Description

Newly updated for 2023, including new FAA questions and topics.

This app will prepare you for the FAA drone exam by testing your knowledge with over 500 questions, including actual FAA questions and questions covering all of the new regulations relating to night operations, Remote ID, and operations over people.

This app does not include any training content, but does provide explanations for all answers. We offer two apps to prepare for the FAA drone exam:

◗ Remote Pilot Test Prep (this app) - Practice questions to prepare for the exam
◗ Remote Pilot Ground School - A complete training course plus practice questions

While it is possible to learn the material tested on the exam by "getting the answers wrong," and memorizing the correct answer, if you are new to drone flying, we recommend our Remote Pilot Ground School app, which includes a complete course covering every area tested on the exam.

If you are undecided on which app is the right app for your needs, you can purchase this app and later upgrade to the complete Ground School via in-app purchase for the price difference.

Your purchase of this app also provides you with free access via the web so you can prepare for the exam on any device.

◖◖CONFIGURE CUSTOM SESSIONS◗◗

Use Study Mode to create question sessions based on topics, session size, and your overall mastery. Filters allow you to include or exclude questions based on mastery and other question characteristics.

Use Exam Mode to take simulated FAA drone exams administered in a timed environment under the same rules as the real FAA drone exam. Unlike other test prep apps, our exams present the correct proportion of questions from each knowledge area per the ACS.

◖◖REPORTS AND STATISTICS◗◗

Gauge your progress and readiness to take the drone exam. Create and send reports of your exam history to anyone.

◖◖OTHER FEATURES◗◗

Drone subject matter is categorized into discrete topics, enabling focused study sessions and better insight into weak areas.

View definitions of key terms and acronyms in answer explanations

Explanations consisting of text, graphic, applicable regulation, or a combination thereof.

Multi-tasking support allows you to use FlightReady side by side with any FAA drone references.

Proficiency is tracked using a proprietary algorithm that assigns a mastery level to each question. Know when you are ready for the drone exam when most questions reach the highest mastery level.

Figures and charts are presented in the same screen so that you can view both the question and the figure. We use the actual figures in the FAA's knowledge test supplement for the remote pilot exam.

Quickly create new sessions from missed questions, or review missed questions and explanations.

An FAA remote pilot license is required to operate drones commercially. FlightReady has trained tens of thousands of drone pilots, and offers the most complete drone subject matter coverage. Our test prep and training courses are the key to success on the FAA drone exam.

FAA-certified remote pilots are no longer required to take a recurrent exam every 2 years to continue exercising their privileges, and instead must complete a recurrent training course on the FAA website. Recurrent knowledge tests taken before April 1, 2021 are valid for the purpose of meeting currency requirements under the new regulations.

The Bunnis,
Great study guide
From my initial test two years ago I took a live class and I just barely scraped by passing the test that time. I think I got a 75. This time around two years later, Time for my recurrent knowledge test, I used this app to refresh my memory on the information rather than taking another life class. I got an 85, and of course there’s the odd stupid question or two that I should have gotten right so really I could’ve got a 90, not that it matters. This app has everything I need, It’s very clear, very informative, the diagrams and figures are great, and most importantly, the material covered on the app is accurate to what you will face on the exam. There was only one very random subject on my exam today that was not on the app, but it’s possible that has been patched by now. Bottom line: well worth the price, especially considering I will be using it again two years from now and etc.

***UPDATE***
The developer contacted me and asked about the test question mentioned above, so I take that to mean they will look into adding that question/subject if it is indeed missing from the app. Great customer support! One more reason to get this terrific app!
Free hints12,
Great Test Prep App
I just took my initial test and passed on the first try with a 93% score.
Do not go off and spend $100’s of on one of the many online prep classes. I was able to successfully pass with the help of this app and the free materials provided by the FAA (you will find links to there in the library portion of the app).
Study those materials, use this app to show you where your weak areas are and study more. Once you can consistently score over 90% on this app’s practice exam 10 or more times in a row you should have nothing to worry about. My official test score was actually 1% higher than my last practice exam!
Remember don’t memorize the questions or the answers, they will be different on the actual test, but if you know they why behind everything you have noting to worry about.
I highly recommend!
Ihrke015,
Worth the money!
I can't say enough about this app! If you're hesitant to spend money on it, keep in mind it might save you $150 and a retest. For the record I have no previous experience with aeronautical information and most was extremely confusing at first.

Before getting this app I studied the online pdfs but had a hard time making sense of it all (it's a lot to take in!) but when I finally felt confident I took a practice test and realized I was far from ready.

I decided to purchase this app and started taking simulated tests almost everyday and using the study materials provided with the app in between when I had time. In about 1 month I went from averaging 65% on the practice tests to averaging 95%.

Today I took the test and only missed 7 questions. Out of these 7, most I had tagged on the exam and simply wasn't sure of the answer. Almost all of the answers I got correct I answered confidently and had no second thoughts on at all. Some questions were almost word for word from this app and almost all were formatted identically to ones I had seen before.

I have no experience with the other apps that are available but if you are serious about spending $150 on the test I highly recommend considering this app!
Pilot42112,
Scored a 95!
I used only this app and took the exam the second day it was available nationwide, so I was a little hesitant given that no one really knew what would be on it.

The test had many questions similar and sometimes identical to those on the app. There was very little I saw on the exam that I didn't already see on the app.

The only suggestion I have is to prepare to apply the knowledge you learn from studying or the app to real life scenarios. For example, some questions ask about flying in a particular area with obstacles, and what airspace would you be in if you had to clear the obstacle. Sometimes flying over the top puts you in controlled airspace, sometimes it doesn't.
Rwatson58,
Superbly design study app
Just passed my exam last Thursday. I find the most helpful aid in this app is the "show explanation". Let's face it, unless you are a pilot or serious aviation buff, interpreting sectional charts, reading abbreviated weather data and calculating wing load is just not something that comes naturally. I have compared this app with some of my friends' (some costing over $200) and went with this one. This app does an excellent job presenting the material, point out your weaknesses and presents a good simulated test. Over 90% of the study material out on the test! So if you just master the study material, technically you should be able to pass. Bravo to the designer and programmer.
R. Todd muffins.,
I enjoy practice tests.
While I haven’t taken the test yet, I will go confidently into the testing facility when I go.
I’ve been using this app for a few months with large breaks I was too busy in life to use it. Recently the questions just got a lot harder, and that makes me feel the cost of the app was a good long term investment.
The practice section and the exam section had some different questions, which leads me to believe there will be some questions on the actual test that were not covered. Little surprises.

This is a great app to spend a few months studying. I will of course change this review drastically if I fail the test. But I’m confident.
J-inPA,
Aced the Recurrent...But You Have to Study and Undeserstand
This is a great tool for drilling and focusing on weak areas until you are grooved. I aced the recurrent last week using this course almost entirely, but also had some question types that were not in the prep course. You have to not only understand the right answer, but WHY it is right , and WHY every distractor choice is wrong. Take the time to read the explanations on all of the practice questions, right or wrong, and when you start to recognize all of them and stop missing any, it’s time to check a few other sources for a different spin, and to schedule your test.
Eddie_789,
Great app
I took the part 107 test today and passed with 90% score!! This app has many questions that are great for preparing you for the exam.
If you only memorize these questions on this app and not know the reason behind each answer I would guarantee you that you will fail the test!!!
I would use these questions as a reference to broaden your knowledge about part 107 and because most of the questions on test are very tricky and differently formulated you'll need to know the exact reason why you would choose that specific answer.

Overall great this is one of the best apps out there.
Brett Gentry,
Helped with my first test
I was so glad I used this app two years ago to take my first Part 107 test. By studying with this app for just over 3 weeks, I was able to pass my first test with an 85%, and the ones I got wrong were forehead slappers.

I just took my recurrent last week, and I used this app to study again. However, there were some questions on my recurrent that were not in these materials. A few of them were common sense answers, but a couple of them were answers that needed good study materials, and this app did not include those materials. I got an 88% this time (missed 4 of 40), but I still passed. It was nice to review the materials and know that I understood the charts.

I just took my test today and scored a 93! This app was a huge help and was well worth the money. I have already recommended it to my friends. Many of the questions on the actual test seem to come directly out of this app. For those solely relying on the FAA study guide, you will want this app because there are many questions in hear that cover topics that are not covered in the study guide, yet are on the test. I honestly thought that the app was harder than the test itself. I scored higher on the actual exam then I was able to score on this app.
