Huggy Bear 16,
Good App
The app is good and I enjoy that it will give me a challenge along with my other workout routine to cut weight and shed body fat. The only issue that I would like added to the app is an offline capability where it knows your profile but if you don’t have the chance to get WiFi or service then it will keep and save your workout and when you connect back it uploads to your profile. I also had an issue with 2 of my workouts when linked with the PM5 that it didn’t save my stats so I feel like it did it for nothing and don’t have the stats to progress, its unfortunate and a little demotivating. Other than these 2 problems its great just wish it could do a little more. I’m not in an area that gives the app what it needs to be successful.

Good, Needs Work
After just one use, I like it, but here’s one annoying defect: It classifies some workout types incorrectly — or at least inconveniently — e.g., some set pieces are classified as ‘Variable Interval’. That makes them ineligible for ranking in the Concept2 log. Ranked workouts need to be ‘Fixed Distance’.
Jrummel83,
Incredibly helpful and challenging
I have been using Row Forge for the last month or so and I have to say, the results have been outstanding! After testing all of the areas from 100m to “The Hour of Power” you can see the specific area needed to improve specific distances or timed rows. You use a few of the many varieties of workouts to focus on that specific area and then after 4-6 weeks working on that area, retest and see your progress.

The conditioning plan helps get new rowers familiar with form and technique over a 6 week period, rowing 5,000m 4 times a week to gradually work towards overall fitness and health.

If you’re looking for HIIT training there are those as well.

The program is completely unique to you, based on your personal profile. It’s incredible and challenges you every workout to improve.

Definitely recommend this app to rowers of all caliber!!
AmyHD,
The best rowing app ever
If you are an indoor rower or even use one regularly, you will love how cool this app is. It’s so worth it. The workouts are super tailored to YOU and your level, not at all a one size fits all. And soooo many workouts. I love how after doing all my tests it tells me what to focus on and beating my last scores on the workouts is super motivating!! If you’re a gamer like my husband you’ll love the badges too!
LaurenGue,
Highly recommend this app
This app is awesome!! I have improved my 2000 meter score so much by using this. I started out at 132 watts at my first test, and recently achieved 205 watts at my last retest in September. I love how all of the workouts are personalized based on 2k score. It’s challenging but you can see your improvement week by week.
AC Agbulldog,
Great app
I have never once taken the time to comment on an app but decided to for Row Forge. The program is excellent and has allowed me to get in shape on my own without a trainer. I highly recommend their personalized training system.
Rzimmerwoman,
Target watts bogus
For anyone who is an actual rower... this is NOT the right app for you. Maybe it’s okay for CrossFit or recreational rowers, I don’t know, but not for an experienced rower.

Rowers work from /500m splits the vast majority of the time. This app ONLY gives targets in watts. It also does not factor in your spm at all. Your targets are based solely on your pr watts for a particular distance. I found that the targets were WILDLY inaccurate (wanting me to essentially pr on every single piece).

It also does not give any variation in the type of workout. Yes, there are “categories” like “heart power” or “heart endurance” or “muscle power” or “muscle endurance” .. but there is no real difference. I want categories more like “peak workouts” “training workouts” and “recovery workouts” or something like that.

It is a disappointing app.
BaggeC,
Meters missing in Strava
Once the workouts sync all the way through to Strava a few meters are missing. I haven’t seen the same behavior using ErgData. Curiously the workouts appear correct in the concept2 log. All 3 5k done through this app have a few meters missing in Strava. I will test this more and if I am wrong update my review. Otherwise the concept is cool, I love anything Viking
SKP_92223,
Like it
I like the new update, it was getting a bit buggy but the update seems to have fixed it.
paid2fall,

Hopefully they will make a version for the BikeErg and SkiErg
