Description
The SelfLoops HRV application calculates and displays the heart rate variability. The application is used by pro-athletes, Olympians and University researchers.
Heart rate variability (HRV) is the physiological phenomenon of variation in the time interval between heartbeats. It is measured by the variation in the beat-to-beat intervals (called R-R).
There are several metrics used in the scientific literature, we calculate: SDNN, RMSSD, pNN50, AVNN.
We also calculate the same metric used by BioForce HRV and ithlete, that is ln(RMSSD)x20, we have called it HRV in the app.
To use the application you need an heart rate monitor that adheres to the Bluetooth Low Energy (also called Bluetooth Smart, Bluetooth 4.0).
By using the application you expressly agree that SelfLoops is not providing medical advice with this application. Please, consult or ask for the advice to your physician or other medical professionals for any health related questions.
For an intro to HRV see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_rate_variability
Note: If you cannot connect your Bluetooth Smart heart rate monitor, make sure that is not paired already with another application or device. Also, do not pair the heart rate monitor in the Settings of your device. The Bluetooth standard does not allow to have the heart rate monitor connected at the same time to multiple apps or devices.
