Description

Sabbath School 4 is the introduction of a new fresh user experience. This is also sets the foundation in which we will build more features to enrich your Bible study experience.

This is the official app of the Sabbath School Bible Study Guides.

Sabbath School 4 is a Bible study app for the student, teacher, and small group leader. The studies are built on Scripture and encourage the reader to discover a better understanding of the Bible.

This app is produced by the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department of the General Conference. If you have questions or issues with this app, please contact the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department in the support link or at http://www.sabbathschoolpersonalministries.org/iphone. Feedback is what enables us to make this app relevant to you. (By the way, rating us for features we haven’t thought about yet doesn’t quite help the process.)

The Publications:

Beginner is a two year, monthly, curriculum for ages 0 to 2. Beginner lessons are intended for children under age two. Let's face it--these little ones don't sit still long enough! (Parents of a child who is more advanced may choose to use the Kindergarten study guide if the child is ready for more information.)

Kindergarten is a two year, weekly, curriculum for ages 3-5. There is one lesson per week with illustrative activities for each day.

Primary is a four year, weekly, curriculum for ages 6-10. There is one lesson per week with illustrative activities for each day.

Junior PowerPoints is a four year, daily, curriculum for ages 10-13.

Real Time Faith is a two year, daily, curriculum for ages 13-14.

Cornerstone Connections is a four year, daily, curriculum for teens.

Collegiate Quarterly (CQ) is a daily study based on a quarterly theme. A different young adult writes each day. The writers are from an international pool and bring a varied perspective on the week’s study.

The Adult Bible Study Guide (ABSG) and CQ are quarterly studies that explore the Bible and Biblical teaching. Where one author per quarter writes the Adult Bible Study Guide, about 91 international authors write CQ, one each per day, per quarter. Both follow the same curriculum for the given quarter.

Jasori1999,
Not what it used to be...
I used to use this app exclusively for my weekly lesson study. But things have changed that have caused me to go to the printed version instead. My three pet peeves with the app are:
1. Bible verses are no longer linked in the lesson.
2. Notes/answers written in the lesson are no longer saved.
3. The app used to save your place so in the morning you open the app and you are already at the lesson for that day.

They are little things, but they were enough to get me to switch. I do my lessons early in the morning and need all the help I can get! Now that I do the printed version there is no more finger flicking exercises in the morning, just go to the the folded over page and begin. No more switching apps to look up texts, Bible app ready and waiting. And my notes and answers don’t disappear from my notebook.

The app is handy for when I forget to get my new quarterly, as I did last Sabbath. And is okay for travel, I don’t need to bring the quarterly... still need my notebook though.

I would switch back to the app full time if it went back to the way it was, but until then, I am stuck adding to the tree death count.

One thing I wished the old app had and would love to see in a new version, links to the E.G.W. references. I know that is a lot more space, but if you could come up with a way to link up with the EGW app so you click the link and it opens their app to the referenced selection that would be great!
Kinny Cornstalk,
One Step Closer to a Working App
Like others have stated, for a couple of years this app would install, but when you tried to sync, it would never succeed, so you had the app on your phone but no lesson. I finally removed it as it was useless. I tried again last month and to my surprise, it will now sync and go to a page that allows you to select a week and upload the lesson. The problem is, when you want to move to the next lesson a week later, there is no way to go back to the menu that gives you the option to select your week. The only way I've found to accomplish this is to uninstall the app, then reinstall it. Has anyone at the development team tried to actually use the app? You're going in the right direction. Nice work so far but you're not finished.
Jvegarn,
This app is such a blessing to me and my kids
I use this for daily study of the adult lesson and stream the children's lessons for kindergarten and primary. For this age children (4-year-olds), the visual videos keep their interest.
I like that there is a variety of lessons to choose from for every age.
Sometimes a lesson will not load, or is unavailable. This upset me. Then as I read the reviews, I discovered that uninstalling and reinstalling will often fix that issue. Now I'm happy.
Thank you for this wonderful resource.
I especially like having so many reliable bible story videos to teach my children to love God's word. I'm glad to find that the children's lessons remain available for at least a year. Little kids like to see the same story over and over, helping to fix the lesson in their minds.
Andygilly,
This app is a great idea, but needs a lot of work!
I love the fact that this app exists; that is was designed and implemented! I love the convenience of having my and my children’s quarterly with me everywhere.
I am however quite disheartened by the lack of attention to details payed by those who manage this app. It is obvious to those of us who use it on a regular basis.
Is it possible for the “app master” to please pay attention to the fact that during any given week, many sections of the app do not function as they should, or do not function at all.
At times, sections (quarterlies, pages, podcasts, etc,) cannot be opened or downloaded and there is a blank screen where a lesson should be; links to the Bible cannot be opened; typed answers to questions are not saved and disappear when the app is closed; sections of the lessons cannot be highlighted.
There. Is. Always. A. Problem!
Where is the excellence that is due God’s work? We serve a God of order and excellence. Where is the adherence to the directive of 1 Corinthians 10:13 “ So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”. Others and I have been frustrated for years by the malfunctioning and under-performance of this app. I pray someone will make it their priority to improve it to the standard to which it ought to be functioning.
mochamoola,
Nice but needs to be fixed
This is a handy and convenient tool to study your Sabbath school lesson without having torn or overly folded pages. The draw back is Not having the Bible linked to the verses when you click on it. At first I thought it was something wrong with my phone. I was all in settings trying to find out why my java wasn’t working. This was a great feature bring it back. Also you can’t save any messages in the notes. I’m just writing and it kept disappearing out the space. Once again I thought it was my IPhone and I didn’t have enough space. Wrong!! I have plenty of space. I was told if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Those features were great and didn’t need to taken away from the appt.
JMC,
I like it but please fix...
The lesson is slow to load, sometimes opens to a blank page and does not load at all for the current week. Also the highlighting feature is spotty, works on some days for the week, but not all. Also when transitioning to a new quarter, I’ve noticed that the new quarter’s lessons are not readily available. I have to delete the app and re-download it to get the new quarters lessons; sometimes the new lesson does not show up until after the week has begun.
I like the live link for Bible references in NIV and KJV. Have you about adding other versions, like Clear Word or Message? Also making a live link for EGW quotes and cross references would enhance the study. Just some thoughts for the digital age.
adventistyouth,
Beautiful app and a big help
But , just a suggestion. The spaces left open to type your opinion and answers to the questions given. When the characters are entered in that provided area, they disappear after i restart the app. If my work and progress can be saved then this app would be 5 stars.
Also, the bible verses that are somewhat linked. They shoul be able to take us to the bible verses to either an existing bible app on our device or a bible app that is linked to the sabbath school app so that when we press and hold on the bible verse, it should take us there. Like a bible pop up feature maybe.
Overall the app is amazing and comes in handy.👌🏾
Thank you!

⛪️💻📜📖❤️‼️✅👍🏻😊😊
I've used this app for a few years now on my iPad Air, mainly just the adult lesson. Very occasionally I read the teacher comments/supplement. Everything works fine, highlighting, adding comments.
The only thing that doesn't work for me is the like to verses in the book of palms in the lessons. It's weird because all the other bible verse links work, it's just the book of psalms that when you click the link it goes to a blank screen. But everything else works great and the app is easy to use and update week to week for new lessons.
Dwstovall,
Does Anyone at General Conference Care ?
What a shame that no one seems to be paying attention to a great tool for the digital age.

I’ve called Sabbath School division who claim the non caring miscreants in charge are at Pacific Press. Pacific Press people say they are required to seek the lowest bid for web maintenance. The hyper text tags for bible texts stopped working years ago as iOS updates occurred for new devices. At Quarters end no lesson comes up although Sabbath lesson begins the study week.

The Sabbath School of the seventh Day Adventist Church is the largest study organization in the world, all over the world individuals are studying the same lesson unless they’re studying from this weeks lesson. Careless scanning and no follow up mean no lesson beyond Sabbath afternoon for this digital week. Pity !
Jetghost,
This app is truly a blessing
I love this app, it is truly a blessing, a God send and must be heaven ordained. I’m a Sabbath School teacher and I use all the time. It’s only rarely that I have a problem with it not opening a particular week. I usually use it on my iPad but sometimes I don’t have my iPad with me and want to use my iPhone, but they don’t sync together, so I can continue where I left off on my iPad. Can you guys please look into this? That would take this awesome app over the top!
