This is my fave racing game on Apple Arcade
I’ve downloaded so many racing games and they’ve all fallen a little short for one reason or another. I was hesitant to download this one but I decided why not? I downloaded it to my Apple TV first and wow the graphics and physics are so lifelike. I also think there are unique challenges in the courses bc it’s water and not a road.
I love having the ability to play with 4 people coop style (4 players in person with a split screen). Just wow. The only negative I can think of is that it’s a little addicting so make sure you finish your work before you download bc I couldn’t put it down once I started 😅

Arcade version flawed to cause purchase of paid version?
I have played this in the past before it was on Arcade; and it’s a great game. However on this version I am stuck at maxed out hydrojets until winning a future match that I can not get to because it is impossible. Maxed out equipment, I own all the stunts/tricks; I take advantage of drag from jets ahead of me but in Grand Prix 5-3 Championship the other racers start ahead and stay ahead the whole time. Its not like the other gameplay and there is not attainable advancement past this for the semi-serious, casual player. After having such trouble, I went back and re-raced any event I didn’t completely sweep. I now have won all events up through 5-3. I have $469,880 in winnings but can’t get to the next hydro jet and have all the tricks owned so nothing to spend it on and it’s getting boring and frustrating running the same races with what has proven to be not a fair shot to even place. It isn’t cool to withhold advancements in equipment by making certain levels impossible. Don’t waste your time with this unless you don’t mind the game stopping you halfway through with a completely frustrating and impossible experience. Must be the maker hopes to earn money from people buying something outside of arcade which should be looked into, Apple Arcade staff.

Just as fun as hydro thunder.
My first time playing this game and I’m thoroughly impressed feels like you’re @ an arcade playing one of those old jet ski games or hydro thunder. My only complaint truly is when I’m playing without a controller some of the tricks are so difficult to input and it can become frustrating without a controller at higher difficulties. Other than the game is stellar. I hope to see a party mode added with weapons and boosters and stuff that’d be the cherry on top. Thanks for the fun really had a good time with this one!

Less of that, more of this
I have installed, played once, then uninstalled a large amount of Apple Arcade games. The last game I really enjoyed was beyond a steel sky. Since then, arcade has become just a secondary App Store with the same genre of lackluster games. Definitely not worth paying money for. But, this game isn’t lackluster at all. Graphics are great - controls and controller support are great - replay-ability is there. I like it. Arcade please keep your promise and don’t let this become just another cheap App Store.

Responsive & Challenging
Playing this game with a controller is so much different than using screen controls.
Game physics are really good and having a good time with a racing game requires responsive accurate controls. This game has that.
It’s not an easy game to win and I appreciate a challenge when I’m playing a new game. These are the games I usually play for along time.

Becomes impossible the more you play
I really loved this game, there's not many racing games like it on the app store. It's really fun, and it's easy to progress until you get farther in the game. There are levels I have played over and over for days that are quite literally impossible to beat. Makes me want to delete the game, it's frustrating! Even with the latest maxed out hydrojet it's impossible. If you're in the lead someone uses a boost and passes you at the last minute and you're stuck in 2nd, when you need 3 stars to pass. It would've been a 5 star game if not for that!

Outstanding Racer for the IPad
Me and my son can’t get enough of this game. It plays wonderfully even with three and four split screens. It reminds me of some of the legacy arcade racing games that you had to pump quarters into. If I could do anything to make this game better it would be to have a road rash style battle. One where if you got close enough to a racer you could sabotage them with a well times kick or a punch to the back of the helmet. That, and a better soundrack. Perhaps in a future update? 😅

Fun but almost impossible on later bosses
I love this game but am giving up on it. I love the mechanics, physics and graphics but I cannot beat the Vyper quest to save my life, and he is the second to last boss! I have been stuck on him for a month. I have done everything I can think of using all the tricks in the given repertoire after maxing every upgrade up it’s still impossible, I always come up second best. I love when games hard, but dang! It’s just straight up impossible even with drafting and no mistakes in your run.

Same Old Apple Arcade
This game is just ok. But as per almost every Apple Arcade game this is the same as the regular version with a plus and you don’t have to pay for it. Also, I don’t understand why they would release it for Apple Arcade and not update the aspect ratio. I have an iPhone 13 and I lose about 10% of the screen on this game. Why not extend the play area to the normal edges?? It makes me not want to play this on my phone, and be too annoyed to download it onto my iPad.

Recycled old game
There’s really not much that’s new about this game, for those of us who played the original release many years ago.
The tilt controls were de rigueur back in the day, primarily to create a use for the then-new accelerometers. Very few people actually wanted to use them in the first place, and they’re rare to find in games released today.
Graphics are outdated, and the low-poly models haven’t been updated to take advantage of the much better hardware. There’s no noticeable texturing to add some more detail in the absence of more polys.
I really didn’t get too far into the game this time around, because it’s pretty much the same game I’d already played, and because I despise the tilt controls.
It is far more playable than Galaga Wars+ though.
