Not updated for iOS 8
This app is still not working with the phone in sleep mode. In the support section for this app there is only one question, and it deals with this very issue. The solution is to go to settings>sound>ringers and alerts and make an adjustment. There is no such setting in iOS 8. The app simply doesn’t work with the your phone in sleep mode and the alert doesn’t sound unless your phone is awake, which will kill your battery. This issue makes the app completely useless. Runner’s Interval Timer used to be my go-to app for interval running, but I can no longer use it.

basic and effective
Easy, effective. The interval signal is a clanging bell as with boxing. 15 second increments for intervals. will run in screen lock mode, will not run in background. Silencing ringer does also silence interval signal but not iPod. Start iPod first, then timer then screen lock and buh-bye. I think the bell might get annoying for group activities. Would pay more for this if the signal could be changed to something less intrusive. ;-) Although it is already a very good price.

Thanks for the update!
Your April 25th update fixed the issue with the chimes not sounding when hitting the lock button on my iphone 5. And you brought back the old chimes, which makes it much easier to hear over my music! I was worried I was going to have to find another app to use during my marathon next month, But now I don't have to find something else! Thank you!

Disappointed
You can't hear the tones over your music. There should also be an overall timer (I want to run/walk 15s/45s for a total of 30 minutes) - I didn't know when my 30 minute run was over. You need to integrate music into the app like Nike's running app so that the music dims when the app's bell rings. Disappointed I spent money on this app.

Gets the job done
I downloaded this app the morning of my 5k run. It was perfect for my purposes. I would like to suggest an improvement: they can offer options for the alarm tone. I almost missed the alarm a couple of times till I realized it blends with the music sometimes. I started watching out for it and the. It was fine. Also please make it work even If the app is minimized. That would make this app perfect!

Simple to use!
I wanted an interval timer app that didn't take a lot of time to set up and this is it! Very easy and simple to use. It can be changed quickly if I'm midway through a workout and I need to switch up. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish there was a way to change the sound of the alert tones. Overall, not bad for 99cents.

I'm just starting running and there is a bug in you selection that you can choose a 15 second 30 second or 45 second run interval but when you go to start it it starts at 1 minute regardless of that selection. Just something you may want to fix.

Great interval timer/audio customization
I just purchased the app. It will work for my long distance run/walk workouts, but I would love to be able to customize the alarm sound. Any plans to allow this customization ? Thanks.

Would be perfect if chimes could be heard
Love how easy it is to use...easiest interval timing app I've found. My major complaint is that I can't hear the interval chime over my music (and I'm not one who listens to my music loud at all). If there was an option for music to pause when interval signal chimes, this would easily be 5 stars.

Notification problem
When I run with my friends and use the app for the intervals, we noticed that it doesn't always beep. The problems doesn't seem to occur if I use headphones.
