend but I can not!!! 😢😢😢
TryAgainStudios,
Very good, but very limited
A few years of using the app, and I can tell its very simple and easy to use. It does everything it says it can do, and its easy to learn. However, there are some things you just cant do for some reason, like not being able to sense something not touching something else, or not knowing how far away something else is. There are also occurrences that make the game unpredictable, like the jump power being slightly random. Im not saying that everything needs to be super complex, but please just make it a little easier to make complex things happen.

Ive also noticed how hard it is to change the order of events. If there was some way to change when events run, that would be great!

Continue being great, DrMafario
RE432011,
There’s 1 problem
The 1 problem I’m stating is that there is an option to add your own sounds on iPad but when I click it the game either crashes, or nothing happens so if you can please add the option to add your own sounds on all devices, I would really enjoy if you did :) and one more thing, it’s more of a request, can you add a function that something goes to your finger at a certain time, like when you tap down or something.🙂and how do people see your projects when there’s no search option? And can you please add a search option? If so then thanks
FrankieGue,
Game pages, publish button, and upload error
Hi, I’m Warzone. I really love the way this app works! So much designs, GIFs, sounds, and event options. There is three things that bother me though.

1. A publish button.
Either I’m blind or there is no button to publish your game for others to see on the app. (IDK how you get the list of games on most featured so I thought y’all had a publish button but I don’t see one.) If you do add a publish button (this leads to my next thing) can you please add...

2. Different game pages.
Basically it’s like the most features page but instead it’s newly published, most plays, most likes, and other stuff.

3. Upload Error (on uploading your own gifs)
This always happens to me. Every time I upload my own gif it just won’t stop loading as a blank spot or a load icon. Oh! Also can you add delete on the edit gif page? I have too much gifs saved and I can’t delete any.

Thank you so much if you do these things.👍
codfatbud,
Hi developer
I don’t know why but I just can’t figure out how to publish my games I just made one I’m very proud of I’ve looked up videos but there aren’t any other than that it’s the best app I’ve found so far also I really think it would improve the app if there was a search bar were you play the games if you could fix these things it would be great thinks👍🙂😊
JamSnack,
Easy but very limited
I have been a game developer for 5 years now and I can say that this is a very solid application for beginners, however the app is incredibly limited in its functionality. There are only a few behaviors and events you can set off that only allow for very small concepts and almost no variation in gameplay.

The app would be great if you COULD make your own behaviors/event functions.
Dkmis,
Help me I can’t add audio
I tried importing audio but a translucent box keeps popping up that I’m assuming is the window I can select my audio from but it just doesn’t load. I closed the app 3 times and I still had the same problem. I even restarted my device and I still had the problem. I’m using an iPad Pro 2018 model. Can you fix this if I’m not the only one having this kind of problem please? I’m very surprised this app is free and I enjoy it a lot!
real person existing,
fine app
It’s pretty good… but one thing is it’s hard to understand the way you program stuff in it (which is a skill issue for me lol)… also I am on iPad and I can’t export my own songs because it takes me to the iTunes Store which I have to BUY the music… it would be better to make it the files instead of iTunes Store
Xronzy,
Too Beautiful to abandone
I have made progressive programs in this app, and would love for the creators to bring it back to life. Everything works fine, rather when low internet only has a few bugs. But otherwise its the best program development app.
bryson5335,
I can’t add anything it’s a ripoff for me
So I downloaded the App today thinking it would be easy and I would be able to make stuff as easy is it is to make a game In a website that i forgot the name of but when I started to try and create a game I tried putting something in the game but I couldn’t it made no sense I tried again and I couldn’t i tried in many ways but nothing would happen I just really want it to be easier but I just can’t create anything please help
