2.0.2
2017-11-04
This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
[2.0 Updates]
• New customizable seating chart maps show what your classroom will look like. Classes can be arranged in several common patterns, and you can pick whether to view from teacher or student perspective, how to arrange desks throughout your room, and more. Pictures of the setup can be easily exported to other apps or to print. This has been my most requested feature, and I think it strikes the right balance of customizability and simplicity.
• Speed up seating chart randomization for simple set-ups.
• Fixed a nasty crash when arranging larger classrooms using front row settings.
• Other adjustments and optimizations.
[2.0.1]
• Added the ability to batch-add students by separating names with a semicolon ("Alice; Sarah; John"). This should make entry a bit easier. I'm looking into other options.
[2.0.2]
• Adapted layout for iPhone X.
If you've tried using Seats but it doesn't quite fit your circumstances, let me know what would help. The website help page will have tutorial videos for how to use the app.
If you're using and enjoying Seats, please consider leaving a review in the App Store. Thanks!

1.3
2016-10-10
Refined "Smart Volunteer" mode has been promoted to its own tab, with several improvements.
• The whole class is shown, by seating arrangement, to easily track participation (tap on a student to count involvement).
• Students volunteers are randomly selected, prioritizing (but not guaranteeing) students who have participated less. No one is "safe" from being selected, but involvement is generally uniform.
• Absent students can be quickly removed from the list (swipe left).
• Devices with 3D touch can launch directly into Volunteer mode from the home screen with a quick action.
Other improvements:
• Added more course list and roster editing options: courses can be reordered (particularly to customize the top 4, for quick actions), courses/students can be renamed with a long press, and courses/students can be more obviously removed while adding/editing.
• Accessibility improvements throughout the app, with dynamic text size support where possible.
• Bug fixes and improvements.

1.2.1
2016-09-14
1.2.1 Changes
• [Fixed] Fixed a bug that could lead to crashes when changing settings with no courses.
1.2 Changes
• [New Feature] By popular request, Seats now lets you set up classes by group/pod/table size, instead of the number of rows.
• [New Feature] Seating charts can now be manually modified, when a change happens or you place a new student.
• [Improvement] Seating charts are now better made to stay put. Your exact seating chart will persist through settings changes and students adding/dropping.
• [Improvement] Volunteer mode now lists the students' row or group with their name, so you don't have to go hunting for the person you want to call on. (I love volunteer mode but I needed this added!)
• [Improvement] Extended the range of number of rows or group sizes.
As always, if you've tried using Seats but it doesn't quite fit your circumstances, let me know what would help!

- Added "volunteer" mode for randomly and evenly calling on students. From the seating chart tab, tap the ellipses (...) then the raised-hand icon for a random list of students. Tap each name, when you call on that student, to keep remove them from the list. (You can also swipe right to get there directly from the seating chart screen.)
- Updated to handle longer student names in rosters.
- Added confirmation check before replacing old seating charts, to prevent inadvertent loss of an arrangement in use (may be disabled).
- If you've tried using Seats but it doesn't quite fit your classroom, let me know what would help! I'm trying to implement flexible options and features without it becoming too complex.
