Great new game!
I almost never pay for a new game with no ratings yet, but this one's on sale for 1 more day, for $3.99. I took a deep breath and based on the reviews already written, got it. I am so happy I did!
Beautiful graphics, super story line, a strategy guide, a great interactive map that I found by accident & was so glad. You have to go to the menu to get it. The hint button is very accurate & resets quickly. The games are varied & different which I like, but my favorite part is the HOPs. They're different than any I've ever seen & are somewhat challenging, but not so hard that you want to throw up your hands & quit. No limit, of course, on hints, & you don't have to buy anything once you've bought it. It doesn't seem like it's going to be super short, either.
I really can't think of a bad thing. I think this is the 1st time I've ever given a game 5 stars.

Bonus chapter busted
Game is good, as are nearly all Big Fish games. The problem comes in the Bonus Chapter. DO NOT LEAVE the tavern until you've found the coordinates. If you do, you'll be stuck outside with no way to get them. (According to their forums, this "bug" is over a year old.) I bought this game 2 Sep 16, and it's still broken.
Enjoyable game, until it snitted.

Great to relax with
The game design is super creative. Most of all though I like how soothing the music is.

Slowed disappointment
Game started out fine. About halfway through continuously froze up very frustrating. Very unresponsive to commands. I finished finally. Even the bonus section had worse problems

Lost tides - found a fan
Beware - in the beginning there is a storm that features lighting which means lots of flashing lights. May cause migraine (it did for me but story was interesting enough that I played through it although with frequent breaks)
Now the good news. So far great story, save your brother, parents and cruise ship lost at sea for 20 years then mysteriously reappears. Task indicated transporting map (found along with journal under menu button bottom left), labeled inventory, original HO (morphing objects in HO scenes) and you collect sea shells in every scene. Custom difficulty available.

Great game
Few glitches but for the most part one of the best games I ever played

Good Game for most part
I really enjoyed the primary game. Good story line and kept my interest. Good map although I don't like it in the menu area. Mini games not too difficult and hos were fun. The only glitch is that I can't finish the bonus game. I get stuck in the plane and cannot move on. It won't even let me go back. In the guide I am suppose to pick up the back pack and exit plane but I can't pick up the pack. For this reason I gave it four stars. I feel a bit gipped out of my money.

Graphics are lovely, and the game is somewhat entertaining.
However, to use the interactive map, you have to open the menu and the open the map. Maybe I'm lazy, but I prefer the map to be on the toolbar rather than hunt for it.
Also, using the compass/amulet to "clear" an area so that you can pick up an object you can clearly see is silly and tedious.
Mad head puts out some wonderfully beautiful and entertaining games, but this one falls a bit short.
Lastly, the cut scenes and character dialogues are far too long!!! I admire the skill that is needed to create both and appreciate the effort to immerse the player into the "world" of the game to enhance the suspension of disbelief; however, if I want to watch movies, I'll turn on the TV.
I'm still a big fan of MadHead, and I'm looking forward to its next release with, hopefully, some of the more annoying elements removed or improved.

Maybe All Is Not Lost in Lost Tides!
Rites of Passage: The Lost Tides starts with a storm, and then gets spookier. Mad Head Games are usually well-done, as is this one. Beautiful art work and story, with Map and Journal. Love the Seashells in every scene, and the Morphing Objects in the Hidden Object games. However, I am deducting one point for the lack of a Skip button, such as in the Wake the Elf with Mirrors game. If there is that function, it is not labeled as such. Sometimes I just want to hop to the next puzzle, particularly after midnight! Watch out for that sneaky Evil Mermaid!
